  1. Considering we was the only team to not score from a dead ball situation and mostly over hit and pretty much failed to create any thing from any set pieces dispite so many players in the line up capable of getting on the end of them, i would say we missed some one who could take a good set piece, jwp must certainly wouldn't have missed a penalty either so seeing as Rashford and Sancho main and only contribution was missing 2 penalties having jwp on the pitch even just for the that one task for them final 2 min, would have paid off in this case no? Are reasons alot of none saints fans was unhappy at him not being taken
  2. i already said Armstrong dribbles better ( But that is it ), But armstrong dont play dm or CM does he? only as back up to back up to back up... he is 4th choice behind OR JWP, Dan and Jenk in those roles, he is also not first choice over Redders / Walcott / Tella ( Who will likely be our best attacking mid next year ) Armstrong is behind them 3 and he isnt kicking Adams or Ings out either...
  3. But he does create more than Armstrong in open play, not to mention has a far better shot, Armstrong can just dribble far better which is why he normaly plays in one of the driving roles normaly filled by Walcott and Redmond and probs Tella, TBF with a fully fit team, Armstrong wont make the first 11 Easy going to be OR JWP Tella Theo / Redders Adams Ings No room for Armstrong unless we switch to 433 but then we drop ings or adams.. so not likely
  4. Its been a long time since JWP has been given freedom to push forward, at the start of the season he was starting most of our attacks till OR got injured and Dailo hasnt got the concetration levels to play DM so JWP has had to play as DM ( ORs job ) while Armstrong and Dialo have been filling in for JWP's b2b role. we really did miss OR and if he never got injured, JWP would have got even more goals and assists. is he not responsible for over 35 % of our goals? so surely with better players arond him he can do more? but still 35 % of our goals is a huge chunck to replace for a none attacking player that is full on Mr Saints, not to mention Ings more than likely to leave, 70 % of our goals last season gone...
  5. This, play well will feel we should have won, go to pens and lose
  6. Henderson is the perfect example of a top player who cant score from, the spot, how many misses he had now? 5? in a row? LOL. I agree pens is lotto, but you would expect better players ( Not including Henderson ) to score.
  7. Was he not one 1 of the top 10 cms this season? Squawka has him down in top5 https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.squawka.com/en/premier-league-best-midfielders-2020-21/%3famp
  8. You just named 5 dribblers.. Which one of them is likely to pick up the ball and look to pass as a first option to keep the ball moving quickly? None of them... No point bringing calvin on when the rest of the team cant even find Kane. Some thing seriously usly wrong with your midfield when one of the best strikers in the world had less touches than the linesman.
  9. you wont replace Ings, JWP and Vest for 65 million, nor would the club try, they would buy 10 no bodys and hope 1 pays off at around 2 - 10 mill max. You just sold off 3 players 2 of them 3 who have a combined goal involement of around 31 goals last season, we only scored 55 in all comps that is one huge huge drop to do in one go, and unless we signed Messi or Ronaldo, i doubt 10 players with potential for resale in the distant future is not going to cover that much of a drop in goals. If we sold Ings and JWP, i will be very worried of championship football the following year
  10. And jwp didnt play as a dm until OR got injured, before hand he was box to box, and when we played leeds when we had a fully fit squad, jwp took phillips out of the game and was subbed off at half time, Phillips is not better than jwp. We just threw the game away in the last 20 min like normal.
  11. Why should it go it the attackers advantage though? its far harder for a line of defenders to keep that line than it is for an attack to just make sure he keeps him self onside. football with no offside isnt football.

  13. "They have the best free-kick taker I have seen in my life in [James] Ward-Prowse,” Guardiola told the BBC. “ Said Pep Guardiola i dont even dare to trhink of teh players he has seen taking a free kick, but it has to be some list including Messi and Ronaldo.
  14. do you not see JWP giving players instructions and so on all game? i see him telling ppl what to do all the time, i see him bursting a gut to recover the ball while most stroll, i see him up and down the pitch every single game, i see him hardly ever making any mistakes, see him creating chances every game, hard tackles organising the midfield and back line, he is every where, covers runners, dude does every thing plus more of what is required of a DM...fact remains that we still have to play under ralphs tactics, and when you lose a man in a full organised team acting as one whole pressing unit, missing one piece will make a huge deal, even more so when 99% of the players on the pitch are shattared from the congested fixture list as we have no squad depth and have been hit hard with injurys. JWP has been our most consistent player since Ralph has been here and deserves to be captain, he is one of the best mids in the league and now after a few bad results due to injurys your all on his back even though during this period he has been the most consisant out of them all. Always looking for a scapegoat. Take JWP from this team and it will crumble...... lucky he is still here, him and Ings are the two best players at the club. Our bad run is down to fatigue and injurys nothing more, stop crying. the same players and CAPTAIN have been one of the most consistent teams in the league this past year. Wonder how many lack of leaders Liverpool had when the champions lost 7 - 2 to Aston Villa, Even had Van Dijk in that game the worlds best CB... Shit happens in football, Get over it.
  15. all i see is him pointing out how much of a dictatorship the EU is that its just banned the export of a vaccine from an american owned company from exporting its american + Other nations funded vaccine into countrys out side the EU becuase the EU was the slowest part of the world to approve a vaccine made in the EU while every one else was already giving it to its people but they was to busy playing politics with its citizens lifes, so they could look stronger together by doing it all together while other unions and states and countrys was already vaccinating its populations, becuase they wanted to show the UK how being in the EU is better for us all and being run from brussles is the bee all and end all, the crown jewel of the world that has america china and russia banging at the door begging to join...
  16. I have not done any moaning, certainly not from the brexit voters i know, only ones i see running to mummie are remainers, running to courts and protesting like spoilt rich brats trying to over turn a democratic vote because you dont like the winning vote? while those at the bottem working hard providing a great service to the UK during a pandemic cant even afford a day off work to fcking protest.. f the EU.
  17. but getting brexit done was why they won the GE, no deal or good deal was what we was told during the campain.. so no, they are doing what the country voted them in power to do.
  18. Since when did different parts of the field have different laws? you are talking rubbish, the laws are the same all over the pitch, so its a penalty, any late challnage is a free kick, no ifs or buts, was a poor decision, a wrong decicions and no matter how SOFT it is, a foul is a foul, just like offside is offside...
  19. ill have to pay 4 pence extra for 6 tomatoes, ill need a visa to go on holiday in the EU thats it, so nothing major to me... if they push tomatoes to 6 pence extra, i might have to sell my house... fingers crossed.
  20. Bet they dont have to hand over board controls give freedom of movement, or have to pay billions into it and every thing else in exchange for such a privalige like Remainers and eu are so keen for the UK to give away.
  21. he took KWP out, the fact it started out side the area and kept going on into the penalty area is what makes it a penalty. its the laws of the game, if Carrager dont know the laws then he is in the wrong job.
  22. Mosin

    Walcott

i think it has some thing to do with end product, not so much who dribbles the best.
  23. Mosin

    Walcott

The way i seen it was if the ball didnt come at the hight and pace it did, Adams wouldnt have got the finish off as the defender would have been on his case, any less pace on that cross and it wasnt a goal, And both Theo and WP won the ball back, WP wouldnt have got possesion as he was the wrong side of player ( player between him and the ball ) at the time Theo took the ball of the player, if walcott hadnt been pressing with WP, we wouldnt have won possesion back.
  24. He was always a MC, just was not physical enough in his early years for that position, he played well under puel in CM and pellegino got him self called upto the England team, just a shame Puels football was poor and pellegrino well less said about his time here the better, although mainly used out wide for Poch and all over mid field for RK he still played resonably well for his age and always did what was expected of him. Has always been under rated by some of his own fans, other fans have always appreciated him more, Pundits too, have had many dicusions on here in the past with this forums critics claming he would never be any thing more than league 1 at best... fast forward a couple of years......he is now one of the best DM's in the league, and one of the best set piece takers in the world? and valued at the same as Ings....
