  1. Holt 35th minute booking?
  2. Sounds like they are all over us
  3. Straight to pens...
  4. Yup, that's what someone on the Norwich commentary said, response was 'Think the cold might have got into their machinery'
  5. Norwich commentary: City good on counter; saints dominating posession
  6. Torquay 3-0 up away to Stockport
  7. Awful music isn't it!
  8. Make the most of it... Osborne will have plans for the MoD budget (hope it's just the middle management and external consultants eh?)
  9. Fair enough. Still, think you've been very lucky to get through 12 years of Ryanair without a problem... (in fact, that must be pretty unique, and I'm sure the Ryanair marketing office would love to hear from you (they might even throw a few freebies your way if you're lucky!). As for the 'trolley dolly bag'... come on! Shame they got knocked out of this year's 'Worst Company in Britain awards', but hey, it was close: http://www.bitterwallet.com/worst-company-in-britain-2009-ryanair-v-dsgi/22716
  10. Hmmm, so Hypo's projected team is almost legal, with 5 players from our most used 11. Only one change needed then. Bart Thomas Perry Trotman Mills Antonio Wotton Mellis Lallana Papa Lambert
  11. All I want is a basic service too, my only requirements for air travel are: 1) Arrive at destination (within say 30 mins of scheduled time) 2) Not be charged any extras for basics (such as checking in! or being allowed to carry a change of clothes) I don't have or want an electron. I want to take some form of overnight bag with me wherever I go. My only other requirement is getting to the destination (on time). Just like a bus, Ryanair frequently fail to depart on time (if at all). And when your flight does get messed up, having a customer services who actually attempt to fix your issue would be useful.
  12. I can't see the government stepping in. Yes they are a flagship brand, but they're not turning a profit, have lost most of the loyal customer base they had 20 years ago, are not critical to the country in any way, and it's not like the Government is in any fit state to throw more cash about. The only reason Brown would put his hand in his pocket over BA would be to try and hand the Tories a future problem. I'm left of centre, and normally back union action, but only where it is legitimate. The fact that this is scheduled for the festive season is disgusting. If the union had a strong case, I'm sure they would have put out media statements... but so far all we have heard is a pretty weak set of arguments, which fall a long way short of providing justification for either the action, or the timing. It reminds me of the appauling RMT action earlier this year (unfortunately the tube has virtually got a transport monopoly, meaning they are unlikely to be hit in the pocket; however, BA has some serious rutheless corporate competitors) [NB - Ryanair have already lost my custom; I don't care how cheap they go. There is a basic level of service, and they fail to provide it.]
  13. Lallana is much more likely to attract interest IMO
  14. It's very simple. Thatcher took a wrecking ball to the social fabric of the country. She was wrong, twisted and evil however you look at it. Blair took a wrecking ball to the social fabric of another country. Again he was without doubt evil and twisted. Both ignored their own parties, both were very right of centre. Hmmm I can see a theme here, never trust a Tory (whether they are dressed in blue as a wolf or dressed in red sheep's clothing).
  15. MLT is in every way a living legend to all true saints fans. Nothing will ever convince me otherwise (certainly not some interweb skate/troll)
  16. Whatever they are! IMO christian beliefs are a good cover up to make people feel better about themselves without actually having to do or change or think anything.
  17. What about the 0-0 with Colchester at home? Harding was at fault for their two best chances IMO... but then what do I know...
  18. Of course Sears is only at Palace on loan. But does anyone else sound good enough to poach? How about Stern John as back-up to Lambert (or José Fonte I've heard he's a good CB?) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crystal_Palace_F.C._season_2009%E2%80%9310
  19. What a fool! Think this bit is the funniest: "Because of the biofuel scam, world food prices have doubled. That it because of the global warming scare, which you won't look at the science of. As a result of that, millions are dying in third world countries because food prices have doubled because of the biofuel scam, because of the global warming scare." Doesn’t he realise that bio fuel is almost unilaterally discredited as a viable mechanism for preventing climate change. It is purely a mechanism that the wealthy are using to delay the onset of peak oil. I for one hate the science of climate change being tarnished by association with biofuel. Whichever capitalist dreamt up the concept of linking fuel prices to food prices has blood on their hands. Algae fuel production... now that should be taken more seriously...
  20. Well I imagine they'd need to raid the reserves, as they would be VERY thin in the keeping and defending positions... but, out of their current first team they could just about assemble this team (if fit): Ashdown Finnan Hreiðarsson Mokoena Hughes Diop O'Hara Yebda Brown Dindane Piquionne Subs from: Niemi !! Vanden Borre Mullins Tommy Smith Kanu Obviously, that isn't possible during the African Nations!
  21. African Nations: Nadir Belhadj; Kevin-Prince Boateng; Hassan Yebda; John Utaka; Aruna Dindane; N****wo Kanu Loans (possibly) ending in Jan: Jamie O'Hara (All other players on loan are for the whole season I'm afraid) Sold in a fire sale... hmmm, once you remove the loanee's, then take out the geriatrics, who I can't see commanding much of a transfer fee (Hayden Mullins; Richard Hughes; Papa Bouba Diop; Michael Brown; Steve Finnan; Angelos Basinas; N****wo Kanu; Hermann Hreiðarsson). Then take out the untested youth, who aren't really worth much at the moment. You are then left with the following players who might be able to command a reasonalble transfer fee: Asmir Begovic - Looks like a good young keeper - say £1.5M for the potential? Marc Wilson - Defender, 22, prem experience say £1M? Kevin-Prince Boateng - They paid £4M(ish) for him in the summer Younes Kaboul - 23, despite being error prone has >50 premier games under his belt. Spurs paid £7M for him, so I guess he'd be worth at about £4M Mike Williamson - Never worth the £2-3M paid for him, but still only 26. Coudl see him moving on for £1-2M Tal Ben Haim - 27, and reasonable quality. Expect him to fetch £4M Nadir Belhadj - 27, the paid about £3M for him. John Utaka - 27, Celtic are sniffing about. The Skates paid £7M... would still be worth something (even with only 6 goals from >50 Pompey appearances... can that be right?) David James - 39! Don't think he's worth more than a few hundred thousand. He can't have more than one or two seasons left.... A perfect signing for Spurs then Now everyone knows that Pompey are, shall be say, a tad down on their luck, so I doubt there will be any top-dollar transactions. If they are very lucky, they might just be able to fetch £15-20 million by off-loading that lot. Which should see them cover the debt-repayment for a few months yet. With Janurary approaching, I can't see anyone calling in the administrator's just yet. Obviously, if no new cash is found, and the transfer window closes without these players being moved on, I can see the creditors getting rather twitchy...
  22. Got to wonder what's going through Tal Ben Haim's mind right now... He only signed a four year deal to play under Paul Hart in August, but now find's himself playing for Avram Grant (again). In case you missed it the first time around, they don't exactly see eye-to-eye: "Jose Mourinho is the reason I came to Chelsea," said Ben Haim, "and if I knew Avram grant was going to be the coach I would have signed for another club." ... "I knew nothing good would come for me with Grant as Chelsea coach." http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/2297506/Pressure-mounts-on-Chelseas-Avram-Grant.html Oh dear...
  23. If they run out of cash, they could always borrow some on credit. (Would you trust this financial institution with your money?) http://www.pfcfinancialservices.co.uk/creditcards/
  24. Died a death when the internet replaced it. Who anyone buys the Echo is beyond me.
  25. It seems the media has finally caught on. Any one of these reports would have been worthy enough to discuss on this thread a few weeks ago, but now there are so many reports flying about its become impossible to keep up: http://news.google.co.uk/news/more?um=1&cf=all&ned=uk&cf=all&ncl=diwSmL8_aRZyn7M62PvaGS1h5LnrM
