I’d assume he’s not. Would be an odd one to include him in the kit launch photos only to then ship him off. When ings went there was no sign of him in the photos despite being our top scorer
-
Ahhh just what we want, 30k a week for a bloke with 3 goals in his last 50 league games teaching the youngsters how it’s done
-
Trouble is there’s so many 16 year old kids who never make it. Just take a look at Saints examples - Seagar, Hesketh etc. He’s guaranteeing himself over £1 mil whilst still training in a premier league academy so it’s less of a risk. Sure there might not be a direct route into the first team, but 3 years down the line he’s still only 19 and can leave to pursue first team football if he’s good enough and he’ll still have his whole career ahead of him, just with a mil in the bank. Won’t hold it against him if he was to go
-
Dominic Ballard training with the first team today by all accounts - could be 3rd/4th choice striker. Academy player of the year last year. Get him game time in the cups and keep him ticking over in the U18’s

Romeo Lavia - Official: Signs for Not Liverpool
warwicksaint replied to Saint Garrett's topic in The Saints
Broja had just signed a 6 year contract so Chelsea were under no pressure to sell, Lavia only has a year left on his contract and doesn’t seem to want to extend so a loan seems pointless for City -
I don’t particularly like Everton but i really feel for them there, there’s no way that’s offside - what happened to the supposed thicker lines?? Isn’t football an entertainment business and we should give attackers the benefit of the doubt to encourage higher scoring games rather than 0-0’s
-
We have absolutely no threat to offer through the middle. Every single attack we do is out wide, overlapping runs and try and pick someone out in the middle, which never happens because our crossing is shit and we have no aerial threat or movement in the box anyway. Every single game there’s a massive gap in between the midfield two and strikers. Would like to either see JWP push higher in attack and play that CAM role, or we drop a striker and play a 4-2-3-1. This current system just means strikers are isolated and our only threat is winning the ball through pressing or aimless crosses into the box

Not Redmond’s biggest fan by any means but credit to him i thought he did really well yesterday. Not sure what else you want him to do, it was a great ball in for the first having beaten his man, and the second goal was a perfectly weighted through ball which Armstrong would’ve buried had lascelles not chopped him down. Think it shows our strength in depth has improved this year, suddenly we’ve got Tella, Redmond, Walcott, Broja and Diallo to bring off the bench to change the game up, plus Armstrong to come back. We aren’t so reliant on our starting 11 getting the job done. Competition in these positions means those coming off the bench will have that extra urge to create something and earn a starting place. End of the day we took 0 points from those fixtures last year and have 2 draws this year. That’s an improvement in my eyes

1) I think he did tire but still put in a shift defensively second half 2) i personally thought he was as solid as ever and had the bottle to slot the pen 3) It was one of his poorer games, too many loose touches and passes. Plus he doesn’t know what to do when he’s on their 18 yard box. I’d rather he stays deep and JWP is the CM that gets forward 4) He wasn’t horrendous, just missed 2 sitters, played well apart from that 5) Probably his worst out of the 3 games but he wasn’t dreadful, just looked desperate to score against his old club and took on too many shots when a pass would’ve been the better option. Saying that he set Djenepo up for his second chance and won the pen so can’t complain too much 6) He was shit today 7) We dominated first half and should’ve been 2 up but for the Djenepo misses. Not quite sure why we allowed a 2 v 2 in the 90th minute - where was our midfield?! Overall we deserved a point though. Special mention to Redmond, who I’m not the biggest fan of. He changed the game when he came on
-
Thoroughly deserved a point, but should’ve been out of sight by half time - we’ve got to take our chances. Thought Adams, Djenepo and Romeu had poor games today. Armstrong looked desperate to score against his old side. Really can’t get my head round people having a go at McCarthy today, nothing he could’ve done about either goals - that’s on Ralph for playing suicidal football in the 90th min away from home. not a fan of Redmond on the whole but give him credit he looked lively when he came on. Elyounoussi looked decent with Tino on the right. Only thing I’d say about Tino is he seems to be shagged after 70 mins each time so maybe we need to freshen things up there near the end
-
Think Adams has had a very poor game so far. Tella on for him

Financial fair play has been nothing short of a joke. Until a salary/transfer cap is brought in nothing will change. Issue is for that to happen, all leagues have to adopt it which means it has to come right from the top ie. FIFA. Otherwise say the Prem introduces one everyone just fucks off to la liga or serie A for more money. As it stands, the dream of a Leicester occurring again are very quickly disappearing - the gap between the haves and have nots seems to have got even bigger this year. With that being said we nearly beat United last week😆
-
Don’t disagree, think it’s been a good signing. Was just saying I hope we don’t limit KWP’s game time too much as he’s got the potential to be a really decent RB. Ideally we can get them playing together on the right hand side
-
My only concern with this signing and buy back clause is we have him for 2 years then he’s off and in the mean time we’ve held back KWP from fulfilling his potential. He’s only 24 so has a lot to give still
-
Think our biggest home win is 11-0 back in 1901 and 1902 against Northampton and Watford
-
After the arsenal vs Baggies game
-
Think it would be harsh to drop Stephens and Djenepo after the United game, they both looked decent. Agreed about walcott though, push Livramento to right wing and play KWP. And Forster is goal please
-
Anyone know how long Chelsea have to buy him back before that clause expires? If we can hold onto him for 4/5 years he could be worth a fair bit of money
-
Great point given the shit show of last week. McCarthy needs to be replaced, he’s simply not good enough. Tino, JWP and Stephens had very good games. Thought we dominated the second half and perhaps should’ve won if Armstrong had buried that. Their goal was a frustrating one but ours was a bit deflection and we rode our from set pieces so all things considered a point is fair.
-
Jason Denayer would be a class signing, he’s quick and has had a shed load of experience in champions league and nationally for Belgium. Also can play CDM
-
Agreed. I take the view i want my defender to be able to defend first, then they can play all the fancy passing they like, but their main job is to stop the ball ending up in the back of the net
-
Similar to someone like Ben Mee at Burnley? Yet they always have one of the best defences in the league outside of the top 6. Never necessarily a bad thing
-
In terms of how we play, I just hope we revert back to the high pressing game we did backend of 19/20 and first half of 20/21. Clearly it was working in parts given we were 4th/5th in form throughout the 2020 annual year table- just need to do it all in one season. I’m not quite sure why we stopped, it seemed after the 9-0 dicking Ralph reverted back to boring backwards, sideways passing. I take the view the pressing game is going to give you a shocker of a result once or twice a season as it can leave you vulnerable (Leeds got a drubbing a few times) but the benefits much outweigh these negatives. We don’t have the players to play neat passing round the team trying to carve oppositions open, so we have to play to our strengths and work our bollocks off
-
Perhaps they viewed Watkins, buendia and Bailey as their young talent and wanted a bit more experience. Not every club is in the exact same position
-
Christ you’re negative, the lad just netted 28 goals in a very average Blackburn side. Rickie scored 27 for us in the season we went up and he’s a club legend. Give the man a chance at least
