  1. I think it would all depend on how we act. If we establish ourselves at the top and start behaving like the Mancs, Liverpool and London teams, i.e. buying up all the talent from smaller clubs, people will start to hate us. Whereas if we continue creating a lot of our own players and playing attractive football on the pitch, I think most fans will admire our team, or at least be indifferent toward us.
  2. True, but you said a bid was put in. The value of the club will fluctuate a lot between now and any deal being completed. Whereas a bid put in June would make more sense. Anyway, I really hope it isn't true as Katrin has more than exceed everyone's expectations.
  3. Why would they put in a bid now? Seems like it would be a massive gamble seeing as we could just as likely finish 8th as we are to finish 3rd; one giving a big return, the other not.
  4. Rather have Veho than some gambling website or payday lender.
  5. As opposed to actually succeeding (well, doing much better than under his stewardship) and Katrin spending her own money!?
  6. Spurs singing "oh when the Spurs go marching in" tips it for me. Plus, without Liverpool's money it's hard to see how we would have had our success this season.
  7. Right you are.
  8. Reckon we should copy the Rock's entrance from WWE... ...I'm only half-joking.
  9. My thoughts exactly.
  10. Any update on Adrian's red card? Seeing as they play Spurs away game after next, I almost want it rescinded.
  11. If he pulled off that spectacular overhead attempt last night, all this would be a non-issue and people would be championing him again. Too be fair, his lack of gaols is a little frustrating, but at the same time he has been putting in a shift every game. Hard to fault a player who is working his socks off, forever pressing and chasing balls. Give him time and he will be back to scoring.
  12. Ali Dia, surely! Or was he not actually signed?
  13. How dare you! That is far too rational a way of looking at things.
  14. Made me laugh either way.
  15. This has been on the cards since the summer, hardly a surprise either.
  16. This Cork love-in is proper funny. What's it gonna be like when someone decent like Morgan leaves?!
  17. True, but that leaves him and Shelvey to fight it out for a place. Shelvey who actually has European experience.
  18. He's played 480 odd minutes this season, hardly a big contribution to our outstanding form. A good player for us in the past, granted, but not really a loss considering his input this year. Also, will he really be starting at Swansea ahead of Sigurdsson, Dyer, Routledge, Ki Sung and Michu (if/when he's back from laon)? he may get games in straight after the move, but not long term.
  19. Because English players cost too much! What manager doesn't try and bring in players they know? Tell me English equivalents for Pelle, Tadic, Mane, Elia or and English loan equivalent of Toby, who we could have got for their prices and would have given their return? Plus, does it matter what nationality they are?
  20. By letting this drag out so long, either sign or leave (mugging off probably wrong word). The club is now forcing the issue so we don't lose him on a Bosman in the summer. This has gone public, hence someone is not keeping their mouth shut. Club would not do this as the board conduct their business behind closed doors - a la "summer meltdown". I don't remember us having to hand out ultimatums before. If Koeman doesn't rate him to play against our Premiership rivals when we have had injuries, why would he be good enough to play in Europe when we have a fit squad? Just to make clear he has been a good servant to club, but his indecision is leaving a bitter taste.
  21. If we are serious about our European intentions, then Cork is superfluous to our needs and increases our wage bill for FFP purposes. For a squad player he has been offered a good deal, yet he is mugging the club off by how protracted and public this has become. Clyne gets called a "mercenary" in the other thread, yet he is worth so much more for the team AND has kept his mouth shut throughout.
  22. First full 90 mins back from having a fractured foot and being sidelined for weeks and gets 2 assists. He has averaged an assist every other game since then in the league alone. I think he deserves some slack.
  23. Just re-watching highlights of the Palace game. JWP with corner for the first goal, and plays a great (moving ball) to Bertrand for the next... shocking player
  24. You're talking about Jack Cork, not JWP, right? JWP has 7 assists in 12 league games, I'm happy with that return. Most of our boys had an off day today, but JWP is not a squad player.
