  1. Victor, if St Landrew's advice doesn't work (which it does on Firefox, but doesn't on Internet Explorer) you can always use 'View Source' to find the pictures.... In the source file, search for 'javaImages' and you should be able to see all of the images listed. Simply copy the path (say '/javaImages/6d/ba/0,,10280~7912045,00.jpg') , and add 'http://www.saintsfc.co.uk' to the begining... as so http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/javaImages/6d/ba/0,,10280~7912045,00.jpg Then you can use that url to navigate to an image you can right click and 'save picture as' on... [bTW the fact the OS has repeated the alt text for each image is in breach of the W3C accessibility standards... oh noes (even I can't sink to that level of pedantic can I?]

  3. Agreed. Agreed. It would be pushing it to call our strategy 'strategic'. Again, agree, however, this was never the stated aim of the action. Had it been the war would have been even more illegal. In addition I would argue: Saddam posed no miliatary threat whatsoever to the West. Saddam posed a moderate threat to neighbouring countries. The 2003 invasion of Iraq has indirectly (but entirely predictably) caused more civilian deaths and suffering than Saddam achieved in 23 years. The 2003 invasion of Iraq has (entirely predictably) encouraged anti-western sentiment throughout the Middle East. Iraq under Saddam had little time for terrorists. The 2003 invasion has (entirely predictably) resulted in a massive increase in the number of terrorists (and terrorist sympathisers) in Iraq (and globally) Iraq under Saddam had little time for religious extremists. The 2003 invasion has (entirely predictably) resulted in a massive increase in the number of religious extremists in Iraq. There were, and are, far worse dictatorships in the world than Saddam ever was. Any argument that toppling Saddam was a good thing, needs first to justify why the west targetted a lesser dictator first. The 2003 invasion has (entirely predictably) resulted in a massive cost the the UK taxpayer. There is (and was) no concievable justification for toppling Saddam. Any fair an just society would prosecute Blair - not for revenge, but to help prevent any future Prime Minister from abusing their position so rashly.

  5. Do you think they find Hitler a little too liberal for their liking?
  6. I think I would still be left of centre, and on the fence over the strike action. I found Duncan's comments interesting, it sounds like BA are a rotten employer, and the staff certainly have my sympathy. However the strike is badly timed (despite what the union is trying to say about choosing Christmas to maximise the pressure on BA). It seems like BA has a nasty corporate culture, filled with backstabbing and veilled threats, but the main demands the union is trying to put forward (preventing redundancy) just don't seem to be a fair in the current economical climate (irrespective of how bad the employer is in other ways). I hope ACAS help both sides to reach a sensible conclusion, something like: radical change of the corporate culture, safeguard 90% of jobs, for calling off the strike until after the legal action in Feb/March. Being left of centre doesn't mean you have to support all union action, but it does help you put things into perspective.

  9. Think it's all fine for the lad to have run onto the pitch. However he's had his fun now (several times). If it were to happen again I think the club would have to look into it.
  10. Which of course depends upon where the centre is. As Britain thankfully can't compete with America when it comes to god-fearing, gun-toting nuts, our centre ground is naturally further to the left. This, of course, leaves individuals who would be just right of centre if they lived in America a long way adrift in British terms. Perhaps our rabid right wing isn't as frothy round the jowls as it's American counterparts, but compared to the rest of British society they are a long way from holding the centreground. Worth noting the political compass survey has an American audience... plenty of people who claim to be just right of centre turned out to be just to the left... This would of course move you away from the centre, and out to the right.
