  1. ^^ that is awesome. i just had my 10 year anniversary as a Saint supporter from Texas (first year - the 2013-2014 season; joined this site in 2014.) i will have lived a truly blessed long life if i make it to a 44 year anniversary! You are super fan, Kristian!

    David Brooks

Did he even get one at all at West Ham this past season?
  3. yep. Sulemana goals this season...
  4. Well, they should all be well rested. this season: Alcaraz 380 min Perraud 360 min ABK 162 min Whats the point of loaning these guys out if they aren't playing?
  5. Saints just saved me $100 next year. see ya later, ESPN+
  6. Brighton is the new Southampton.. the pattern is very clear. they pushed and pushed to 6th, got European football.. but now..... they have faltered a bit, finishing mid table, made some bad purchases from sales of their top players, their manager is leaving for greener pastures, their supporters expectations are too high (which will create an environment of winter break panic buys to appease the angry fanbase), they will languish in the bottom half for 2 to 3 more years, go thru a couple of managers, and end up in the Championship in 2027. sound familiar? Book it. .
  7. Nathan Tella has had a pretty incredible two years of football 2022-23 Burnley - only 5 losses in all competitions 2023-24 Southampton/Bayer Leverkusen - only 1 loss in all competitions (Gillingham - although i am not sure he even made the trip)
  8. so Leeds and Norwich are up first.. who is the better matchup for us if we win Friday? ie: just tell me who to root for tonight.
  9. all the fannying about with passes across our own goalmouth, while 2 or 3 opponents are lurking in our penalty box, is going to be the death of me.
  10. Interestingly.. JWP 2,916 league minutes the other 4 top players we sold have less league minutes combined : 2,356 ABK 163 Lavia 32 Salisu 855 Livramento 1306
  11. interesting that.. even if we had beat Cardiff, Leicester, and Stoke in the run in, we would be sitting on 96 points in 3rd place. assuming we wouldn't have made up an 11 goal differential in those 3 matches.
  12. When was the last time a 4th place team got 87 points in the championship? same question for Leeds… when was the last time a 3rd place team reached 90 points? extremely competitive at the top this year.
  13. the line up talk is a hilarious and a bit sad.. how can you play a weekend side if you don't even know what your strongest side is? Martin certainly doesn't know.
  14. what is the best scenario? a) beat Leeds and then possibly face them again in the playoffs b) lose to Leeds and they end up in 2nd place - no chance to play them in the playoffs c) lose to them but Ipswich beats them on points and we face them again in the playoffs d) doesn't matter, we ain't winning the playoffs
  15. His poetry is better than his football.... and his poetry is awful.
  16. not exactly Real Madrid v. City or Arsenal v. Bayern Munich now is it? 😋 re: Tuesday evening match viewing options
  17. is this a post from 2021?
  18. Bazunu has not been the answer for a long, long, long time. Even the ball off the post, previous to the second Ipswich goal, he was super late on.
  19. that is pretty stark and laid bare. The success of our season hinges on about limiting goals conceded. We were doing it for awhile (see unbeaten streak) the only reason our dip in form in the last 8 matches has not been as bad as the dip at the beginning of the season is the 18 scored v. 12 scored. I am not going to be blaming Stephens, but RM needs to figure it out.
  20. hadn't thought of Djenepo in quite awhile. Took a look. He is not exactly tearing it up in Belgium. 22 appearances 1432 minutes 1 goal 0 assists As far as Sulemana - for those who are saying he needs a run of starts under his belt ; can we risk that? I am of the opinion a player has to earn his start with the chances given to him, whether it be performance on the training ground or precious minutes during a match. He has certainly not earned it based on the 20 minutes he is getting on the pitch nearly every match. And i am guessing RM is not exactly seeing a goal machine on the training ground either.
  21. those were really good finishes by Rothwell - how often do we see opportunities like that sail over the crossbar? Rothwell - 268 minutes | 4 goals Sulemana - 824 minutes | 0 goals
  22. I wanted to dissect that play again because it is easy to say : that open man should be covered by our LB. So the conventional thought would be Manning is to blame. Is it something as simple as Manning just switched off? Or is there something else there, because Manning looks like he is actually marking a man centrally that our CB (cant tell who it is) seems to have either decided 1) is not his responsibility or 2) is unaware he is there and Manning has stepped up or 3) has decided to intentionally play him offside and cut him adrift (if it is 3, Manning shouldn't be anywhere near there) Just putting it out there as it is easy to just say if an opponent is wide open on the right, the LB is 100% at fault. Maybe something more complicated is causing the breakdown (back 4 organization, communication (lack of), etc. Not sure. Maybe a few more technical posters on here could weigh in.
  23. it's a funny ole game, you know? anything could happen. We could finish the season on a 12 match unbeaten streak - or not who predicted the 20something unbeaten streak back in Sept?
  24. so he could hang out in our physio room all season?
