Saints to give £250,000 to Gift to Richard Scudamore

Beyond words ! After the £100M bonus scandal as well ............................................ -
https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/46171504 Good points about unbalanced prem and Hughes being worse than ever even for him !! Koeman is the man ! Southampton's failure to beat Watford on Saturday created an unwanted club record. The 1-1 draw means the Saints have failed to win any of their first six home games in a season for the first time in the club's history. The result also means Southampton are only out of the relegation zone on goal difference, increasing the pressure on boss Mark Hughes. Hughes fulfilled his remit in keeping the Saints up last season, but his record of five wins from 24 games in charge means he has the worst win ratio - 20.8% - of any recent Saints manager. How does Mark Hughes' Southampton record compare? Manager Matches Won Drawn Lost Win ratio% Mauricio Pochettino (2013-14) 60 23 18 19 38.33% Ronald Koeman (2014-16) 91 44 17 30 48.35% Claude Puel (2016-17) 53 20 13 20 37.74% Mauricio Pellegrino (2017-18) 34 8 13 13 23.53% Mark Hughes (2018-present) 24 5 8 11 20.8% Not only that, it is also the worst win ratio of Hughes' managerial career. Mark Hughes' managerial record Team Matches Won Drawn Lost Win ratio% Blackburn (2004-08) 188 82 47 59 43.6% Man City (2008-09) 77 36 16 25 46.8% Fulham (2010-11) 43 14 16 13 32.6% QPR (2012) 34 8 6 20 23.5% Stoke (2013-18) 200 71 48 81 35.5% Southampton (2018-) 24 5 8 11 20.8% The 55-year-old has won just three out of 20 Premier League games in charge, averaging 0.8 points per game. Of managers who have taken charge of 10 Premier League games or more since Hughes was appointed at St Mary's, only Slavisa Jokanovic, David Wagner and Neil Warnock have a worse points-per-game ratio - the managers of the three teams currently below Saints in the table. If Southampton maintain their current points-per-game ratio, they are on course to end the season on 30 points. No team has ever avoided relegation from the Premier League with such a tally, with West Brom's total of 34 points the lowest in 2004-05

Trump is not a businessman like we understand , he was left billions by his Dad and runs his empire on borrowed money , his companies make losses so he doesn't pay any taxes (so he won't show his tax returns) He borrowed 3 billion from Deutsche Bank to build another hotel then refused to pay it back , when they sued he counter sued saying they caused the 2008 crash so it was their fault !! Some deal was then done to his advantage so no we do not want that type of person owning our club . The Guardian has an article today suggesting the Prem is poor this season , 7 clubs at the bottom with few points and the "top six" scraping by in europe as they are not as good as they think they are . The Prem needs reform (City PSG etc seen to be dodging ffp ) to make a proper competitive league all about football not money.

Harold Wilson sent in the British Army to protect the minority Catholic population originally! So it is ironic (as usual) that it all went ti*ts up and ended up As an undeclared war between the British Government and Catholic Irish .

No one can agree why WW1 started but freedom of speech wasn’t one of the reasons. WW2 can be said to be a result of the Versailles treaty that plunged Germany into economic disaster and allowed the rise of the Nazis . These days remembrance is being hijacked by politics leading to faux outrage because someone appears on TV without wearing a poppy and is therefore disrespecting the armed forces. Not much publicity has been given to the disabled ex forces people who have lost their disability benefits under The new Universal Credit system which is an outrage IMO.

Him for saying such things when England manager , football wise he was good and OK as a pundit . Hope he recovers .

Bombey 0 v 0 Saints match + reaction thread

Apparently tactics all down to the first team coach (according to article in Guardian) -
Looked well full until final minutes better than the full capacity because we are counting ST holders as well

Saints 0-3 Chelsea - Match + Reaction
East Kent Saint replied to Hamilton Saint's topic in The Saints
Chelsea dived "well" which turned a foul into a yellow card. plus Chelsea got away with a couple of off the ball blocks which gave their player receiving the ball plenty of space. Unfortunately Chelsea passed and moved very well and also got numbers around our attacking players , so a crap match for Saints but good to watch ! -
I think wage caps and squad number limitations plus restricted loan deals right across all clubs inc reserve and youth teams would help to level the playing field

Bertie's cross was deflected and ended up further forward than intended , Ings stuck out a leg and the ball was shinned over the bar ! It looked like a bad miss but the deflection was key , where the cross would have gone without the deflection I'm not sure , maybe behind Ings !!!! -
MotD seemed to be a series of mismatches in descending order , the Prem requires serious reviewing . Dodgy investors trying to polish their image by buying and over investing in teams such as City makes Utd look like a better option , at least they are honest ie we bought it to make loads of money for our family NOT to make our corrupt regime look acceptable to the world in general. I am starting to agree with the "What's the point of SFC " thread now !

Even Pep loses at home and star players won't sign a new contract ..................

I still think he would have been better off being a bigger fish in a smaller pool . I still remember the way he just ghosted by defenders at St Mary’s , a better final ball or shot would be the final touch.

Not in the squad Sat is he injured ?
-
The positioning of the away fans seems to be related to where the away coaches come in to allow easier policing so where would they moved to ? They don't make alot of noise unless we let a goal in .................

Tadic will enjoy changing down a few gears ! A lot of players say, like Gerrard, can have excellent games , can put a real shift in and as their moves come off gain in belief and look like they are running the game. In other games nothing comes off and they retreat into their shell .... Top class means you can always pull something out of the hat even if you are having not much influence on the game but it still depends on your mind set .

Even if said beer/burgers etc are crap the club should at least be able to sell them in good time if fans want want to pay that much !

Living on his reputation of a few seasons ago can't see that he would improve our squad , but what dowe know .

You may have to step down to non league to get your full refreshment quota at a football match , at that level some people barely bother with the football bit ! There is still the half time rush but you can get one or three during play to compensate . I remember at Palace a couple of seasons ago you could still smoke in the ground ( by the food outlets) !!! It is largely a waste of time trying to get refreshment at St Marys , we used to have the odd warm lager from a plastic bottle but soon weaned ourselves off that . Don't forget at world cups they had to change the local laws to allow drinking in the stadium to please the lager multi national firms and certain soft drinks were confiscated to appease sponsors . In a way it would be good to have numerous outlets in the ground selling beer but I suspect some fans might overdo it ......

Ings looked really keen when he came back from injury I hope he does well here . To the above , Mane couldn't hit a barn door when he started here and Wanyama couldn't pass to save his life , a through ball from his own half went out for a goal kick despite the forward running at 90 mph !!!! so fingers crossed.
