Only heard the last part of Koeman's press conference but I think he said Mane came back from the African Tournament with a groin injury that ordinarily would need an operation and he would be absent for the season. It was a very brutal game on Saturday, more than most BPL games so hopefully he will be mended quickly. I will miss Mane's infectious smile and fast running.

Is there any news on Shame Long? Maya to score in a Southampton win.

1. Are his fingers longer than Morgan Schinderlin's? 2. Has he ever been to Japan and would he consider using a Saints player like Maya to advertise some of the goods? Maya is worshipped in Japan so would be commercial advantage.

Well...some people have named players apart from the long-fingered Schneiderlin as the Saints' best player. I think they are more wrong. Maya Yoshida is a very key player which is why he signed another 3 years with the Club Southampton. Ok, he may not be a glamourous lad but he is the reason I and many more in Japan follow the Saints, and for that explanation he is the number two for me. I respect your rebuke though, my fellow hito.

I can't see Toby Alderweld in any of the training photos, so hopefully another chance for Maya to show his qualitees.

I think Maya will start if he is fit. Will have been kept sharp over past weeks and is much more refined than Gardos. New contract will make him one of the most prestige players at the club!!

Most Southampton fans in Japan will not be anxious for this game as the EPL is the focus. ****ed off that we ****ed up against UAE but very happy it means Maya will start versus Swansea and QPR.

The highest number of games from the roster that are on TV the better for most EPL fans that are not based in the UK. Luckily we can watch most games anyway which is why there are more numbers of Southampton Saints abroad now than in the darker days in the Divisions lower when nobody cared because they couldn't watch Southampton vs Brenford. Maya has opened up many commercial opportunities and has given The Saints a repute in Japan for giving Asian players an opportunity. I love the club for this.

Southampton should approach for Shinji Okazaki. Available from Mainz. Excellent goalscoring record in German and Intl football. Would settle with Maya, would raise the profile of Southampton in a good growth market of Japan. He is also very honourable, hard working and far superior to Shame Long.
