  1. How is there the same amount of injury time today as there was on Thursday? Oh, silly me, it's because Man City are trying to score.
  2. Did you watch the Inter game?!
  3. "A point would see Manchester City top, but Guardiola likes to drive up standards". What a load of superfluous rubbish. He wants to win the game, that's all!
  4. Also, was Kolarov not the last man when he fouled Austin? All the commentators were banging on about was how it was a heavy touch, he ran into him, it wasn't dangerous etc...
  5. Poor play from Clasie - giving the header away before lunging into an tackle he could have avoided with better control. Having said that, not even sure it was a foul never mind a booking.
  6. I was watching the replay thinking "how can that guy in the middle not be offside? Stupid rule, and typical that once again we get nothing at this ground..."
  7. I'm sat in the san siro trying to remind myself that before the game I said that the result wasn't the be all and end all, but having dominated the first half (felt like Inter barely touched the ball first 40 mins), im feeling absolutely gutted that we haven't been able to celebrate a goal. Not scoring when we had chances gave them a chance to figure out a game plan at HT, and in fairness to them, they got it right.Close down the full backs and force us back inside, and we ran out of ideas. Seems that it works better for us NOT to play well first half!
  8. Unfortunately this doesn't surprise me.
  9. Ever the glass-half-full man!
  10. Not sure it's unkind - surely playing a similar number of games for the first team and the reserves would be the definition of a fringe player?! It's not a description of his ability, but rather of how often he played. The fact that the actual question says he left for Swindon makes it slightly more gettable as an answer too.
  11. Nice one, thanks! Got 44/65, Saints History definitely the toughest round for me. Edit: Going to print these out and give them to my dad on the plane to Milan, see which ones he'd get that I didn't!
  12. I guess it depends on the definition. In terms of an occasion, and something that will live long in fans' memories, a trip to the San Siro must be hard to beat. But equally I imagine the Coventry 2012 promotion day, or the Everton 99 great escape day will also live long in people's memories and arguably (ok, not even arguably) more important.
  13. I'm a big fan of Tadic and agree his general play was good, but his crossing wasn't up to its normal standard, particularly in first half. I think 8 is fair - he was good but I've seen him play better.
  14. I always thought Romeu had potential to be an upgrade on Wanyama if the team and style around him evolved. As much as Romeu is strong in the challenge, I still don't think he will (and maybe never will) be up to Wanyama's standard in terms of a destroyer and we will notice this more in games against the top sides. However, I think his contribution across the whole season may well end up being greater than Wanyama's (especially if he doesn't pick up 3 red card's worth of suspensions...) Definitely one of my favourite players, has quick feet and good composure on the ball to compliment his tough tackling.
  15. 85-91 is a bit before my time, but Gittens is a pretty obscure answer, don't recall him ever being more than a fringe player? Would be impressed if anyone pulled that one out the bag! (Also it looks like he left in 87 not 85)
  16. On http://www.malpensaexpress.it/en/ it looks like trains to N. Cadorna are running every half an hour until 1am (hopefully we'll be arriving way before then!) - even though it might not be close to where you're going, it might at least save a chunk of an expensive taxi ride?
  17. Think trains will still be running - the lady of the apartment I'm staying at said it costs about 90E to taxi all the way (we're staying slightly North-West of the centre), and recommended getting a train to Cadorna station and the a taxi from there, as the connecting trains don't run very often as it gets late. I expect the trains to the other main stations will be running as well.
  18. Wednesday 20:25 Gatwick - Malpensa (EasyJet) Flying back early Saturday morning (about 7:30am)
  19. Could you apply the same argument to Van Dijk's foul in the first half? I don't think we should be too worried about "only scoring three", especially as Heaton made a few brilliant saves. If anything I actually felt our final ball/decision was disappointing - Tadic, while always a livewire, wasn't crossing very well - which means we could have had even more shots on goal!
  20. Any example questions?
  21. Just seen him at Fulham - not a bad way to spend a lunch break, especially when a chat with Matt Le Tiss is thrown in for an added bonus!
  22. Where did you get his schedule? Fulham & QPR may be close enough for me to get to from work, or Chelsea from home depending on timings. Edit... Just found it - will try and get along to Fulham in my lunch break!
  23. Sounds a bit like Bobby Madley

    Injury Watch

Does anyone actually enjoy international football, aside from perhaps the tournaments? Would there not be a way to get rid of the mid-season international breaks, have the season start later and/or finish earlier, then have an entire international period in the summer - alternate years including a big tournament at the end. It really is a p1sstake that we lose so many players, Bertrand is an especially key player in our current formation as well, really hope it's nothing serious.
  25. So it was, guess the memorable goal and memorable game with same scorelines have merged over the years! In which case then, the Beattie game was the one I remember fondly, but obviously still remember the Delap strike well!
