  1. I sincerely hope that's the last time we see Puel. Over the course of the season he's had plenty of time to change things and he simply hasn't done so. Abject gameplay Far, far too much passing backwards and sideways Strikers unable to score all season Ridiculous substitutions - either not sound tactically or made when there was no need Club found a high quality replacement for Van Dijk while he was injured, never played him despite it being obvious the Yoshida - Stephens partnership was always going to cause problems. Rotation policy - utterly incomprehensible once we were finished with Europe and cup competitions. Team put in a great performance against Middlesbrough and the next week most of the players who played well were dropped. For me, he has to go. We had a great cup run and were done in the final by awful refereeing ( although that's no guarantee we would have won the match), we've managed an8th place in the league but it feels very much like we've scraped it and we are lucky to be in this position. I just feel like we've missed out massively given that we've got 8th and we weren't playing well, what could we have achieved? I think the stats will say it all- it hasn't been good enough and there needs to be massive change if the club truly want to push on and compete for Champions League places. I don't think Puel is capable of bringing through that change.
  2. Well they've definitely entertained for 8 years. Think it's safe to say they'll be good for a few laughs yet. Tbh the massive inferiority complex your average skate has is entertainment enough. ... they just always have to go one better
  3. Yeah..... that's going to be real friendly like isn't it.....
  4. I don't think it's a disastrous season. But it could and should have been better. Not that long ago we were a couple of results away from the relegation fight. The issue I have is this: we are 10th with a team playing dull football and apparently can't string together an attack that results in at least a shot in target. We've had a squad problem with players not being able to get goals all season, or at least not able to score consistently. We had a massive problem in defence once Virgil was injured, I'll grant you that Stephens has stepped up and is doing well however a club that wants to sit in the top half if the PL should have a squad capable of dealing with this sort of thing. Saints don't have that squad and never will have for as long as the selling of players happens each summer. In fact any injury causes a problem for us because the squad just isn't strong enough. With this season I feel like a contestant on Bullseye with Jim Bowen saying 'let's have a look at what you could have won'
  5. Here's the most telling stat - 12 shots on target in the last 6 games. That's it. Nothing more to be said. The forward players are not getting the ball enough times in the areas where they can take a shot that at least has a chance of going in. And you can see that running right back through the buildup play every single time. Whatever it is - system, style, attitude it is clear that Puel must take responsibility for these poor performances. Players can run about, flap their arms, scream and shout or whatever, it's all pointless if a move does not end with at least a shot on goal. Last night I was listening to Dave Merrington talk about players not making simple shots because they obviously had no confidence. This has been going on all season and it has to end. Either Puel sorts it out or he goes.
  6. would have liked to go but I'm not paying £40 to watch Puel attempt to bore Arsenal to death
  7. Are you a mental? I don't want a single one of those skates near our club.
  8. Well I have to congratulate the skates for getting out of League Two at the fourth attempt, and not only that they did it winning the league as well. Quite some achievement winning the league on goal difference, I'd like to say I'm impressed. I quite sure that picture of the gathering on Southsea is merely the start of the event and in no way indicates the actual true figures. Just like their match day attendances that bring in 3million a week (home or away) to the local economy. I can't wait to see the first 'ripping up league one' posters to flood social media. I'm quite sure the likes of Southend Utd, MKDons and Walsall are very nearly quaking in their boots at the thought of the bestest most local team in world football bringing the bestest most passionate fans anywhere ever to their ground. Remember kids, every game a cup final. Has Eisner revealed the groundshare plans with Sholing FC for next season yet?
  9. Can someone explain. Why Disney are involved in any way shape or form? I thought Eisner's only connection is that he used to work there?
  10. Is it true that Goffy and Daisy Duck have been having an affair for years? I heard Minnie Mouse is actually a lesbian dominatrix and Mickey is just her slave so this true? What drugs are you on? Is it true you wish to knock down Fratton park and move the club to Sholing?
  11. So basically they are demonstrating the massive chip on their shoulders again and someone said 'ten million' and they want to quote it even though there's no actual promise of that sort of investment at all just an 'indication of an intention'. Well my ex has a really hot sister and I've often indicated an intention to smash her back doors in without actually doing it. (Absolutely nothing to do with the fact that her bloke is bigger than me and could easily lift me over his head) Also quite like the 'given the experience with owners over the past 40 years' FORTY YEARS of bent owners? Skates never learn.
  12. Well....... I suppose life down there must be so dire the powers that be are desparate for anything to celebrate. But an open top bus for coming third in League Two? Wow.......
  13. Balls. It was early when I typed that
  14. I can just see how that phone call will go...... 'So let me get this right, loads of people invested in the club at a price of £1000 per share right?' 'Sort of, yes.....' 'What do you mean 'sort of'?' 'Well we call them shares but they don't pay dividends and they can't be traded on the stock market. They're just donations really but we called them shares as a part of the marketing ploy to sell them.' 'Right so are you telling me that these 'shares' essentially have no value?' 'Yes' 'But you would like me to reimburse those people who each donated £1000 per 'share', as a gesture of goodwill?' Yes please' 'And how much is that going to cost? You already Want me to pay for a stadium that's only fit for demolition' 'Around about £250k on top of the value of the club and its assets' *click* 'Mr Eisner? Hello?'
  15. So I'm reading this as I predicted - he's only going to buy if he's in control completely. He's not interested in fan representation on the board (I can't think of many that do tbh but feel free to correct me) and he definitely wants out of the kipper shed. I know it's not as far but the fact that he's imposed a 15 mile limit, inside of which he can do what he want without referring to this 'heritage board' (whatever that means) just means that he definitely wants to move the stadium from where it is. For hilarity I started considering a Wimbledon type move to Milton Keynes for the fishy few being forced to travel to Segensworth or Gosport. Or out to Havant possibly. As things stand I'm pretty sure he can just buy the club and do what he wants with very little reference to the bestest at all (just you wait for the comparisons with The Glazers and Man U). Once he's bought it, the few will have to shut up once more. That'll be funny.
  16. I wish Long could put away some of those chances he gets. It's nailbitingly frustrating to watch and I feel sorry for him.
  17. Fergie said he moved too soon, that says it all for me.
  18. Are you thinking of the Mickey Mouse Club by any chance?
  19. I'm left wondering how many clear penalties Saints are going to be denied this season. Still, we won so it's a moot point. Nice to see Yoshi get a goal, also shows what happens when you actually get players moving into the box rather than just passing it around the outside. Redmond is on fire at the moment, showing some lively skills. Long..... the goals will come if he keeps on doing what he's doing. He's not far off each time and you can see he's frustrated. Tadic much better last night compared to the weekend. A good performance from the team. Looking forward to the weekend. On a side note, nice to see Our special cousins across the forest take 4 points from Liverpool this season - that'll keep the bindippers whining nicely.
  20. Jesus h Christ take a chill pill you lot
  21. Ok point taken. I'll amend to: It's not as if the skates can bring much in the way of an argument that is actually true or relevant
  22. Let's be honest though, it's not as if the skates can bring much in the way of argument anymore is it
  23. That Emirates ground eh? Absolutely tiny.
  24. Well I'm not sure which game some people were watching yesterday but it wasn't the one I watched. It's clear that our strikers are struggling to find the goal this season and that needs sorting but it's not as if they didn't try. Tadic had a bad game, but again he kept trying and didn't give up. Yoshida really stepped up and was doing the job Virgil has been doing which I thought was good and Stephens is growing in confidence every game. Not quite sure what Bertrand was up to but a couple of times he just didn't make the run when a through ball was played. Redmond was a real pain for them to deal with whenever he got the ball. Forster..... had a better game. Actually came off the line for balls, would have been nice if he had got a hand on them but at Least he had a go rather than stand still. JWP was nowhere and I wasn't surprised when he got subbed, Romeu worked hard. Davis tried but again showed why you need more physical players in midfield. J Rod put in loads of effort but if was all huff and puff really. He bottled a great chance. For them, it all changed when Jack wheelchair came on. Otherwise that was our game yesterday.
