  1. Are you a Crouch PR plant?
  2. I don't think the problem is someone backing one person or another. I just think it is odd that if one person uses another to drip feed information (or misinformation) and that is seen as reprehensible then why is it okay for another person to do the same thing? Surely what is good for the goose is good for the gander? Personally I don't have a problem with it if people are upfront about their contacts. We can then at least make some form of judgement about the information and the agenda behind it (and I am not taking sides here one way of the other). Wilde, for all of his faults at least did used to come on and chat in person. Whether Duncan is being used by Crouch that I cannot say. But a man with an agenda is easily used by another. Whether Duncan thinks it was helpful to tell us that our new manager was despised by the players when the club is desparate for unity I don't know. Where that information came from I don't know, nor do I care. What does bother me is that is Lowe were to use this forum again to further his propaganda he would be crucified, yet it seems quite all right for any opponent of Lowe to use the same tactics.
  3. Lowe was rightly condemned on here for his ham fisted attempt to use PR plants on the forum. We agree that was wrong. Is it okay though for Crouch and his chums to use certain mouthpieces here for the same purpose? Surely the only difference is that one lot did it for money?
  4. Instead of petty point scoring perhaps we should just get behind Wotte for the rest of the season eh? I am sure there are many here who would love it if we went down so they can be proved right.
  5. Good point. There is still a long way to go.
  6. How long has Saga been back?????
  7. Perhaps Mark Wotte needs your crystal ball? I expect he will make worse choices and win. Just a shame that you can't take any postives from tonight.
  8. He moaned about a manager who effectively won every other game? Yes of course he was right.........
  9. The bloke has been the manager for one game, give him a chance. He made changes and it worked. Isn't thta something to be hapy about. Most of us would have been well happy with a point before the game. Hopefully he will have learned from tonight and we will kick on from here.
  10. I would have taken a point at the start of the game, even more so at half time. It might be disappointing tonight with other results but at the end of the season this point might make all the difference....but hey, let's just slag off the new manager anyway shall we?
  11. Saga needs to play from the start. Great point though after being 2-0 down.
  12. If JP quit I suspect that it was suggested that he do so...
  13. There needed to be a change and that change has been made. Hopefully Wotte will prove to be a better option but only time will tell (despite him already being written off as a failure). With little cash to spalsh it might make sense to upgrade Wotte and bring in another striker. If Wotte can keep the away form going and turn around the woeul home form we shall be okay. Let's pray, for the sake of SFC, that he can.
  14. McMenemy managed in the 2nd Divison and took some three years to get promotion with the likes of Mick Channon in the team. Ted Bates managed in lower divisions. Everything is relavtive. Burley managed in the CC with a CCC squad. You could argue that McMenemy managed in the 2nd divison with a 1st Division squad (Channon Osgood Ball etc)
  15. I was comparing his record, that is all. As for Burley, slate him all you like but the stats are there fo all to see. I am not saying he was our greatest manager, I am just saying it is odd how someone can deliver the goods in terms of results and still be hated. He is not my chum and as to whether he is a drunk, well what the hell. It didn't hold Clough back did it? And do you know Burley and JOnes personally? Do you know how much each of them drinks? As for bottomless pit of money, perhaps we should look at how much each manager spent over their reign? And since when did spending money achieve anything?
  16. I though that they had brought in another (English) coach?
  17. LOL I was married to someone with NPD. Another good example would be Heather Mills. Scary people to be sure. Funnily enough I have brought this up on another site. You could well be on to something.
  18. Surley there is enough winding up here everyday to last us a lifetime???
  19. Thanks Anders, well at least Jan is doing better than Wigley......and it puts the whole Pearson period into perspective. Jan's record is firmly planted with Grays and Wigleys who were sacked in pretty quick order. How long can he stay I wonder?
  20. Another interesting point is that Dave Jones gets cut a lot of slack but his performance was little better than Branfoots.
  21. I am not well up in these matters, but if you want to buy a football club isn't there a bit more in it than offereing a bloke some wedge? Isn't it down to the shareholders? If everyone else sold it wouldn't matter if Lowe didn't. Correct me if I am wrong please.
  22. Average points per game 92/93 1.19 93/94 1.02 94/95 1.29 95/96 1.00 96/97 1.08 97/98 1.26 98/99 1.08 99/00 1.16 00/01 1.37 01/02 1.18 02/03 1.37 03/04 1.24 04/05 0.84 05/06 1.27 06/07 1.64 Average points per game (based on 3 for a win for all) Burley 1.54 McMenemy 1.52 Hoddle 1.50 Bates 1.42 Strachan 1.35 Ball 1.34 Nicholl 1.32 Sturrock 1.31 Souness 1.31 Redknapp 1.22 Merrington 1.21 Jones 1.18 Branfoot 1.11 Gray 1.05 Wigley 0.89 Sorry don't have Pearson but think it is round about Jones/Merrington mark So despite the hate shown towards George Burley he is our most "successful" manager since the war and his 06/07 season our best since the start of these stats. It also shows that under Lowe we haven't done much worse than before in terms of points per game overall.
  23. Unlucky to be dismissed by THREE clubs? Dowie's star was on the wane a long time ago. Irrespective of who is wanted I suspect that the next manager wil be an internal appointment.
  24. I know what you are saying Darren, I just find it odd that he choses to give his money to the oppositon. How does that help HIS club? This club needs the revenue of its support base whether Lowe is here or not. Isn't not going becuae of one man a bit like cutting off your nose to spite your face? Does his, or others boycott make any differnce to Lowe? He went and he has come back and all these "sacrifices" seem to do is to damage SFC further, not Rupert Lowe. Even if we do end up in administration there is no guarantee that Lowe will depart. In fact in some ways it might be better that the club gets itself into a healthier position, it might then be a more attractive prospect to someone else. I can't see people queing round the block to buy a third tier club can you? If, by some miracle Lowe does manage to keep the club afloat, that might lead to his departure.
