OMG in all my rambling I just remember, he is only 11 free kicks scored behind the all time EPL record holder, can you picture a saints player holding an EPL record, be quite some thing. ohh wait no, he will be sold to some championship / league 1 or 2 club soon, not good enough for the EPL.
-
But JWP should out assists and out score him, he took every free kick and corner from the bench, 90 % of them never made it past the first defender, 9% went into row z some where, and the 1 % that do make it got him all that, no one ever missed any easy goals either, the only chances JWP made got slotted home. but still, it don't matter, wide midfielders, wingers, inside forwards and strikers are not meant to score goals and get assists, the job of them all is to just cause problems with running and dribbling.
-
Left back and right back play on the wing, are they wingers? no, Why? player instructions and team shape say they are defensive and push up when needed to help build up attacks. Left and right midfielders (Wide midfielders) have a role balanced between attack and defence, similar to that of central midfielders, but they are positioned closer to the touchlines of the pitch. They may be asked to cross the ball into the opponents' penalty area to make scoring chances for their teammates, and when defending they may put pressure on opponents who are trying to cross. wingers (in general wingers) are attacking minded players who have the ability of both creating and scoring goals. At times they are also used as strikers due to their exceptional finishing skills. Wingers are actually very fast players with commendable top speed or acceleration who can deliver crosses to the target man or striker. They build up the play with the midfielders to make an attack. Over the years with advent of attacking playing style both right and left wings are used to accommodate players who could have also played as a sole striker. Nowadays wingers are used so that 3 strikers ( 1 striker + 2 striker minded players) can be played together with just little modification in a 4–3–3 formation in the same horizontal line or in a 4–2–3–1 formation with wingers playing in the same horizontal line as the CAM . Wingers are not given any defensive duties as they are most dangerous on the break and spend most of the time looking for space to exploit when possession is turned over, this is why when wingers are used a formation of 4-2-3-1, 4-3-3 and 4-1-2-2-1 is expected as the 3 midfielders are needed to cover the wingers lack of defensive duties. your argument is flawed before you even start it. I never once at all said JWP is the answer, he just provides things others in the team cant and some thing we could do with and would Help Redmond get into the positions he likes which is in 1v1 vs the goal keeper / running at back peddling defenders going for glory. Just think of a world when Scoring goals and assisting goals are not the job of Wingers / Wide midfielders but the sole responsibility of central midfielders and full backs, I guess it explains why we have central midfielders and full backs with assists and goals and wide midfielders with 0, opps sorry wingers with 0.

You are a mong, if we played with wingers are formation would be 4222 and would look like this. GK LB CB CB RB CM CM RW----------- LW ST ST But yet we line up like this GK LB CB CB RB RM CM CM LM ST ST Please understand basic formations before trying to sound smart. a flat 442 plays with a right and left mid, not right and left winger, In the words of MH him self, we play a flat 442, he says we play a flat 442, so that means we play with a right and left mid. you think we play 4222. now he is wrong, im wrong, but your right? ok your a mong, Just cause they take up a position on the wing during attacking phases does not mean they are wingers. do you know how many different roles you have in wide area's? cause I have a degree in it. studied for years at university, im not some random drunken idiot that attends games. If I wanted to give JWP a xmass card ill hand it to him my self, I don't need you who don't know basic formations / roles In formations handing him any thing. Bet JWP has more assists than Redmond come the end of the season.
-
Romeus drop in form is cause he is being asked to play out of position in a role he don't play, he is an Anchor midfielder should be played in that role only, never get why coaches play players out of position. I feel we should be playing a 4231or a 433 with the players we have to get the best out of them
-
No worrys, I do try to attend when possible but I had a job and had to go to Stoke when we played Liverpool and had to attend Ewood park yesterday, hard life some times, but I will get to go see us against Everton and probs the next few games before I get another task I if get one at all.
-
I only missed yesterdays game and the game vs Liverpool, as I had commitments for work that have to be done. but my opinion on those games are only biased of what you all say, and the general feeling that every agrees we are rubbish, both defensively and attacking, have I got any of that wrong? ohh yeah, and we do the worst set pieces in the league. Don't see what your problem is, I attended 39 games last season, and 6 out of 8 so far this season.

Did you see Moi's corner, has made him famous that lol here in case you missed it https://www.skysports.com/watch/video/sports/football/competitions/premier-league/11512966/worst-corner-ever

We no longer play with wingers, so your point about JWP being ineffective on the wing has no bearing on this as we have since day 1 ( Apart from 45 mins ) played a flat 442, He has also not taken every free kick, and question your self why Redmond does not take them at all? is it because he is awesome at it or because he cant cross? ill let you decide that, but out of the 5 corners JWP has taken, we have had 1 goal from them already this season and Austin and Ings should have scored 2 more of them in his one and only start this season, we have 0 goals from them since, in fact, we have had pundits and commentators laughing at how horrible we are at them when JWP is not on the team, with sky sports saying how you get better from none league football " but people forget all the terrible crosses and set pieces he does before hand " You know Redmond has the lowest cross completion / success rate in the league? you know he has the worst pass % also in the league, you know he is in the top 3 creative people in the league? ohh wait no that would be Anthony Knokaert who is the 6 th slowest player in the league ( Yes slower than JWP ) but plays Left midfield and has 3 assists, yet cant dribble and obviously as the 6th slowest player in the league, is not a very fast runner, you know why he has assists and Redmond don't? na I cant quite work it out either, to complicated for me.... but I guess its cause he runs faster than Redmond and dribbles better I mean its got nothing to do with his delivery at all, that is just a load of balls that, its all to do with his awesome pace and dribbling skills. Running with the ball and dribbling is not the most important thing. I like how you still avoid answering my questions LOL
-
No i am not, my job is of no concern to you, but lets just say, I see the training ground a hell of a lot more than you ever will, unless you work at the training ground / play at the club. But why are you changing the subject with out answering my question? is it cause you know I am right? Again, How much in that game did Redmond create in which he played the full game? If JWP had played the full 90 min, you trying to tell me he would not have created a single chance? what point you trying to make, in what way is Redmond performing / is better than JWP? ( Apart from dribbling and running ) come on, stop just saying it and prove that Redmond is better, some me the dam stats.
-
ill highlighted the key word for you, I wont say any more.
-
Redmond played the full 90 mins of that game and also did nothing, JWP played just 10 mins in team that had given up after trying every thing they new of, had completely lost control fo the game and was being camped in its own half being out played by Brighton. what is your point? you trying to suggest that had JWP played the full 90 mins he still would not have created a chance? had it not been for a worldie from HOJ and a penalty we would not have even scored a goal. You possibly cant cause he has created more in his 98 mins of play time this season than both Redmond and Moi have put together?.
-
-
I am not saying he is the answer, but its better than having the **** taken out of the club cause we cant even manage to put a corner into the box with out pundits and commentators ripping the **** out of the team. they cross better in none league football for god sake. are you not ashamed of how bad we are at every thing but dribbling ( even though we are the worst in the league at that too ) JWP man be boring and crap at dribbling but least he gives us a final ball to score from, cant say the same for are other wide players who are yet to get a single assist or even make a clear cut chance or key pass in 7 EPL apps ( 6 for Moi ) . take of that as you want. but like in every thing, the most effective way is always the best way and JWP is far more effective than both Moi and Redmond so far and has had 550 mins less than both. that is god dam ****ing embarrassing m8 for Redmond and Moi that a player who has one 84 min game and 10 mins as a sub has created far more goal scoring chances than they have. I reckon Sir alex would be playing JWP, he was never worried about lack of pace at his great united team, he was a keen admirer of effectiveness which can be read in his autobiography book, its the main thing he picked his teams on. poor out of form players sat out games, players who made things happen and who did the job properly played.
-
Listen to saints fc podcast after the Everton game and see how much they talk abut JWP and how good he was that day and how he was the most dangerous player on the pitch and how they felt he should be playing net game. then check what pundits and stuff say, then check the stats, then watch the chances he makes, then watch Redmond. JWP is a far more dangerous player. Rather JWP sweinging in a cross than Redmond, Rather JWP swinging in a corner than Redmond, Rather JWP take a penalty than pretty much the full team, Rather JWP be putting in that free kicks. last season we stuck with Redmond and JWP played most games from the bench / was always first to be subbed, yet finished with a higher seasons average rating than Redmond, Finished better pass ac than Redmond, better crossing stats, Better threw balls, better clear cut chances (these are chances that should have been put in the back of the net BTW ) more interceptions, more key passes ( These are passes that allow others to assist a goal, eg playing a long diagonal ball to Bertrand on the left wing who controls the ball brings it down and whips in a cross which either get scored of or missed ) Literally the only thing Redmond is better than JWP at is dribbling and he is not even that great at that seeing as he has one of the lowest dribble success rate in the league and one of the highest disposed number of every one in the league.
-
I don't love JWP, far from it, but I know what I see when he plays, and he creates chances, far far far far far more chances than Redmond does. facts are facts, how many chances you think we have missed from a JWP ball? or even scored form a JWP corner free kick and just a normal pass or cross in open play? far far more than Redmond does dribbles mate. am sorry to say it, but Redmond for all his running and dribbling skills, is poor at every thing else, rather have JWP play, least he can cross the ball and take corners and even put the ball on a plate for are forward players to miss.....
-
Amazing how we stuck with Redmond all last season and seem like we are sticking with him this season, Yet he is the only out field player to not assist a goal or score one or even create a clear cut chance for any one else to score from. But JWP is **** and the only thing he trails Redmond by is dribbling and running speed... yet the ball can cover more ground faster than any one can run. amazing.
-
He may be **** at dribbling and running, but his end product is a trillion miles better than Redmonds. 43 apps 0 assists and goals and counting for Mr un droppable Redmond, Moi 7 apps 0 assists 0 goals 630 mins played 0 clear cut chances 0 for both of them this season. JWP 5 clear cut chances ( 2nd most on the team ) 98 mins played this season. lets include last season too 1623mins 37 clear cut chances made 9 assists 3 goals in the league ( 2 goals in cups plus 5 more assists 7 apps ) ...…. Can clearly see who is **** mate. and sorry to say, but it is no JWP, its Redmond. But its ok, cause Redmond can run and dribble and do nothing else even worth mentioning but yelling at his team mates LOL. No one even enquired about Yoshi and Gabbie btw.
-
Maybe in your opinion, but i would put all 3 on the same level tbh, disappointing
-
And who do you think we would sell, not one single player on are team attracted any interest at all but JWP, but the poor whipping boy cant get a game any way and the two who play ahead of him are still yet to create a single decent chance at goal LOL...……. 7 apps 0 assists 0 goals between them too. But it is ok, Cause they can dribble at least LOL
-
A good "Target Man" and 2 reliable, Premier League quality Centre Backs
Mosin replied to Saint IQ's topic in The Saints
Having a target man wont help cause we still wont be able to create any thing for him to hold up / head on and finish if he is even in the box. Its up to the attacking wide players Redmond and Moi to deliver a decent ball into the box lol -
Why say good times? 98 mins played, still the 2nd most creative player for us even though Redmond and Moi have had 7 apps ( 8 if you include the cup ) and has more clear cut chances than both put together.. same team week in week out, bad performance still got 0 clear cut chances made since Everton game and JWP still cant get a game LOL. But its ok, cause Redmond can dribble. This is the best comment ive found from sky LOL " 32: After a delay for some pushing and shoving, Southampton take the corner short and, well, they make a complete and utter pig's ear of it " OMG the match report is full of stuff like this LOL " 44: Oh my word! Elyounoussi takes one of the worst corners you'll see. He drifts the ball behind well before it even gets close to the front post bizarre. " And JWP cant even get on the pitch. Least he can put a ball in / cross / make a clear cut chances to put the ball in the back of the net.
-
NR is always doing that, nothing new. although if I am curious on the others players, who else was arguing?
-
Na cause if we played ok, ill watch the game. but if not then I wont bother and will just read the match report
-
JWP play or did we not create any clear cut chances again?
