Manolo Gabbiadini: Joins Sampdoria - Official
GGalpin replied to Portugalsaint's topic in The Saints
This idea that he hasn't had chances is a bit odd really. Four managers in a row haven't fancied him; one or two maybe you could say is unlucky, but four of them all having the same opinion on him smacks of the problem being with him. -
Haven't seen tonight so can't agree/disagree. Would point out Luke Shaw was the same when he broke through, and got better at going forward once he got more settled into the team. Hopefully Valery will be the same.

Think it's more Hoedt, Elyounoussi and Gabbiadini..

Hapoel Be'er Sheva

Adkins was famously a terrible manager for Saints too.
-
Linked summer 2014, if I remember rightly, so would at least be someone we've tracked instead of going with just the manager's opinion like Carrillo.
-
Anything in particular that has brought this on?

City maybe?

Oh Hasenhuttl, to the tune of Seven Nation Army would go down well...

Really find it hard to believe we'd go from having a massive squad and needing to cut numbers to buy players, to suddenly shelling out £30m on a centre back. Pascal Gross would cost far, far, far more than £5m- he's one of Brighton's best players. Probably would have to multiply that by five before they even give it a second thought.

I now believe Hughes didn’t save us from the drop...’Not Pellegrino’ saved us
GGalpin replied to eddie's topic in The Saints
Again pure guesswork, but fairly confident Pellegrino wouldn't have stuck on Gabbiadini when Bednarek got injured against Swansea. Small moment but ultimately played a huge part. -
It was the day after we played Chelsea, which I think was a Wednesday night. Barcelona came later as it was FA Cup fourth round weekend and we'd been knocked out in the third round by Chelsea, if memory serves me correctly.

The 1970s called, they want their sweeping generalisations back. Out of interest who has the better work rate; Marko Arnautovic or Luis Suarez?
-
Surely got to do something in that area of the pitch. Gallagher getting overlooked for Obafemi, Gabbi + Austin not doing enough either...

Going to be interesting what we do in January, given Ings and Long are the only strikers suited to a pressing game you'd think.
-
Cedric, JWP, Lambert, Beatts, Bridge, Fernandes, MLT.
-
Judging by Gabbiadini's wife's Instagram, they had a Christmas do for all the players and staff's children today.

Agree with that 100%- quite simply would add everything we lack. Do wonder whether someone like Fernando Llorente would be someone to look at loan. Always been better when we've had a target man and he'd fit that bill; has experience of fighting against relegation and hasn't played that often for Tottenham since he played there, so could be available.
-
Two domestic loans, and only one from one club; as Ings is technically a loan until July 1st I'm assuming this wouldn't be possible.

Southampton stick by Mark Hughes as club look for upturn in results https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11700/11552522/southampton-stick-by-mark-hughes-as-club-look-for-upturn-in-results

Both Transfermarkt and Whoscored have him down as a left winger, not sure he'd be coming as a striker.
