Was just typing that when the reply came through 😂 Be interesting to see whether they provide live updates or keep it to just a report like they did with the Bristol City game pre-restart.

Might also help keep the number of players Ralph has to work with down. Instead of the likes of say Sims and Hesketh coming back and adding to a 26, 27 man training session, they can be assessed in the B-team and keep Ralph working with the players he really wants to work with. Considering our relative recent success in bringing in over 16s (Stephens, Obafemi, Valery etc) as to bringing players all the way through from eight years old say, would imagine this kind of set-up will assist that. Allows them to be monitored by Ralph and getting adjusted to what he would want without adding to the numbers again.

Way that reads makes it sound like it's come from the Spurs end, which probably means they're stating the lowest possible price for PEH and the full fat deal for KWP if all add-ons are achieved. Would expect anything reported from the Saints end will be exactly vice versa (full fat for PEH, lowest price for KWP), so that deal will most likely be far better than that is made out to be.

Presumably one that has been recommended from here. https://www.southernmarquees.co.uk/

Yes he was. Sounded quite promising from what I listened to; said they monitor all their players out on loan, and complimented his energy off the ball as well as what he does on it. From memory he mentioned they'll assess his future when he returns. Personally think in a market where money is tight, he's really worth a chance.

Was asked- said he didn't want to comment on any particular rumours but confirmed we are looking at centre backs. Said we're busy in the background (scouts etc) but he's focussed on the games more at the moment. All usual stuff really.

Wonder whatever happened to this non-league striker... https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11688/7468479/town-reject-vardy-bids

Luke 1977. They usually do menswear stuff but the owner is a big Villa fan. As Colinjb said they did a really good job of it; both the home and away kits looked very nice and obviously given who they were made by were bespoke too. The third shirt wasn't great IMO but far nicer than some of the shirts we've had in recent years.

There will definitely be a transfer window this year, otherwise you'll have situations where a team in League Two for example have the majority of their squad out of contract at the end of this season (when it finishes) and would not be able to replace them. Not a chance there's no window when this finishes.
-
Only one who will be staying IMO is Long. Cedric and Yoshida are also up but given they're out on loan presumably means they're leaving.

This website is decent for tracking relegation chances, and probably a good indicator as to why we're 50/1 to go down shortest price. https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/soccer-predictions/premier-league/ Not great reading though for those wetting themselves with panic that a team who haven't won all year are suddenly going to win four of their next six, mind.

This seems a big gamble for a £3m loan fee...

Fair point but hardly well stocked at CM. That's a lot more concerning...

Slattery? Saw on Twitter he was apparently going to De Graafschaap?

Impression I've got from speaking to friends who are Spurs fans is that KWP is decent and needs a run of games, which he'll inevitably get at us, but just doesn't quite fit the standard of where they want to be as a club, certainly in the timeframe they expect where they can give him that time. Perhaps us giving him that game time will help him there, but think this is a fairly smart move. He's effectively on a try before you buy; if he's horrendous, you'd hope the option means we won't get burned.

I'd be absolutely amazed if we didn't scout the Championship- Che Adams pretty much puts that theory through the window. The Premier League cash on offer means that prices go through the roof. Besides, who exactly is there this season who would genuinely improve the team and be available midseason? By all accounts Ben White has been the best in the league this season and he's on loan from Brighton...

Josh Sims is back at New York Red Bulls. Season long loan https://twitter.com/NewYorkRedBulls/status/1219650435566505984 https://www.newyorkredbulls.com/post/2020/01/21/new-york-red-bulls-bring-back-josh-sims-2020

I don't think you're taking into account the crucial part of whether Bertrand would want to extend his contract. Given he's 31 this in August, the rumours about wanting to go for a while now and the fact he's been driving up and down from London since joining, this summer may be the best time to thank him for the service and wish him luck.

It's almost as if that claim came from the Daily Express...

He was also in the Ingolstadt academy at the time Ralph was at the club.

Jay Rod v Fulham at Craven Cottage is up there for me. The pass by Lambert and the finish. Great day.

I had exactly the same feeling at the Bournemouth game, my first home game in two years. The light show, stupidly loud music and the fireworks building up to... distinctly average fare. Think a lot of the problem that many have forgotten the point of a football club, daft as it sounds, is the football. If you make that good, the rest follows; the crowds will improve, you'll sell more boxes and hospitality, and getting a better team obviously means your players will valued more. The whole 'matchday experience' surveys and nonsense like that forget people's experience gets better if you're watching a winning product, and the 'football' side of it going for the whole buying players to sell on for a profit have forgotten that you need a good team and environment to help them develop. I'm sure there's a few players we've bought over the last 3-4 years who would be far better had we got that right.

Do agree with this. Know the wage bill is hugely bloated and is a problem, but when Newcastle (with their owner hardly known for being generous with spending) can spend £40m on a striker yet we're so-called limited to the £10-15m market, it does really make you question a lot of things.
