There is no benefit of playing a back five when you’re bottom of the league and chasing points. (And for those saying the wing backs push up, give it a rest, they spend most of the game out of position, and ineffective and cause a defensive unbalance). Southampton’s strong point in the last few years has never been holding on defending for dear life. The best form of defence has always been to attack. The team has always created chances, always. The issue for years now has been the lack of a competent goal scorer. Simple as that. There is no benefit of having one less player at the back of the pitch where we’re weakest when we should be trying to score goals. Sure it might not change overnight and it likely won’t keep us up. But I’d be pretty confident we’d concede the same amount of goals if we played with a back four. Which begs the question why waste a player at the back?

It’s the easiest money I’ve ever made gambling. This season alone so far has paid for my holiday next month. 😂 Couldn't give less of a toss if people think you shouldn’t bet against your club. I’d sure as hell rather be making money for me and the family, than pissing it up the wall watching the £50K p/w underachievers every weekend. 😂

I certainly have a lot less confidence that we’ll bounce back like last time.

He shouldn’t be here next season. He isn’t performing the great escape playing five at the back. The squad he’s got to work with are beyond damaged goods for the most part. A complete clear out is required.

We are crap. Complete and utter crap. Simple as. We win the “taking part trophy” every week. “Unfortunate” every week. “Deserve more” every week. Fine margins decide games. We go again next season. Hopefully a new squad, a new manager, new backroom team and hopefully a new way of working on the footballing operations side. 🤣👍🏻

Another child signing, our soccer school is so ready for senior year in league one in a couple of years time. 😉

That tickled me. Reminds me of when they bought an entirely new squad due to COVID after the pandemic, and delayed the game a month.

Results will dictate if he’s here or not next season. Let’s not gloss over the fact he’s picked up one point from fifteen is it so far? A feat which doesn’t look like improving any time soon. 😂 Getting relegated is one thing, but are people seriously going to want to keep him if we only got twelve points this season. We’ll be lucky to make double figures. 🤣 If we went down we’d be better starting afresh, players, backroom staff and squad.

I honestly couldn’t care less who stays and who goes. 😂 They’re all overpaid and underperforming. Sack the lot of them. 😇🤣

I wouldn’t be surprised if Juric wasn’t here next season. Surely a new technical director coming in might have their own ideas, ways of working, football strategy etc.

One thing is for sure, we’ll have a strong Championship side next season.

Or maybe it’s so dried up because there is very little happening at the moment.
