  1. Regardless of what their fans think, they aren't classed as a big club these days. They have a strong history, but I think if you asked anyone in this country or overseas they wouldn't say "Man Utd, Arsenal, Chelsea, Man City and....oh yes, Everton". Players won't chose to go there because of their history, because they've done nothing for decades. If they do go there it's about playing football for a PL club, and the money on offer. IMO, they're seen as just another team battling against the possibility of mid-table mediocrity.
  2. Was that a casting event for 118 118?
  3. He'll have to learn to live without chips and mayonnaise and get used to delicacy that is the chip barm, with battered mars bar for pud.
  4. Any idea how long Watson signed for in 2014? If he still has a few years left we can simply ask him to stay. He wasn't brought in to the club by Koeman specifically (I don't think) and so isn't part of his entourage....no doubt i'll be corrected if i'm wrong.
  5. I'd say that if you already have a strong side and want to strengthen in 3-4 areas it would be enough. But with the changes they'll need to make I don't think £100m will touch the sides.
  6. I went to Uni in Liverpool, and spent many hours with scallies - but I never realised that delusions of grandeur were one of the prominent side effects of incest.
  7. Regardless of what's happened, having just seen the awards dinner video when Les was asked about how RK had done last season..and his deadpan "OK" reply, it just seemed an odd way to answer the question. At least the way he said it was. He either can't deliver a gag/amusing quip or he meant it. The response from the attendees was totally flat, and I'm pretty sure this wasn't down to editing as it was on the club YouTube site. If he was joking, I've not heard a joke fall quite so flat in a while. If he wasn't joking, probably not the time or place for that sort of reply. Makes you wonder if he's not the easiest to work with.
  8. http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/news/14536889.Koeman__agrees_deal__to_join_Everton/ As if we didn't already know.
  9. I would chuckle a fair bit if we sign a top, proven manager and it becomes public knowledge that we're paying him £6m a year.
  10. I hope the people who believe that change has only improved us are right.....another 5 managerial changes and we've got the PL title in the bag.
  11. Other than his salary, I think this is a bad move for him. Just can't see how it can work out well, even if he's given the reported £100m plus proceeds of sale for Lukaku, Stones etc.
  12. Nice to think that this could be yet another summer where we become the laughing stock of the PL. I suppose it's a possible that Les etc have made this an easy decision for RK based on the fact that they're not too fussed about him staying on. I just really liked RK (still will if he turns any offer down from Tranmere 2nd XI)
  13. Or Zlatan hasn't signed us.
  14. I just can't believe that this has anything to do with the salary on offer.....he's not short of a bob or two, and when has ever come across as the type who would move for the bucks? Sure he can live on £2.3m per year quite easily. I would just find it hard to believe a wage rise to go to a club that could ruin his chances of a big job next, would be enough for him. It'd take him a few years to sort that joke of a club out, regardless of money he's given to spend.
  15. ONE day we'll have a manager who picks the national team based upon club form and not profile.
  16. I'm pretty sure that Le Saux hit real form with us and there was paper talk about his form earning an international recall? Thought both were good for us (IMO) and was great to see Redknapp spraying the ball about when not crocked.
  17. All the above, plus i'd have to say Uwe Rosler.
  18. Well said.
  19. Wonder if he'll invite LvG round for a glash of bubblesh to go with the chipsh and mayonnaishe - for some gloating disguised as a peace offering.
  20. As always, any half decent side will tear us a new one.
  21. Be nice if ITV introduced a "commentary on/off" feature.
  22. One of the worst selections is, yet again, Clive Tydesley.
  23. Especially with Gomes in goal...
  24. Fair to say he hasn't Juanmi over...
  25. Blimey, no Gibbs?!
