In USA Sheriffs are elected and Chiefs of Police are appointed by an elected Mayor . So as usual we are following in their footsteps thanks to the Tories ! We now have some elected Mayors and some elected Police Commissioners although elected with small voter turnout . You can see the road we’re now on.

So 33% is a negligable number , just over 33% of the people entitled to vote voted to leave , just under to remain and the other 30 odd % did not vote at all so by your yardstick we should still be in the EU HA HA !!!!!!

Stalin was responsible for the deaths millions of Russians , a large number of which were added to the WW2 figures . This is not to say that they didn't suffer horendous treatment as a result of Hitlers invasion of Russia . Hitler's obsession with Russia as the real enemy probably helped to end the battle of Britain .

Their agenda wasn't hidden it was openly racist against migrants from europe which we now know were quite handy to harvest our food . You need to read the Knee thread where the difference between support for a stop to people of colour being disciminated against / killed is one thing that the Prem and players are supporting and the wider BLM movement who want what they see as a different society altogether with various groups joining in with their own agendas.

In a non hypothetical senario she is white and was "respecting the flag" so she would not be abused by the President or be stopped from playing. I realize it is pointless skirmishing the the "professionals" on here who have redefined the word pedantic.

Kaepernick has not played since he made his stand , after several years NFL did a deal with him recently to compensate him. The person in another post who was standing up while the rest of the team knelt will not be subject to denunciation by the President or unable to play for any team again !

Er , everything I’ve read /heard about racism in football from footballers to coaches to managers etc says racism has been the normal for decades as well as homophobia. It still exists now in both cases . We all remember the stereotypes of black players not wanting to get stuck in and the fact that only 2 players have declared they are gay , one who committed suicide.

You have to consider the Windrush scandal as well . People who were recruited to the UK , worked here for 40 years or more are suddenly told they cannot stay here and are going to be deported! shameful, image you have cancer and are told to pay £40 k up front to get any treatment? Everyone’s tribal it’s human nature . The racism in the USA is ingrained by the slave trade , it is very difficult to change perceptions even after hundreds of years. If you read about the way people were abducted from Africa , the conditions on the Ships during transport , the fact they were thrown overboard when they were in bad health, or the ship encountered bad weather . Then the appalling treatment they received on arrival is difficult to comprehend. At the time the UK made fortunes from this trade. Since then the slaves , even when emancipated, have been subjected to discrimination. In recent times all statistics show people of colour are discriminated against by stop and search and now lockdown fines . I read yesterday about a computer programmer who was not easily identified by his voice or name so got interviews for jobs , he got a job but was subjected to complete surprise when he turned up for interviews. When giving presentations on technical issues to a group , the questions about his presentation were directed to the other members of his team who weren’t Of colour. He had numerous examples of being ignored or of being told he was in the wrong room as they were having a meeting etc ! Taking the knee , well like all these campaigns pressure is put on people , a bit like Poppy wearing during remembrance .

During the Norwich match Ralph was coaching the players throughout the match including when to pass and direction . As Redmond said with Puel he was only following orders. So perhaps Ralph is imposing his tactics which don't work if the players can't keep ball and burst forward as he imagines . If the players are unsure / worried about their role then they make mistakes . Just saying ...

I’d got out of the habit of post match depression during the break ! So maybe not fans negativity causing poor home form or do the players think the season is over for them because they think Saints are safe ?
