The 'English race'? Ha. I don't know whether a lot of Welsh people dislike English people or not, but that's got nothing to do with 'racism'.

Everyone cheers for the underdog. Not much wrong or strange about that in my opinion.

He did get game time on various occasions and did not make an impact = chance gone. Understandable, I think, in a tight season where every point counts towards the desired result. I still believe he can get back to form though.

Most of these interviews don't provide a lot of in-depth insights, but it's the little things like hearing VVD say that he called Fonte to say how proud he is of him and that it's amazing to see him play at the Euros... I love that. The guys bonding and admiring each other is very important for the team spirit, in my opinion.

I think lots of people would have complained if Koeman had 'risked' using the talents in PL games. In hindsight it's always a nice idea, but on the day we just want the best team and bench available.

"Guus Hiddink wants to be considered for the England manager’s job and is seeking talks with the FA. The Dutchman had intended to retire after ending his second spell as caretaker manager of Chelsea at the end of last season. However, he would consider returning to work for the right challenge, and the FA has indicated it would like to speak to the 69-year-old." http://www.thetimes.co.uk/tto/sport/football/article4758845.ece

Yeah it's real proof of a player not being great. Anyone who can kick a ball should at least hit it between the posts. Nerves and circumstances have nothing to do with it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1KKJIRELNcY

Crystal Palace also want Steven Caulker, apparently. -
Guus Hiddink is still interested in being a national team coach, judging by his reaction to the interest from Russia. Could he do a job for England?
-
You're correct. The mayor is apparently convinced there are many tough and scary Saints hooligans who will come to destroy his lovely small town Nieuwleusen. No idea why the game would be there, btw.

He wasn't our most consistent player, but when he was good he was often the most exciting. Too bad (but understandable) he's gone. -

Apparently Fulham want £750k for him, which in my opinion is a steal for a player like that. Only his wages of £25k a week may be too high. http://www.getwestlondon.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/fulham-deal-southampton-maarten-stekelenburg-11378039 -

What the...? Good luck to you finding a better reserve goal keeper. -
Iceland are the reason we (the Netherlands) didn't even qualify (lost 2-0 away and 0-1 home). It's not just a fluke. These boys know how to fight.

Mane and Wanyama gone... just like everyone expected for months already. No reason to act all surprised and upset now. Still a full summer to go to find replacements. -

Fonte not having his best game.

"But for all this good work there is a touch of the Tony Daley about him: that maddening tendency to be so obviously busy but lack an end product. He’s scored no goals in 26 games for England. So the regular sight of his rueful face being beamed back from France after miscued shots against Russia, Wales and Slovakia was hardly unexpected. “I feel it’s coming – keep working hard and it will come,” he said of his trouble in front of goal after the Slovakia match. But will it? Really?" https://www.theguardian.com/football/blog/2016/jun/24/adam-lallana-england-euro-2016
