Come on Grapefruit. Everyone agrees that was a huge highlight. Just like everyone should be able to agree that too many of the other games were a big snoozefest. This is aguing for the sake of arguing.

The amount is an almost irrelevant thing nowadays, when comparing it to quality. It doesn't mean much anymore in terms of how great a player is individually. Would he make the team better in ways that we need? Could he be the missing piece that can help other players shine? I don't know if he can, but those are the more important questions than whether the amount is too high or not.

Judging him for what we need - a solid and experienced defender - he doesn't live up to that standard. That's not fair on him, but it's not weird to call that a crap signing if it turns out to be the only one (which I don't believe it will be). Nobody is 'crap' if you use your logic: how would they do in a lower team?

Is there any way he can save some of his reputation if he stays? So far he hasn't been quoted directly and hasn't been publicly outspoken on his social media, which I assume is related to this scenario. Is there a way back into the Saints hearts?

I would, in this specific case. 14 extra points means a lot of better results. 8th or 11th give us the same nothing. I'd rather be entertained.

I'd be very pleased if we'd sign Wesley Hoedt (and keep VVD, obviously). Him or Martins Indi would be a great addition.

I really hope he will shine this season, but so far it doesn't look like MP sees him as a key player.
