  1. Theres a lot of finger pointing at Jones going on from yesterdays game. I think Jones did enough to get a result from the game, we were hard to break down and limited them to very little. The loss is the responsibility of attackers not taking chances (again), not being able to defend a set piece (again) and the officials. On another day we win that 1-0, have 4 wins on the bounce and everyone is happy.
  2. No, Lavia came off because he still can't play 90 unfortunately. Jones could see that we were hurting them down the wing because they were flooding the midfield so we went to a back 3 and pushed the fullbacks up. It does not mean that we got it wrong from the start because games change, and why would it be a desperate situation at 0-0 against a team in very good form?
  3. We scored about 5 mins after making a triple sub and changing formation...
  4. Im guessing theyre only selling the right four blocks at the moment. And theyll put the left three up later should we sell that many
  5. Good choice coming after three positive wins. If your daughter's first game was the Forest one she may have been put off for life.
  6. This Newcastle team is a mid table / europa league team over performing. Fulham deserved a result there yesterday. We are a completely different team to the one that lost 4-1 a few months ago so hopefully we can get a positive result against Villa to keep spirits high going into the first leg. Looks as though Bruno will be out injured which is a huge boost.
  7. Whats the best method of parking at heathrow that doesn't cost an arm and a leg?
  8. Would like to think that we'd sell out any allocation they give us, even with it being midweek and 300+ miles away. Im looking at going but just not sure whether to drive, train or fly yet.

    As a Toon fan

Well said, seen a lot of your lot on twitter saying you're in the final already. You're the favourites but anything can happen in a cup tie, its just nice to see three out of four teams in a semi final not belong to the traditional 'big six'
  10. Unfortunately they play it on the floor so doesn't really make a difference. Also may encourage Jones to go even more 'long ball' than normal. In fairness could work tonight.
  11. A real shame we got City at this stage. Like most of our fans I was born after '76 so have never seen us lift a major trophy. I just want one in my life then I can be happy. Controversially I'd take a League Cup or FA Cup if it meant relegation. Anyway, stranger things have happened in football than us winning on Wednesday, its just a shame Pep played a 'weaker' team yesterday instead of our game.
  12. I really don't know why Jones is persisting with 5 (3) at the back hoofball when we clearly don't have the players for it. He used to play a 4-4-2 diamond in his early days at luton which my friend reliably says was very exciting and effective. Our players are much more suited to that.
  13. Win tonight would be huge for confidence and the mood of everyone, but a loss or draw isn't certain relegation. Plenty of time for us to find some form later in the season and scrap our way to survival
  14. As a younger fan I have no idea of the words to these or even how they go. Wonder why people stopped singing them
  15. And here's me thinking that our fan base might give new new manager more than two games to start making a difference...
  16. Rumour is that JJ Morgan will be involved
  17. Technically we'd get more for our money if it goes to extra time and penalties. However like you I hope we can comfortably win in normal time
  18. Was always going to be tough at this level. Having said that we are just two points from the top and have only lost one game in ten. Being out of the FA cup might not be a bad thing
  19. Im happy about this, at least for home games. We've had two home Saturday 3pm kick offs since the start of the season! Could do with a couple of the awkward away games being on TV though
  20. *Also Im bored with no saints games to look forward to which is why I've made the thread
  21. Doesn't have to be for us. Unfortunately for me I think it would have to be Cameron Jerome's for Stoke. Although I've only recently got a season ticket so have missed most of the good ones at home
  22. This is when a Luton player broke his leg, had to be stretchered off on gas and air and they booed him off
  23. Mount or Gallagher injury please 🙏
  24. Lyanco with the 95th minute winner, descents into chaos with him jumping into the away and and Jones starts scrapping Klopp
  25. I would expect him to be down in Southampton tomorrow finalising personal terms, then at St Marys in the evening for the game.
