The point is sport used to be on terestrial television for anyone to see , you did not have to subscribe to exclusive services. By signing their sport up this means that alot of people who used to watch Rugby , cricket etc on a regular basis now don't . We even remember the Saints home games being shown all season on southern soccer , on sunday afternoons !!! Yes football now has a global audience but I think alot of people in this country do not have the same interest in cricket or rugby as we do not see it on TV on a regular basis. This of course is just sport evolving but alot of us used to like the coverage we used to get ! Ticket prices mean , as I said , that the average age of people watching live prem matches has gone up ie the youngsters can't afford it. We did think of seeing the Patriots when we were in the USA but were put off by the $175 ticket price !!!

To prove the Point yesterday , Artur gets yellow for dissent then second yellow for arm on shoulder and is sent off without hesitation !

The Prem is run by the Prem for the Prem , FFP was never going to redress the balance between clubs who can spend billions and clubs who can only spend millions. This is also true of the RU Prem and Test cricket. Unfortunately they have all sold their souls to Sky and BT etc for money , the result is not many people watch their product anymore even though they are considerably richer . With the rising cost of a ticket etc , rising average age of fans attending , one wonders how long this can go on. The Rio attendance was pathetic apart from 100m day but the IOC walked away with untaxed millions and paid all their members £700 day spending money along with free travel and hotels . Unfortunately the Paralympians look like they can't even afford to travel to compete !!!

China , apparently , aim to stage the 2030 world cup which is why they are interested in buying into the prem and boosting football in China by spending billions on players etc. This also applies to Russia where people have been made billionaires by Putin (buying state industries on the cheap and being appointed to lead areas of Russia to make more money via corruption) When Russia got the world cup Putin made pointed comments about people funding it while looking at Abromavich ! So world politics now plays a big part , apart from Murdoch and world domination. A far cry from players taking public transport to the match and fans with rattles etc.

It seemed like a good idea to stop ref abuse , esp. by certain teams ! BUT Costa has been yellow carded for dissent in both games and then the Ref has bottled out of the second yellow in both games . Costa has then scored the winning goal in both games . Not the desired result if the Refs think dissent is a soft yellow so even it up by not issuing second yellows for bad fouls or simulation later in the match.

er accountancy like economics is an art not a science . I would be very surprised if Kat was making money from the club . If you think a simple transfer profit or loss account would tell you how much money the club has then think again . Read the posts about FFP (an oxymoron if there ever was one ) relating to the wage budget and also remember the sudden relaxing of the FFP rules under pressure from the richest clubs. Would you rather the club was owned by far a east businesses who somehow managed to accumilate billions in their own countries and their own govermments want them to now infiltrate the west by the back door ?

I seem to remember Koeman was the worst manger we ever had for the first 6 games of his first season . Time to remind people of the 10 game rule ?

Not an extreme do not spend but live within one's means , a big signing is OK ! plus the club may have tried to make the big signing but have been rebuffed . We do not know yet but to say we could spend millions just because clubs with new money can is mistaken !

ffs Palace have sold their soul to a new investor as have Everton that is where their new money is coming from !!!! Transfer fees are only part of a deal , wages are now a higher percentage of a clubs turnover than ever before , why don't you get that ? If you want Saints to go down the -10 points route again then buy 6 £50 M players on £250K a WEEK and watch the club in free fall while the same said players continue to have first dibs on their £250K a week !!!!!

Let him go , showing signs of age last season, he wants a last pay day but I don't think he will do well away from St Marys which will be sad but his choice. If he was "made" to stay his performance would not be quite as good as before and as he is already "on the edge" ( like Terry) it will be bad for us and him !

The step up to be one of the top 4 is a big one and the Club would lose something if it could do that. We would need a bigger stadium and be able to fill it , much better commercial success with all that goes with that and probably new owners that could finance all that . It would not then be the club we have supported . I hope we stay in the prem for years , building until we get a shot at the title .

Mane plays when he wants to but this is a PSF with Baca so he wants to try really hard . He doesn't remind me of the out and out cheat Suarez , who although skillful has always fouled off the ball to gain space etc etc . If Mane was told to stay another year do you think he would have been professional and played at the top of his game ? or turned up late and be half arsed ???

Koman did miss the odd game with his leg in plaster for some reason I don't remember , perhaps his running around days are long past !!!!

Re Hodgson:Agger has recently retired (injury) , he said Benitez was an excellent tactition who kept his cool when things were going wrong , Hodgson did the same training session day after day to the extent that Agger hated the thought of going to work each day ! Rogers ,he says ,would berate the defence during a match so Agger went over and told him " what do you expect we are doing what you have told us to do all week "

As regards the Club's response perhaps it should be left to Puel. I would hope it would be a traditional 2 minutes silence before the first match .

Re immigration to France , during the days of the French empire , when they took over various countries around the world , all the people of these countries were granted French citizenship. This allowed them to live in France which is why there are large groups from other countries in France . As you know these people have not on the whole done well economically over the years which has led to groups of disaffected people with links to various other countries . Colonialism is also one of the reasons GB is not universally loved around the world as well . There is now emerging a new world order where the west does not dominate the world anymore so life will never be the same (despite UKIP thinking we can return to the good old days) The new borderless europe has turned out to be a bit of a mistake security wise , not sure they would have stopped the Jackal these days ! ( I know it's fiction)

You can sign who you like but if they do their knee in training etc you are back where you started . Having said that if you are in the Europa competition you need a large squad to have a team still able to run around after christmas.

On holiday in Wales as a family , we walked into the pub for lunch , they were talking in English as we walked in then as soon as they realised we were English changed to welsh . I thought that this was just an urban myth but it turned out to be true ! No big deal but not exactly welcoming .

Iceland wern't that bad , France just played proper international standard football and it was a joy to watch Griesman show what he can do .

Pele played for Italy in the same way as he plays for us , the commentators noticed him more as it's the Euros . His link up play was the same , lots of chesting down etc but not much domination in the box for a No9 . His goals were scored late on when defence was stretched but he did get in the right place . Still few attempts on target etc as for us ! So I suspect he will still be a Saint this coming season .

Got tickets for the few matches we wanted without membership , even the last home match . The only problem is the tickets available are usually at the back or dotted around and sometimes I choose a pair and they are blocked as it leaves a single seat ! although that appears to be a random feature on line . It is usually easier to ring up as people are more flexible than the computer . Actually the view from the top of stand is good in the Kingsland !

He looks past it to me , pace of the prem may be too much ......
