  1. Shame Derrett granted Cardiff 70 days grace last year... Hope she gets out of the wrong side of bed tomorrow...
  2. Mark Fry?
  3. Well you did say 'They'
  4. So Derrett wound up King's Lynn immeadiately; and granted Chester 42 days... but on both occasions essentially sided with HMRC
  5. Cheers MLG, just found it (see above). Interestingly the two cases immediately after the Pompey ones are: 22181 /2009 Southend United Football Club Limited (The) 22182 /2009 Cardiff City Football Club Limited Looks like they have grouped them together (why? raised at the same time? or perhaps to be overseen by the same Judge?)... But anyhow, both of those cases have been dismissed I think: Cardiff: http://www.cardiffcityfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10335~1906615,00.html Southend: http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2009/nov/09/southend-united-avoid-winding-up-order
  6. Here it is in the 'Not before 11:30 am' section: "22180 /2009 Portsmouth City Football Club Limited 313 /2010 Portsmouth City Football Club Limited " http://www.hmcourts-service.gov.uk/cms/list_companies_winding.htm
  7. Not sure which court to look in, but I can't see any sign of it yet! http://www.hmcourts-service.gov.uk/cms/courthearings.htm
  8. HMRC say: ", the Revenue has insisted on complete confidentiality around Tuesday's talks with the club." HMRC mean: "Shut up Storrie" http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story?id=738917&sec=england&cc=5739
  9. HMRC should give them 28 days to find the entire £7.5 million. The Premier League should give the Pompey fans what they wanted, and give them an extra-special helping-hand, by re-opening the transfer window for any club wanting to buy from Portsmouth for the next 28 days. Would be the fairest result all round IMO
  10. The discussions can't be going all that well if Storrie feels he has to appeal to public sympathy. Chainrai's role of muddying the waters is also made very clear. £1.8 million is not enough. The company could easily have raised the full £7.5 million had it sold more players. That's what any other company would have needed to do. Pompey have had ample opportunity.
  11. About 95% likely I'd say. 45% Pompey enter admin tomorrow (game on) 30% Pompey cut a deal with HMRC tomorrow (game on) 15% Court rules against Pompey, gives them 28 days to pay up (game on) 5% Court rules in favor of Pompey (game on) 5% Court rules against Pompey, puts them straight into liquidation (no game).
  12. Rumours on skate board that club trying to get rid of their youth team on the sly: http://www.pompeyonline.com/forums/showthread.php?t=55539

  14. Well that depends on whether you believe the dubious theory... If Arkady and Chainrai hate each other then, you'd imagine that it was Chainrai's money that was loaned... but if Arkady and Chainrai are in it together, then it could be that Chainrai sued Gaydamak to get his account unfrozen, and then a couple of weeks later lend (aka give) the same money back to Gaydamak. For me the jury's still out on whether Chainrai and Gaydamak are working together. I suggested we'd know for sure depending on whether Chainrai kept Jacob and Azougy at Fratton. I thought either both would stay (i.e. Chainrai working alongside Gaydamak), or both would go (i.e. Chainrai is his own man)... I didn't count on the half-way option (the fraudster gets the boot, while Al Mirage's lawyer gets to stay)...
  15. So basically, either: Pompey signed a player outside of the transfer window. As there is little chance of any fine being paid, points should be deducted. or Pompey played too many loanees. As there is little chance of any fine being paid, points should be deducted.
  16. I didn't think Chainrai was still owed anything - wasn't the amount won following the court case released from Arkady's frozen bank account? I'm sure the land around the ground will have some value though. A property developer might pay 10m for both the stadium and surrounding land... so Chainrai might be abel to re-coop some of his loan?
  17. Superb article, with great quotes:
  18. So why is Mark Jacob's still issuing statements in the club's name? Surely Chainrai has ousted Al Mirage's lawyer? http://www.google.com/hostednews/ukpress/article/ALeqM5hvQiJStZBsaqJJw17VCTouX1_iYQ

  20. Depending on what happens on the 10th of course! If HMRC lets them off the hook before they play us it wouldn't be half as funny...
  21. Sorry Joey, but that's just wrong... The best way to calculate a club's hardcore is to see how low their league attendance has dropped. Over the last thirty years the lowest our average average league attendance has ever dropped to is 14,544 .The equivenlent for the Skates is 8,269. They have a significantly smaller hardcore than we do.
  22. William Hill have opened a book on how long Chainrai will be in Chairman... "Odds of 6/4 are currently available that the new owners will not be in charge come the end of February" http://www.bettingpress.com/category/Football/Portsmouth-FC--How-long-for-Pompeys-latest-owners-201002050053/
  23. If you remove the tacky advertising a larger than usual number of shirts will be purchased (who wants to be a walking billboard?) If you sell more shirts than usual and they are too similar to the next years kit, you won't shift as many shirts as usual next season. I.e. if the club were to do a once of special 'striped' shirt, the subsequent season's striped kit (with sponsorship) won't sell an well as usual. The only sensible thing for the club to do would be to make the 125year kit significantly different from the usual striped kit. A year with a red sash ticks all of the boxes.
  24. 600! Why on earth do the skates do that? Are you including ball boys? How about the brown envelope carriers? Or perhaps you're counting the Thai ladyboys?
  25. If Chainrai is genuine to his word, his choice is stark. He is about £20 million down, and wants to re-coop as much of it as possible. Option 1 Throw good money after bad Chainrai opts to seek another owner, to keep the club afloat he needs to pay HMRC £7.5million. By the end of Feburary his loan to the club will be over £30 million, and growing fast. Chainrai will already be owed more by the club than he could ever hope to recoop. Net personal loss £30-40 million. Option 2 Cut your losses Chainrai realises HMRC are serious and can't be delayed. He sends the skates into admin on 9th Feb. Administrators manage to find £5million and some development land in Fratton, which are largely split between Gaydamak and Chainrai. Net personal loss £10-12 million. Question is, how good at basic maths is this international businessman?
