  1. and his child sized shinpads
  2. This. Plus, Djenepo was out injured for half a season last year. Redmond and Armstrong have already had knocks this season and were unavailable for matches. Could he even pair with Ings or Adams if they are out or need a rest? Walcott gives some depth in the "where will the goals come from" department. Unless you are one who is convinced that Smallbone or Obafemi would be a better option. I will remain optimistic until i have reason not to.
  3. i like this: https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11700/12087775/ibrahima-diallo-southampton-agree-12m-deal-for-stade-brestois-midfielder So tired of waiting weeks (months) to see new signings on the pitch.
  4. its like having to hear a second hand story every summer of who your ex is hooking up with, just as you had nearly erased all memory of her.
  5. Apparently ITK means knowing how to google "Southampton FC"
  6. Vestergaard is 28, Stephens is 26.
  7. ^^^ he turns 60 this year. I feel old.
  8. He does seem to take extra pleasure in goal celebrations. He always has a penchant for mounting his fellow teammates during them. Seriously.. he does.
  9. not me... priorities are: 1. one RB 2. one CB 3. one DM with pennies left over, anything else after that would be hard to find any true quality, ie: a striker
  10. He should be well rested. played a total of 1,074 minutes over 3 years / an average of 4 full matches a year.
  11. Forest with an epic collapse. Brutal. last 6 regular season matches...DLDDLL Match Week 46 - in 6th place - a 3 point lead with a +5 GD over Swansea Forest loses 1-4, Swansea wins 4-1 in their 1-4 loss the 4th goal was an OG in the 6' of injury time. FINAL TABLE 6 Swansea 70pts +9GD 7 Forest 70pts +8 GD
  12. Did you read the match reaction thread after the Arsenal match less than 2 weeks ago? We played attractive football today, but we are very inconsistent. 12th place is about right for us. Would be nice to get to 50 points though.
  13. Quite enjoyed the first half. Up until the Richarlison goal, i thought it was the best football we played in years, totally dominating to that point. A shame about Prowsy's missed PK, but that was such a soft foul i got over the miss quickly. i would have been irate if it had been called against us.
  14. Forster coming back maybe a bit of motivation? Ralph only really substituted for 1 player in the entire match (if you dont count Smallbone's during stoppage time). I loved that.. stick with what was working.. the players on the pitch were in sync and in the zone.
  15. Norwich (given) West Ham (If they go, Saints alone will have the longest current PL tenure (excluding the Top 6 + Everton) Bournemouth (need to be knocked down a peg) -- Leeds (given) Brentford (new blood) Forest (new blood)
  16. jeez.. was looking at City's run-in.. after they play Liverpool 13 Saints 14 Newcastle 15 Brighton 18 Bournemouth 16 Watford 20 Norwich Hopefully a very emotional game Thursday (City i would image really wants to beat them), and then a big emotional drop after.
  17. yep... but they clinched in the least dramatic way (and as a by-product the least nauseating) 01) they didn't do it with a win on the pitch, but as they sat on their couches at home. So we didn't have to see the team celebrating on the pitch the day they clinched 02) they have to wait a whole week for their next game (on a Thursday), so maybe some of the "excitment/fawning" will be diluted some by then. 03) No celebrations in front of supporters at Anfield. 04) No parade Trust me... it would have been way more nauseating if they had clinched it versus Man City next Thursday. and yes, they will always carry their victimhood front and center, but at least we don't have to hear "the 30 years without title drought" talk ad naseum anymore. haha, i would kill for a "30 year title drought" !!
  18. regulation flirter is right. there is some quality on this team, but it is woefully inconsistent (Redmond, JWP, Armstrong, DJenepo). And then we have Championship quality players filling key positions (Valery, Stephens, Vestergaard, Adams, Obafemi, maybe Bedernek) We have enough quality to stay up in the PL, but without upgrades at GK, CB, CM, and RB we will be regulation flirters again next year. A distributer who is forward thinking would be nice too, but i think Armstrong could fill that role if given the opportunity. I feel like Djenepo could have possibly been a difference maker today on the offense side of the ball. I have lost faith in Obafemi, not that i ever had much. Changes for Sunday? Pretty much start all of today's substitutes - Romeu, Walker Peters, Long, oh.. and Vestie (gulp)
  19. the problem is we were at 1% chance two weeks ago, now we are at a 4% chance Not trending in the right direction.
  20. I am thinking.... 18. Bournemouth 19. Brighton 20. Norwich Southampton being the only South Coast club in the top flight next year.
  21. i would love to win these next two matches and put this relegation thread to bed. Or would that not end it for some?
  22. Oh, you think we can catch City?
  23. on top of that, there was actually contact on Bertrand's penalty shout with Lloris earlier in the 2nd Half. Not that Bertrand asked for the call or that anyone who has watched football in the last 50 years thought it was a penalty.. but hell... if Son's was a penalty, Bertrand's must be.
  24. Why, oh, why can't we have nice things?
  25. oops.. my bad on KWP, i guess Valery?
