not to be the turd in the punchbowl, but we need to sort ourselves out defensively. Stop messing around with our back four. Bree needs to start THB back at CB i get why Stephens is playing today with KWP out, but he is not the answer. last 6 league matches 3 goals allowed 3 goals allowed 0 goals allowed 2 goals allowed 2 goals allowed 3 goals allowed it's a bit of a miracle we got 9 points from that! ^

Liverpool 3-0 Saints - Match Thread
SaintTex replied to Stripey McStripe Shirt's topic in The Saints
I reckon Martin would like Sulemana if he scored goals. -
he should only start matches against clubs he has scored against. Next Wednesday it is!

Puel has gone to prove he was never going to be the answer. His winning percentage has gotten worse for each new club who has hired him since Lyon. Lyon 18 June 2008 20 June 2011 156 76 44 36 48.72 Nice 23 May 2012 24 May 2016 169 69 38 62 40.83 Southampton 30 June 2016 14 June 2017 53 20 13 20 37.74 Leicester City 25 October 2017 24 February 2019 67 23 18 26 34.33 Saint-Étienne 4 October 2019 5 December 2021 88 26 23 39 29.55

He is having a pretty typical JWP season at West Ham, like most seasons he had with Saints, with one exception - no free kicks. you know, 5 to 7 goals from open play, and handful of assists (mostly due to the fact he is on the pitch every minute of every match)
-
yes, but note the level of complaint.. 1st goal allowed - loads, loads of complaints 2nd goal allowed - not one complaint 3rd goal allowed - some grumbling, but yeah, that is football sometimes that 1st goal should have been saved and my guess is Bazunu and Dean Thornton would agree.

that was a weird game.. Glad we won, but that is the first time in a long time where we didn't dictate the style of play at all.
-
the ball went bloody under him. dreadful goalkeeping.
-
it's even more brutal than that!!! We just started an 11 matches in a 36 day stretch (*potentially). Midweek matches every week for the next 5 weeks. 03/02/24 Rotherham (a) 06/02/24 Watford (h) - FA Cup 10/02/24 Huddersfield (h) 13/02/24 Bristol (a) 16/02/24 West Brom (a) 20/02/24 Hull (h) 24/02/24 Millwall (h) 28/02/24 Liverpool (a) - FA Cup (maybe)* 02/03/24 Birmingham (a) 06/03/24 Preston (h) 09/03/24 Sunderland (h) i reckon Martin is going to put out a very weakened side Tuesday and let the chips fall where they may.

solid win. kind of feel like we are putting Ipswich in the rear view mirror. It's Leeds we got to worry about. ** oh, and kudos to Bazunu and the back 4. When was the last time we allowed more than 1 goal in a match? Defense and midfield play has been the key to this run!

the second one... FootLive is working for me. Thank you.

Southampton 5 - 0 Swansea on Boxing Day ergo... Saints are as good as 12th place team in the PL? I'll take it!
-
the way i see it. 3 points were available for either club ahead of us to be applied against our points total. Only 2 points were issued. good day.
-
Been so lost in how well Saints have been doing, i didn't notice that Lavia actually made his first appearance with Chelsea against Palace on Dec 27th - brought on off the bench at the 58' mark. Picked up an injury during that match - hasn't been in the lineup since. Seriously. Not joking
-
As I went back to reading the first page, i was desperately hoping that i forgotten that i had posted on page 1: "hey, maybe we go on 20 match unbeaten streak." but alas. 😊
-
we were in 15th place at matchweek 8, coming off the Middlesbrough loss
-
just wanted to say thank you for providing the link to this stream. brilliant from beginning to end!
-
it was with his left foot, which is rare... but as it was with his left foot it wasn't with a whole lot of power... but it went in.... so yay!
-
watching that at full speed, i am ok with just a yellow. Yeah, it looks bad, but i see no intent. To me he was clearly extending his leg to block the ball - Edozie just too quick.
-
pretty much this.. tip the cap. A lot had to go right for them to get that in. Other than that i thought we managed the risk of a Norwich breakaway pretty well. We knew that would be their gameplan by the first minute on. all in all.. 4 matches in 10 days and a 10 point return is pretty good.
-
that was a brilliant stream.. thank you no pop-ups, sound, stable! oh, and brilliant match by the way.
-
hey, it's a shot on target! we could use that.
