  1. Going to use this tactic in a message to some mates who might not have seen this news yet, thanks Edit: worked a treat
  2. Hmmm me too. While it wasn't always clear what Krueger did, and his interviews were difficult to listen to, I always had the impression he acceded to Reed for transfers. And of course when Reed left, he appeared to be involved in the decision to appoint Hasenhuttl, which was obviously a masterstroke.
  3. Most of those posts are pretty reasonable to be honest - only a handful of them (two by the same poster) predicting at least 4 goals for them. Most going for a close game and understandably backing their team to bounce back from the weekend.
  4. I'm not sure if he keeps getting dropped - he played the last game and looks like he played quite well. The reason I posted all that was because Ex Lion Tamer used stats to try and say he was doing badly in Spain, but actually most of the stats suggests he isn't (even if he's not doing brilliantly).
  5. The commentators (probably Carragher) even mentioned like it was a good thing. Can't remember the exact wording but it was something like "good from the referee, he wasn't going to give it until Henderson spoke to him". My immediate reaction was "Errr what?!"
  6. Unfortunately this was another game where our lack of fitness caught up with us. We were excellent for an hour but started to get sloppy and started to defend like it was the last few minutes when there was still half an hour to go. It felt like Liverpool would always get chances like that, it’s just whether they would be profligate when they came. Obviously you expect a team playing with high energy and mostly without the ball to tire, but hopefully a bit longer than 60 minutes. That comes down to a crap preseason and there’s only a bit Ralph can do to improve it each week. I just hope we can take that performance into the next few games. I’m confident we can, but won’t relax until we get another win. At the moment I’m just pigsick that we came close to ruining the party for the media and that odious club but didn’t quite manage it.
  7. Yep. Turned it off on their third. So galling hearing them have to check themselves (and sometimes not) with everything they say- “And that’s great news... errr for him and the fans”. Fck off.
  8. Have played really well but starting to tire, we're defending like it's the last 5 minutes, but we've got 25 left.
  9. It wasn't offside because it was Salah, don't you understand?!
  10. It's not that bad though, is it? His minutes equate to just over 18 matches. So that's means every 3-4 games he either scores or sets up a goal. His average rating on whosscored makes him the 50th best performer in La Liga this season, and has the most successful dribbles per game (Messi is second). I know stats can be misleading, so I'm not saying this is proof of him being brilliant, but if you're going to use goals & assists stats against him, I'd say there is also evidence that suggests the contrary.
  11. One of the comments: "Delighted for Mauricio Pellegrino who was never given a proper chance at southamton and was badly let down by the players indeed they have not improved since Mauricio is a brilliant manager and leganes fc are lucky to have him". Must be a Portsmouth fan...

    Danny Rose

I think this is probably true in some cases, but of course that doesn't excuse it - the person suffering the abuse doesn't suffer it any less because the person "isn't a racist deep down". After we lost at home to Cardiff I heard one of our fans shouting something about Sala's death as he trudged down the gangway. He didn't seem a particularly nice man, but I doubt he was genuinely happy about the plane crash, he was just lashing out in any way he could. Still didn't make it right though.
  13. This, even though I dislike City immensely.
  14. Looking better, but still feels like classic Brighton. Defend for their lives and score with their only good chance of the game...
  15. Great defending. With hindsight you can always say the striker could have done this or that to do better but the block came out of nowhere
  16. I read that as a joke tbh - for those people who are quick to throw seasoned pros on the scrap heap at the first hint of a promising youngster... but I could be wrong.
  17. I'm more of a DM = 4 man.
  18. I don't have anything against them as a club really, but this Brighton team seem to have an incredible knack of getting goals in improbable circumstances. Have they ever actually played well? Ever?!
  19. Agree with most of that, but Walker is also quite good one on one defensively. Again, mainly because his pace means he is hard to beat, but you can't really take speed out of the equation - he might only be good because of his speed, but it still means he's good!
  20. Well it depends whether you think England changed their gameplan to suit Trippier, or whether Trippier was better suited for the gameplan they had. If you're playing with overlapping full backs getting to the byline and pulling the ball back across goal (like City do) then yes Walker is better. But Trippier has a better delivery into the box, he isn't just a set piece taker, and for this reason I would argue that if your gameplan is to work the ball wide and put crosses in then he is better suited for that.
  21. Walker is a better RB than Trippier - agree (RB, not RWB). faster - agree better offensively - disagree in that Trippier's final ball is much better and defensively - agree The difference is that Trippier played as RWB and Walker was still deployed in the team. As a wing back your defensive qualities aren't as important. Obviously if you think Walker is better going forward then fine, but people often confuse 'getting forward' with quality. Walker suits Man City because they look to get in behind teams and pull balls back across the six yard box. England don't do this as much as rely on crosses from further out, often in the air. I'm not sure how anyone could argue that Walker beats Trippier in that regard.
  22. I dislike Man City immensely (and Chelsea to a lesser extent) on a matter of principle of how they have bought their success. But everything about Liverpool is odious, not least van Dijk virtually going on strike to force his move to them (and the way the media - filled with scousers - encouraged it). I feel similarly about Spurs really - if any club 'deserves' to win something as a reward for running the club the right way it's them, but I'm still bitter about the fact that it's the guy they nabbed from us that has brought them that success.
  23. Yep (on Trippier). Thought Wan-Bissaka was superb against us.
  24. Not sure that's right actually. Walker did play in the World Cup, but as part of the back 3. Trippier is better offensively than Walker, whose best attribute going forward is his pace (as opposed to Trippier who is an excellent crosser). Walker's pace was obviously a valuable asset defensively as well, and he's generally a better defender than many give him credit for. Playing as a CB was a bit of an issue for him in terms of positioning but with a back 3/5 I can see why Trippier was preferred as the wing back.
  25. Haha, my thoughts exactly - I'd never wish them to win anything but it might be our only chance of being able to sign someone!
