Might be reading it wrong but looks like we're in a different section to Portsmouth. They're in "South - Section 1", along with Chelsea, Reading & West Ham. We're in "South - Section 2" with Brighton, Norwich & West Brom.

Isn't that Norwich kit virtually the same as the one they had around 1993, and generally considered one of the most awful kits of all time?
-
Doubt it's any more than wild speculation, but as I haven't seen his name appear on here - a few mentions of us being linked with Ogenyi Onazi of Lazio.
-
The shirts actually look pretty good from the side and the back...
-
I think Ayew is similar to Wijnaldum - pops up with some goals here and there, looks good in MotD highlights, but over the course of a season doesn't add enough to the team.
-
Although I didn't like the Pony shirt at the time, strangely I don't think the red one looks too bad looking back at pictures now. The blue kit is still pretty gross though!

While I share concerns about how we will miss Wanyama's presence, you don't necessarily need to get in a 'like for like replacement' every time a player leaves, especially if we're going to change our style of play.

The Toluca kit doesn't look very good, but it looks better than our home shirt because the rest of the shirt is one colour. Not only do the stripes look weird, but our collar looks a different shade of red, the side panel has thinner stripes and a weird chunk of red and the white yoke doesn't go as far back over the shoulders as the Toluca kit either (though that may just be an illusion). It's the same reason that while I don't like our away kit, it's not quite the abomination our home strip is!

Not only that, but you could argue that it feels better to earn success through smart signings and managing the club effectively rather than just pouring cash in. It does for me, I'd feel a certain sense of embarrassment if the reason Saints were doing well was just because we were outspending everyone else.

Article on BBC with Peter Coates saying how Stoke have found it difficult so far but plan to make signings soon. He says "you just have to be patient and hope things drop for you." - imagine the kerfuffle on here if Reed or Ralph said something similar!
-
I probably agreed more with Collymore than anyone else! Says a lot that they're not keeping him on while Brazil and Quinn continue to spout nonsense and erode the braincells of anyone unfortuante enough to tune in to their shows.

When I renewed my membership, I received an email with a Puel "thank you" video. I'm sorry to say it was nothing short of excruciating, you could tell he was just reading off a piece of paper and it felt like he didn't even know what he was saying...!

Bertrand! Great news!

I don't know much about Ziyech, but it sounds like he could be a great purchase, for a reasonable amount of money too. Given how many people on here have touted his name, I can't believe that the club radar would have missed him, so have to have faith that there is a good reason if we don't go for him! Agree that Sigurdsson would be a brilliant signing. Would also seem a good fit for him, but for some reason I just can't see it happening.

It was only a matter of time before someone called for Jesus to be on the banner. As much as he was a popular figure, I'm not sure Ostlund warrants that level of recognition.

With the possible exception of Middlesbrough's home shirt, I think ours is the worst kit in the entire league. It's worse now than when I first saw it - the side panel isn't consistent with any other part and looks more like they've used some offcuts to fill the remaining space. The collar is atrocious. And obviously the show stopper for the wrong reasons is the ludicrous white panel. I quite like the shorts, but that's about it!
-
Not surprised his face is hidden, could be quite embarrassing if people knew his identity. Imagine your neighbours knowing you bought that all-red kit.

While the amount of money sloshing about in football is astonishing and at times sickening, I'm not sure it's the "moving for money" people find difficult to put up with, but rather dressing up their motivations as something else, like 'ambition'. In truth it's probably no different to any other walk of life - you're unlikely to say at an interview "the main reason I'm looking to leave is because I want a pay rise", but by the same token football is not a standard work environment or market place.

I had my doubts about Fonte in the Championship, never mind the Premier League. Even though that seems wide of the mark given what he has achieved, by the same margin I think he has improved immeasurely since our promotion, as both an individual player and a leader. Of course, no-one on a national level would pick up on it, but we all know that it's no coincidence that Pepe has looked like a Real Madrid rather than Real Salt Lake player since Fonte has lined up alongside him.
-
Pelle did some great things for us and often got way too much stick, but given the price and where he's gone, I'm not too down about losing him so long as we put the money to good use. It's a very rare (probably unprecedented) occasion where my girlfriend will be more disappointed about Saints selling a player than I am!

If Jose returns from the Euros and announces he wants to join Everton, or Liverpool, or Spurs, would he still warrant a place on the legends banner? If so, put him up there. If not, wait until he has moved on or retired.

Not sure the fans would be against Chamberlain though, the circumstances of him leaving were quite different to the likes of Hoddle, Lallana or Alderweireld.
