So the english, yup totally agree. about the ambitions, of course I may be viewing from a fans perspective that isn't a reflection of the club, but I feel like there are certain players (fonte being a good example) who get the ethos of the club and want to stay because of where we're headed, even though they could probably get a few starts at a club like spurs or liverpool or less frequently at one of the top 4. Didn't watch the game, but hearing that jones and henderson played in front of clyne was a shocking decision. I know that he was wanting to use these slightly easier int'l opponents to 'test' out different systems (e.g. jones in CDM)....but there's a time and a place. I actually don't mind hodgson as some other hate him, but you got to play clyne to show you're confident in him and to prepare him for future games. you can't mess around with new systems and then find that all your messing around has meant you haven't given anyone that much gametime and there we don't actually have any defined positions.
