Better than Ings? The bottom club in the league? Who we know can score goals in the premier league? You never know I suppose, and I admire the optimism!
-
Surely Ings would be a no brainer - he's proven in the PL unlike the others being linked with......we don't have the time to hope that someone can score in this league. If he's fit, just get it done.
-
Get fucking in there!!!!!!

Feel like switching it off. Just can’t watch.

Haven’t felt this nervous before a game in a long time. Might have to put something other than milk on my coco pops.
-
Amended for you!

Only just looked at this thread properly - that looks like some scarring around his left knee.....i thought most knee op's these days wouldn't be quite so invasive but that looks like hatchet job!

I agree, managers do need time - but the fan base had every right to question his appointment having seen a load of disorganised hoof ball especially against Forest.....Jonny Wilkinson would have been well at home in our back line for the first few games. It was dire and the concern and vitriol directed at NJ was mainly down the brand of football we were seeing and the general impotence of the side. Even when we've been terrible over the past few years, it's not been that terrible. At least we were trying to actually use the midfield. Last night was a breath of fresh air, so let's hope the tide is turning - the added bonus of the cup games is that it gives extra time for new faces to gel and to get some rhythm.....but personally, i'd rather the manager rise above it in interviews and stop biting back at the fans and comments made by outsiders. It'll only be worse for him if things don't pick up in the league.

Saints 2-0 Man City - The Treble is STILL on!

Whatever the result from here, that should be a real shot in the arm for confidence. Cracking half of football and long balls to a minimum! -
Agree, but the issue now is it’ll have to be someone who’s been playing regularly and match fit if they’re going to start on Saturday….and not someone who’s been sat on the bench all season hence why they’re looking for a move. They really would need to join and hit the ground running immediately if we can use them this weekend.

I just wish we’d stop the “you fat bar steward” chant when keepers take a goal kick. They’re not fat, not remotely. Back to the old “your sh1t aaaahhhh” is far better.
-
Surely if you're a striker who can't hit a barn door from 5 yards at the moment, with a new arrival who could be put in your place, and with the current manager STILL having faith in you and starting you in his side you're not going to give him a load of stick on the pitch in front of everyone? If i were Che i'd be king brown nose every day until i started hitting the onion bag.....so i'd be surprised if he was giving him stick.

Are some managers at such an elevated state of consciousness and knowledge (or the reverse) that they see something completely different from the rest of the world? Always wondered why things seem fairly obvious to us (if this is indeed a back 5, with no point in a midfield at all) but they seem to think something very different.

I’ll offer up a prayer before bedtime, that he’s used in a way that will play to his strengths. Unfortunately if it comes true, he’d be the only outfield player that would apply to.
-
I know there's no reason to feel sorry for footballers, especially those in the PL, but i do feel for the bloke. When he's got time to think, he's shocking.....but it can't be easy to be in this situation and know that you could have single handedly added 5-10 points to our current tally just by doing your job.
-
Or Cockney rhyming slang.
-
Has anyone told him that he's here to manage the team!?
-
If he's injury free, and open to it, let's chuck the cash at him. Beggars can't be choosers, and if fit he WILL score you goals.....especially those that Che has missed this season!
-
Didn’t realise he owned a house elsewhere….he was renting for nearly a year near us I think. Clearly wanted some privacy and anonymity!
-
No, he was renting a huge gaff near us (not in a huge gaff!) on the outskirts of Winchester.
-
Seeing JWP say “f*ck me man” (how I saw it) to himself walking off the pitch says a lot I think.
-
I get that it’s not a great squad, but that doesn’t excuse lack of organisation or energy. I’m sorry, but even a fit and together L1 team would have defended better and put in a proper shift and not given that Brighton side the time to do whatever it wanted. That’s not down to premier league quality, that’s down to work ethic and organisation. One of the most worrying things for me was this the lack of both….at least if they were both organised and (seemingly) gave a toss I wouldn’t be quite so angry this morning. Looked like a side not sure what they were doing, and probably not buying into what they’re being asked to do. It’ll be hard to watch if we simply throw our PL status away, especially given that there are quite a few really quite poor teams around us this season.
-
I’m not saying there’s anything bad about it…otherwise I wouldn’t be saying there must be someone interested in a 6 month deal on loads more than we’d pay per week on a long term contract……just to bang in the goals to keep us up. I doubt it would ever be considered due to wage structure but a big name “gun for hire” even on £200k per week could be the best £4.8m we’d ever spend. I’m sending a hearty hug and pat on the back!

Had a bad day? Need a Xmas cuddle? I think you know I’m referring to big name free agents who want big bucks….but if you didn’t know that, there it is for you.
-
Err yes….but you do realise that I’m talking about professional footballers?
