Report in the DE that Virgil won't be involved in today's friendly. Expect twitter to explode with desperate plastic bindippers making up all sorts of silly theories
-
Christ Alive people need to get a grip. Virgil isn't going anywhere and certainly not to Liverpool this summer. The club have made it quite clear what their valuation of the player is and have also made it quite clear that they do not need to sell him. So a club either meets the valuation and buys him or he's in a Saints shirt come the first game of the season. It would be in nobodies interest for Saints to make a u-turn now and suddenly say 'actually we will do a deal with Liverpool' If that deal happens, the PL HAVE to do something about the tapping up issue otherwise their rules count for nothing and it would be a complete free for all for the agents to do what they want to get a player transfer and earn more money. Les would be absolutely crucified if he let this happen.

You need to check your sense of humour mate, I think it's broken. This is a very well done, tongue in cheek jibe at the more silly things clubs are doing now to announce players. It's genius.

I'm getting very bored with the thick bindippers and plastics all over Twitter who can't get it into their thick skulls that Virgil simply isn't going to be signing for them. How hard is it for them to understand that, while the authorities said no action would be taken you can bet your last penny that, should Virgil now go and sign for Liverpool in this window the authorities will have no choice but to take action otherwise the rules will count for nothing and it will be open season for agents and clubs to do whatever they want. I'm not discounting the idea that he may still go to another club, shouldthey meet the valuation Saints have put on him, however it's not going to be Liverpool this window. Anyone willing to bet they make an approach in the January window?

Ricky always needed game time. It's a bloody travesty what happened to him. Would have been better to stay with us and go into coaching.

I absolutely love next seasons kit. I think the club have done very well by choosing this kit and the launch was brilliantly executed. As has been pointed out on Twitter - if you apply a negative filter to the away shirt it shows up as red and white stripes. I think that's a very elegant piece of work. The home shirt is a great throwback to the '80's kits and I can see this flying off the shelves.

Finally. Tuchel please.

Puel Sacked? - As Reported by Crook of Sh*t
Mr Biscuits replied to Ivan Katalinic's 'tache's topic in The Saints
It's not about the 8th place finish, or the cup final. It's about the gap between 8th and 7th and us being on the wrong side of it. There'd be less moaning if there was 15 points between us and Bournemouth and it was only goal difference that put Everton ahead of us. -

yep thanks for the cup final and all that Claude, I can't thank you for the fact that my son kept asking 'why don't we score goals anymore daddy?' All the way from the Stoke game. As for the rest, well it's about time the club took a stand and dealt with players taking the p!ss. But then the club also needs to get this squad sorted out if it wants to challenge the top 6. Far too much deadwood in the squad - the new manager needs to either get them motivated and playing or move them on. And dear god I hope the new manager is at least someone known rather than a newcomer to the PL (no matter how good their reputation in whatever league they are from) -
Well the club gave made a statement. It appears to be 'business as usual, we're selling the takent'
-
I F**KUNG WOULDNT HAVE 60MIL TO SPEND BECAUSE I WOULDNT HAVE F**KING SOLD HIM. ESPECIALLY NOT TO THAT F**KING CLUB. F**K OFF SOUTHAMPTON YOU F**KING LYING TOSSPOTS YOU SAID YOU DIDNT NEED TO SELL GROW A F**KING BACKBONE AND SOME BALLS AND BUILD A SQUAD TO CHALLENGE FOR THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE

Whether it's true or not, I'm struggling to see how a quote about a previous iteration of the skates regarding playing at anfield 37 years ago is in any way relevant to..... well.... anything really.

Has he gone yet? No? Ok, catch you tomorrow
-
Ok, not sure why that got in there. But you just concentrate on the one error in my post and ignore the rest if you want.... oh wait.....

Has he gone yet? No? Check back tomorrow then

How many times does it need to be said? It's not about the final league position, it's about how we got there. Saints could and should have played far better this season than what we saw at times. 1) Europa - was a failure. We were at least second best in that group, if not best. The manner of our exit was not acceptable, especially from a manager with Europa experience. 2) several games we should have won such as Stoke, Middlesbrough, West Brom and Hull 3) the apparent Inability of the team to string an attack together all season 4) the utterly pointless rotation system which, I believe, was directly responsible for poor results on the back of good results 5) daft substitutions when not required I'm not saying we should have been challenging top four this season, but we definitely shouldn't be looking at a 16 point gap between us and Everton in 7th. Our final position is a combination of luck and the teams below us having a shocker. Granted, it's not as bad as it could have been, however it's definitely not as good as it should have been either.

Only the skates would be so disrespectful towards such an entertaining manager (for us), the manager who got them promoted. Also quite liking the way they think League one is going to be a breeze for them. This thread is never going to die is it?

Has he gone yet? No? Check back in a few days

Depends if Eisner is serious and knows what he's doing, otherwise it's all going to go horribly funny again
-
Would have like to see a back four of Cacares, Yoshida, Van Dijk and Bertrand. Best of luck to all of them

Over the course of the season Puel has had more than enough time to imprint his style and ideas on this squad, if what we are seeing on the pitch is any sort of reflection of that I find it incomprehensible as to why anyone would want him to stay. A dull, turgid passing game with few shots on target, isolated strikers and vulnerable back line is a recipe for disaster in this league. If we had finished on 46 points last season that would have been 13th, just above Watford. Anyone think that's acceptable given the targets the club have set? Perform like this again next season and it's a distinct possibility that we could get dragged into the relegation fight. Given the investment in the squad and the resources available, that is something this club shouldn't even have to consider.
-
Why? Are they looking for someone to run one of the burger stands? Seriously though.... absolutely not. Moyes would be wrong for the club and would never get a chance to prove himself here. Imho he'll never Manage in the PL again unless he drops to the championship and gets a club promoted.

Those would be the shares that are actually worth something then, as opposed to the donations for which you got a bit of paper with the word 'share' on it
