  1. I dont agree with this at all, Chelsea and City where no world wide brand when they started signing who ever they wanted, and if for one min your trying to say that money is not a BIG factor then i think you need to think about it more, Lallana is on more at Liverpool than he was at Saints, Lovren is too, Lambert was too...... Clyne earns loads more too, Toby likes the quite life and the country side and his partner loves it, how much is in London that she can go on horse rides round? but yet he now lives n plays in London , Shaw pure money in every way ( Even Chelsea told him to do one......... ), Chambers again money........ out of every player that has left saints every single one got quite a huge pay rise for leaving Saints........ no two ways about it as it is fact, Name me one who took a wage cut to leave Saints. players are told what to say when they sign for a new club, they are hardly going to come out with " well United offered me 200 k a week but such and such only offered me this " cause if they really did say the truth then the footballing world would soon lose its bubble and fans would soon stop watching. If we did a city / Chelsea and Kat started pumping huge sums of cash into the club we WOULD keep the best players and add top players too, but as i said earlier, Kat is not as committed to the club as other owners are, am not taking nothing away from her dad as i believe if he was still with us he would as he loved the club and had huge ambitions for the club and wanted it to challenge for honors, i just dont feel Kat shares the same love and affection he did.
  2. Not for all, not every one is driven by money, You do get people out there that put happiness above every thing else. Just ask club Legend MLT, am sure he could have doubled his wages but instead choose to follow his heart.
  3. Location is hardly a factor in any thing when a footballer decides where to move, its all down to money / who they know at the club and the chancs of winning things.................... you seriously telling me you would move to london from your current home just to live in london when you can just drive / take a train / fly to it? London is a **** hole to live in, Manchester is also a **** hole to live in, Pedro went Chelsea over united cause he is good mates with Cesc and knows Jose is a winner not to mention the fact United took for ever to sort the transfer out yet Chelsea managed it in a couple of days, also not a lot of top players seem to like LVG................ Only thing players care about is money, being Famous and trophy's, The only way Saints can compete with the top clubs is if a wage limit came into force and every club even relegation favs can pay players the same as United ( Unless Kat decides to put her hand in her pocket but that is 99.999999999999999999999 % unlikely as she is not as committed to the club like roman abramovich and mansour bin zayed Al nahyan are ) Just think of it this way, Luke Shaw choose to go United over the team he has supported all his life and loves cause United offered him more............ you got it... Money........
  4. I always thought it was obvious as Adkins has said in the past and Pochy and Ronald, we defend as a team, attack as a team and control games as a team, this builds team work with in the team so every body knows they must help each other out and not any one player is more special than the other. plus how many times is the ball cleared and ends up at the half way line? Plus when clearing a ball it should be put out of play not in front of goal so some one can take a pot shot from range possibly hitting some one on the through and ending up in the back of the net. Although it is good to be able to hit on the counter after a corner, i will agree, but it goes against the clubs philosophy of doing every thing as a team.
  5. Gunners dont play to his strengths, he is a very direct player would suit a counter attacking team or a team that dont pass a trillion times in the goal area before taking a shot at goal.............. He is not world class, but he is a top player though, just needs to stay injury free for a couple of seasons, i would say he is an advanced playmaker, sitting behind 2 strikers playing a 4 1 2 1 2 diamond formation would suit him best.
  6. Did Wenger not comment on this a season or so back? If i remember rightly he said that if we had kept all of are players over the years we would be challenging to win the Champions league? my team would be ( is on football manager 15 ) Forster Clyne Fonte Toby Shaw Morgan Wanyama Walcott Bale Mane JRod I know we still have some of them players, But i have this team on football manager 15, unbeaten in league finished 5 points clear of Chelsea, lost final of FA cup, Won Champions league final , 2nd season with this team together we won every thing J Rod was top goal scorer every season for me, now in my 5th season and need to replace Fonte as he retired after wining every thing. replaced him with Jonathan Tah from Hamberg for 2.9 million ( i did cheat to get Bale and Walcott though as club would not give me the funds to buy them, surprising though, They both are happy to rejoin Saints if the club would met both wage demands and transfer fee's ) if only games are real................. i await the comments putting me down for playing football manager and sharing my team........
  7. In 13 years he has managed a huge 35 goals. not that epic as you so claim, JWP is only 20, come back when he is Baines age and just about to retire and then try and say he is not as good as Baines......... 480 apps 35 goals....... Baines only managed 8 goals in his first 7 years, JWP is at 2 goals in 4 years ( + 2 goals from free kicks for England under 21's and in the 2014 Toulon Tournament his 1 of his free kicks was voted best goal too! and he was voted 3rd best player at the competition too!!!! a competition that included James Rodriguez, Lucus Silva, Edmilson. some big names played in this competition ) . i bet he will get 6 more in 3 more years.......... why are so called Saints fans so hard on are younger players, he is still a kid let him grow and mature..
  8. A Madrid do it every year and have been for a very very long time just thought i would say
  9. £'s, as i said, people may not agree with my prices, but i think the fees i put are realistic on todays market. only one slightly off is Jrod as he has been out for a year, but if he comes back as good as he left he should reach 20m. Hard to value young players as most of the value comes from potential, But young English players do command a bigger fee.
  10. Victor depends on the season he has this time round, Mane i think could easy go for 20m +, JWP easy 20m, JRod 20m + ( English players demand a higher fee as we all know ) Target 20m in a year or two, Reed easy 20m that lad has huge potential, Hesketh 15m, Seager 20 m in a season or two depending on apps for first team / his development going how every one expects it to go, the one player that most stands out as a future big transfer fee is Slattery, i really do think he will follow in the foot steps of Bale in that he will be a big big player as he matures and develops, lad has HUGE potential i think around 30m + for him in a few years But i do agree, the crown jewels have all been sold once Morgan completes his United transfer, but we have more coming This is all my own opinion, not all will agree mind.
  11. I was born in Northampton, lived in Southampton for 3 years before i turned 4!!! so have 0 memory's of my time there but i still to this day make my way from Stoke on trent ( where i work and live ) to Southampton every home game and around the country, My Father is a Saints fan and attends game with me and my two sons and my other brother every home game and away games.....also my grandad and Grandma which is why i am a Saints fan cause being a Saints fan runs in the family plus i do love the club...... but even so,, its nice to know you think any one not born in Southampton are bellends, going to look good while the club are trying to build the fans base up isn't it? Grow up. Football is world wide. i probs do more to support the club living out of Southampton than most fans do that LIVE in Southampton.

@ Batman, Definition of a top six club is where it finishes not how big it is, if it was defined by that then Manchester United would be favs to win the league every year cause they are after all the biggest team in the league by a big margin. we are the 15 th biggest team, but are a top 8 team. Spurs are in every way a top 6 team league position and by size. but we only finished 2 points off them and I believe the club can close that little gap up, so that is what i meant by a so called top 6 team as i fully expect us to be challenging them again this season and finish above them. Back to the topic. From what i understand, Toby could have agreed a deal with Saints before the agreement with AM was signed ( not always does this happen, But some times the player agrees in advanced in the loan to buy option ). If this is the case and AM missed the dead line then he is a Saints player legally. if i can recall interviews with Koeman my understanding is that AM are standing in the way of making Tobys loan perm not Toby. But of course no one knows ( but those in the club ) what is written on the contract or if Toby has pre agreed a deal. If Toby has not pre agreed terms with us then the dead line has no real meaning and should not have been written into his loan agreement to start with, as no transfer can happen with out the player first agreeing to join permanently ( signing a pre contract ) If Toby has pre agreed a contract with us and as the paper's says has been for a medical and discussed a contract with Spurs, maybe the FA are blocking his transfer till the details of the contract between AM and us are known, this could take around a week or so, if it turns out he is a Saints player then AM will be in trouble and Spurs might be too. might be why some people seem to think we are going to take the matter to the FA and FIFA.

This i think is why the club are even more determined to get Toby, Cause it is getting one over a so called top 6 team.

This is what i think has happened, i think we have kept quite waiting till the agreement was canceled by AM but they have failed to do so. if this is the case then i cant see how AM can stop the contract now and will be forced to sell him for 6.8 million by Uafa, Spanish Fa and English FA, if AM fail to keep the agreement i cant see how English FA can allow Spurs to sign Toby.

That is the amount that is going around - im a 100 % sure we could both match and beat this wage quite easy to be honest.

  17. Although this might be true to some people it is not for all, i had the chance 3 years ago to gain 3.7 k a year to work in a fancy restaurant. i turned it down to stay working with the same head chef and co workers who i get on well with and have now worked with for 9 years.. i got the chance to move as the old manager of my current place moved to a new one which he got a nice big pay rise with.. im still working at the same place with 7 people who i started working with 9 years ago....all having a great time with while at work and after work and i still live near all my family and friends. My old boss ( the one that offered me a big pay rise and a car ) now has a different job lives no where near his family and is NOT happy with his life at all.... I know footballers are different - but i for one am glad i never sold my soul for a pay rise after seeing how his life feel apart and how he wishes he did not take the job. Yes the extra money would be nice. but i wouldn't give my life away for it........ My point is... money is not every thing....
  18. Got to give credit to the Portugal players though, some of them would step into are first team tbh.. some very very talented players in that team!
  19. was rested, dont think they will do it again though they where lucky to win the game.. missed JWP a lot during game against Sweden, his composure on the ball, his passing, can go as far as to say he holds the under 21 team together and keeps it ticking over tbh
  20. I personally ( might have been listening to much into his words and his tone of voice mind ) but i think he was kinda of suggesting Luke moved far too soon and should have stayed at Saints. Keep up the commentary SA
  21. i agree, he is far to good to lace Lambert's boots, After Lambert gets sold to some random fav for relegation club / Championship club / League 1 club at the start of next season, im sure Pelle will offer him a job and remind Lambert about the life here at the South Coast where the fans loved him and that he gave all that away to spend possibly his last season in the prem as a bench warmer at the club that already got rid of him once and now look set to do it again.......... Dont get me wrong i loved Lambert, i will always remember the days he wore the Saints shirt and is a legend in my eyes, But the moment he left to go Liverpool was the day he retired in my view.
  22. It's not that I don't rate him, but somehow he's lacked the same aggression and enthusiasm that we first saw - since returning from injury in winter 2013. Or he might have been told he needs to calm down a bit cause he gets booked alot and for a big bloke he does look very aggressive and intimidating. I believe he is one of the top 3 defensive mids in the league and with only Matic and Morgan ahead i think that is very good for some one we only paid 12 million for considering we want 20 - 25 million for Morgan and victor is younger and will still keep improving in his game where Morgan is more a finished article and wont improve much now.... He is not a box to box mid so goals are not really any concern, if he bags 1 goal a season its all good. Roy Keane is considered as one of the best ever defensive mids and managed just 57 league goals in the best mid ever seen ( at the time ) i would not be shocked if Victor manages to grab 32 more goals in the next 10 - 13 years ( might be longer depends on when he wants to retire ). I rate him very highly and i would guess we will demand the same fee when he is sold as we will Morgan. i also believe he is more the reason for are solid defense than Morgan is, as Morgan seems to have a more advanced role in the team than victor does and is often found higher up the pitch too with Victor always taking the more defensive role. I really dont know what more you could want from Wanyama in terms of the position he plays, Its not like Morgan has scored loads more goals, in terms of defensive work as i said he is in the top 3 in the league with Matic and Morgan so he must be doing some thing right to get the attention he gets............ he does need to improve his concentration a bit but apart from that he is a very solid defensive mid and i can not think of any player in the world i would rather have in his position apart from Morgan, i would even go over the top and say we currently have the two best defensive mids in the world, and im proud to say that they both currently play at Southampton FC.
  23. I Think the criticism of Tadic is a bit harsh considering he has played alot better this year than good old Lallana has in a liverpool shirt, Scored same amount of goals but Tadic for chances created is quit far ahead of Lallana in that department and so is Mane ahead of Lallana. Cant really compare Lambert and Pelle, but im happy with Pelle performances despite his lack of goals this year ( Start of season he was banging them in for fun mind so a bit disappointing he has not carried that on like most ppl ) for his first year in the league i think he has done well, Same for tadic and Mane and will be expecting them all to be better next year after a year settling into the league and country, i do expect Pelle to be dropped next year for J Rod though, Cant see it this year as j Rod has only just come back but i expect are front line to be tadic mane and J Rod next year and J Rod will be are top goal scorer and think he will get around 20 - 25 goals if his knee has not hampered him to much. Overall i have 0 complaints about this season and if Lallana and Lambert stayed i think we would be worse off considering we finished 8th last year and look set to finish higher this year, So saying Lambert and Lallana would have done a better job when we all know how many chances they FAILED to stick in the back of the net last year is silly, Plus we have missed j Rods goals this year too......... just think if he had not been injured all year he might have got us higher up the table with his goals at important moments like he got last year for us. What im trying to say is - Stop moaning we are having an awesome season and its down to the current team, not the efforts of the deserters who left us for a team 1 point ahead of us in the league...... and who's star players are all wanting to leave too - eg sterling, Henderson, Cortinho.. all these players will be looking for Champions league football next year and will NOT get it at Liverpool.

  25. Yes apart from Atletico, the rest are for the taking to be honest. Only reason why English teams been so poor in Champions league is down to poor defending, some thing which Saints are the best at in the league.
