Would be a shame to see KWP playing backup to James all season, would be a complete waste as he’s really kicked on in the last 2 years. Similarly, they have the buy back clause on Tino in a year so if they take KWP, I’m assuming that means they won’t be coming in for Tino on top of that otherwise they have 3 class right backs fighting it out for 1 position

At no point did i say they deserve more money, you’ve completely missed the point I’m making. nobody “deserves” more or less. Their wages are completely based on supply and demand and right now there’s a way higher demand for mens football, hence why they earn more. for what it’s worth i hope the womens game does develop and attract similar numbers to the male game

Okay I’ll bite. These football clubs aren’t charities, they’re businesses. Wages and salaries are driven by the demand it creates, which right now is not there for the womens game (let’s see what happens next few years). The obscene money that comes from mens football is predominantly driven by TV revenue - if any club paid the women what the men are on, they’d be making a ridiculously large loss and be out of business within a few years, it’s not simply going to change overnight. This tournament has been a great step in the right direction but there’s a long way to go. End of the day, I just can’t see enough people prepared to trek away 150 miles on a wet Tuesday night to support their women’s team to drive it to the same level as mens. It’s just not in the culture.

Improved our GK (Bazunu), CB (ABK) attacking midfielder (Aribo) and potentially striker in Mara but too soon to tell yet. How have we not tried to fix the glaring problems? We just lost to the champions league semi finalists last season ffs. Wasn’t a bad performance and the Monaco 2nd half showed there’s plenty to look forward to. Were you expecting us to dick them 5-0? As for djenepo, have you watched any pre season as he actually looks quite good there as an attacking option, just needs to work on his finishing

Think Ralph has made it quite clear ABK, Salisu and Bednarek are our main CB’s via his team selections over the last 3/4 games so imagine they’ll be starting

Agreed some of the recoveries were his own fault originally. One thing i am concerned with the 5 at the back is how far forward our right/left centre back goes. Given our wingbacks push up it can leave us with only 2 centre backs left if the ball is given away cheaply

Disagree entirely, although it was pre season i thought that was one of the better performances he’s put in, especially 2nd half. Made a great recovery tackle, played progressive passes, had a few nice runs through their team and tested their keeper on one occasion. Chased down and recovered when he did give the ball away sloppily once. Solid from him and looks more comfortable as a RCB

I get rotating outfield players but why not have Bazunu in the squad? Hardly going to knacker keepers out and we know caballero won’t be playing unless there’s some serious injuries this year

Agreed i don’t think they should be pushing as high as they have been. FWIW I’m all for 5 at the back given how shit our defence has been the past few years. We can’t seem to score with 4 at the back anyway so might as well tighten up the defence to give us a chance🤣

Judging by pre season that won’t be the case, the wingbacks seem to be getting very far forward and almost acting as wingers half the time, whilst one of the 8’s tends to drop into RB/LB when progressing up the pitch
