  1. He'll surely get offers that would dwarf both Spurs and Saints' offers, the guy is class.
  2. Can understand the frustration at Pellè but at least he looked remotely interested. Clyne didn't, going through the motions is inexcusable IMO.
  3. Well if Clyne is off for £20m as is rumoured, we'd have to find a replacement. Like the look of Kieran Trippier from Burnley myself, similar to Clyne in that he likes to get forward and whip crosses into the box. Him and McCarthy would be decent options for the right back position. Darmian from Torino would be ambitious, could cover both right and left back slots.
  4. Wonder how many of the same people saying we should have gambled are the same ones who back in the League One days were saying "I would love to be a sustainable safe Premier League side with no money issues or anything"....
  5. Funny how for someone who hasn't played a single minute this season, Jay is constantly in the papers. Almost as if he's paying his agent to do his job, really...
  6. Agree. Even if Arsenal or Utd were to finish outside the top four because of us finishing there, they could still go to either one and be reasonably confident that they'd get Champions League football 9 seasons out of 10, earning bigger money to boot. As long as they left respectfully, I don't think anyone would really begrudge them the move.
  7. Then before that? Struggling to be fair. Probably Arsenal, but the number has definitely dropped.
  8. By yesterday, I meant Saturday. FFS.
  9. Struck me at the game yesterday... When was the last time Pellè missed a header from a cross in the league? I genuinely can't remember, and part of that is because the number of crosses into the box seems to have dropped drastically, and if the cross does go in the quality of it is poor. This is a 6'4" striker, by the way. He's not gonna be able to beat defenders with searing pace and immense dribbling ability. He has to have service.
  10. Meniscus.
  11. Could be wrong, but would the fact it's a loan change things? Less paperwork, so maybe less hassle with a work permit because it's "temporary", sort of thing?
  12. Worth loaning him out for decent loan fees and wages paid, then sell him at £5m or something. Means we "lose money", but we actually make a fair bit back of the £12.8m spent.
  13. The first bid is always low. Didn't we bid something like £4m for Forster first bid?
  14. Considering he's been out for about 10 months and doesn't even look close to getting back, we might never ever see the same Jay Rod as we did. Completely different people, but if a striker like Radamel Falcao can go from untouchable to struggling from the same injury is frightening. If someone offers us £20m I'd take it and run!
  15. Perhaps because the club will replace both of them, and the fact that with everyone available he's not as good as Wanyama or Morgan who play his position?
  16. Cork is 3rd choice defensive midfielder, really.
  17. Not really a defector, but nice to see a cult hero doing well at his new club! https://twitter.com/eGehrig16/status/560604978008821761 Eric Gehrig ‏@eGehrig16 “@cjdubbya: @eGehrig16 How has Guly been to play with thus far?” locker neighbor, great guy, and he can ball!
  18. Not only does he have the time to learn his craft and learn how to become a better player, he seems to have the sort of professionalism needed to become better. One thing having the ability and time to become better, it's another to actually put the effort in needed to fulfill his potential. Will be a brilliant player IMO.
