  1. Anyone know if tomorrow is being shown live?
  2. If we ever want to advance from being merely a youth player stepping stone to being a competitive top 10/pushing for top 7/8 side some seasons, then we need to sell the young players we’ve got for hefty profit and invest into BOTH young players and more experienced pro’s. If we carry on selling young lads every 2 or 3 seasons we’ll just go round in circles. We also need to buy those 24/25/26 year olds who will take us to a different level, whilst still integrating young players where we can
  3. Sims scores for Ross county assisted by Olaigbe
  4. I’m talking pre season
  5. Would assume it’s due to him being youth recruitment compared to first team
  6. Can always do 5-3-2, with Romeu, Lavia and JWP in the midfield. Just means the wingbacks need to work their bollocks off to provide the support
  7. Exactly, pair him with Salisu who’s quick enough to cover those areas and it gives him more freedom to push higher up the pitch. JWP will also be back to make up the ground should the attacker want to cut inside
  8. One thing i would say about Small is that the wingbacks have clearly been told to get forward, so it’s bound to leave space in those deep wide areas. However the left sided CB is supposed to push a bit more to cover those areas. Stephens was playing far too central to do that. Whether that’s him being poor at reading the game or just used to playing in a back 4 who knows but it did make Small look worse than it first appears
  9. Yep that’s the decision ralph has to make. Does he play 4 at the back and commit to buying more attackers and a backup RB/LB, or commit to 5 at the back and only buy 2 attackers + CB + backup RB/LB
  10. Think we need 2 as a minimum, a left sided 10 and a striker. Both need to be of starting quality otherwise we’re in the shit. If we’re playing 5 at the back I’d rather we spend on colwill rather than another attacker
  11. Positives: - Lavia looks like he’s going to be some player - Smallbone looked decent, picked the right passes and hit the post - A Armstrong was making the right runs but couldn’t time them, shame about the pen but won’t hold him to it. Still think there’s a player to be had in there - KWP being his usual self - Aribo grew into the game and looks like he could form a good chemistry with KWP Negatives: - Thought elyonoussi was dreadful, giving the ball away a lot, blazing a shot over the bar, not involved at all - Small defensively all over the place, a loan at a well drilled team would do him some good I’m going to put my neck on the line here and say i actually thought we looked quite decent second half, just couldn’t score. I think the formation can work with a proper left back, a top striker, Colwill in CB and JWP back in. We created more chances when our stronger XI was on, just needs some fine tuning Oh and we also need an attacking left 10 as we badly lack creativity down that side
  12. Lavia looks really good, aribo has grown into the game, elyonoussi looks dreadful
  13. They’re also in the top division of Austria’s league and finished 6th last year so hardly 3rd tier
  14. Then let’s just play Bazunu and lis given that we’ve seen McCarthy being shite for the last 3 years
  15. Very confused why Bazunu isn’t even on the bench. What is the point in playing Lis if he won’t even be backup?
  16. If you have no idea how do you know he’s not worth 40 mil?😂
  17. Self sustaining doesn’t mean we need to bring in every penny for everything we spend. It means we can’t go and spunk away 100 million on players, but still have the capital to spend 30-40 mil without income
  18. Think you’re still stuck on the mindset we had under Gao, these new owners seem much more ambitious. We’re not going to sell our best full back having just pumped in a load of money to improve it. We’ll sell our poorer players who won’t be in and around the first 11 this year e.g Walcott, bednarek, djenepo and still make 15-20 mil plus 3 players wages off the board
  19. We’re under no pressure to sell though. Agreed he’s not a 40 million player but he’s our starting RB/LB, our second best player last year and has 3 years left on his contract. To us he’s 40 million so any club who wants him pays above the odds
  20. Squeezing the games in, that’s 5 games in 2 weeks
