Paddy Power pays up on relegation: http://www.bettingpro.com/category/Football/PaddyPower-pays-out-on-Portsmouth-being-relegated-2010022500162/ & William Hill http://www.bettingpro.com/category/Football/WilliamHill-Pay-Out-on-Portsmouth-Relegation-Bets-2010022500160/

Pesky Session variables huh... guess it'll have to be a copy and paste job then!

Nice bit of gloom from Avram (how out of character eh?): http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11674_5980104,00.html

Any source for that WR? Surely if true the EPL would be opening themselves up to a lot of legal issues... And since when did the EPL become a bank anyway!
-
Not sure whether it's 75% of all debt or just unsecured, but each month HMRC's tax bill be be getting ever bigger... As Chainrai has now reduced his stake to c. £10m, the total debt has gone down to c. £55-60m. This means HMRC already have between 20 & 30% of the debt. Oh, and it's still growing. (as I said before, Chainrai, HMRC, and football debt won't settle for less than 100%. And between them they are already due about £35-40m, or 58-72% of the total debt... Without c. £40million, they can wave the CVA goodbye).

If the skate chap is right, then why would Chainrai bother with admin? Surely admin will just cost him £4m a month, and that will be an ongoing charge until the transfer window opens. Surely Chainrai would be better off cutting his losses and opting for liquidation on Monday?
-
Unlike our Administration, I can't see many of Pompey's creditors accepting a reduced amount for what they owe. Chainrai: (£10m?) will demand 100%, as the only secured creditor he stands to make all of his money back. The only reason for accepting less would be to keep the club alive for the loan money... HMRC: (£18m?) will demand 100% Gaydamak: (£30m?) might agree to a lesser amount as he will walk away with the valuable development plots. Football creditors: (£10m?) will demand 100%, as they know Pompey will have another point deduction next season if they dont' cough up. Others: (£1m?) their reaction will vary, and the amounts are releatively small As such, anyone purchasing them from admin is going to have to pay quite a few of the creditors in full. Guesstimate: A buyer would have to come up with at least £10million for a CCC club with no assets and 20 points deductions, who are possibly ineligible for the league; or at least £40million for a CCC club with no assets.

So Chainrai is funding the alleged admin, and I can only assume he is doing so for financial gain. By renting the stadium back the Pompey, Chainrai will stand to make £15million (over 15 years). However, each month that admin drags on he will be another £4 million out of pocket. By the time the transfer window re-opens Chainrai will have put more money into the club than he stands to gain via stadium rent. I can only assume that Chainrai is hoping for a quick sale after they enter admin. It's not even that much of a gamble, as if the buyers they have lined up don't come up with the cash, he can simply cut his losses and put the club into liquidation.

What's the concensus on here? Would we rather see the few given a quick death, and get re-born in the Zamaretto as a historyless shell, or for them to have their death dragged out over the next 5 years, as they are slowly abandoned by their few remaining fans, and flop down the table? I'm undecided. Oh, and while you're trying to decide, take a gander at this article... http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/football/premier_league/portsmouth/article7039197.ece "Scudamore explained that he could not sanction an emergency payment of next season’s broadcast revenue to save the club from administration"

Bye bye Pardew?

BBC only has a single event for the second half on their live text: "45:01 The second half kicks off." Useful!

Has nothing happened at all this half yet? Have we even kicked off yet?

??: Still can't see "Levi" anywhere on the page... (perhaps my browser is caching it?)

Levi's name appears to have been removed already... (unless I'm going blind)

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1253207/Portsmouth-set-administration-takeover-talks-hit-trouble.html Wonder which Administrators have just signed up for their own redundancy? Or perhaps Chainrai hasn't yet approached any Admins...

A year ago, a traing ground bust up at Pompey would have been big news on here. I love the way they are so far up to their necks that this has become relatively small news...

Won't his grandchildren be too busy wearing red and white?

Not sure what this means: http://brand-e.biz/powering-the-premiership-with-tweets_6053.html Does that mean the Pompey fans produce 377,000 forum posts a year? (i.e. this thread alone is larger than 4% of all pompey forum posts, on all of their fan sites combined?)
-
Do we want to take on their debt? I'd love it if the Pompey Trust were sunk by this along with the club. That would sure scupper their attempts to establish a non-league phoenix....

Take it the skates are now playing 3 up front?
