I will travel in hope rather than expectation.
-
No, because the advantages of getting a team settled and playing regularly together (at this moment) outweighs any possible risk of injury. A player can get injured on the training ground after all, and didn't Kelvin injury himself dropping a jar of peanut butter on his toe? !
-
I could understand Puels rotation policy if the first choice eleven were ripping up trees when they were selected , but they clearly aren't. Instead a bit of game time eith a settled 11 to build a bit of understanding might work. Reed has said Puel hasn't had time on the trsining ground to work on tactics, maybe less rotation would give him an opportunity to develop his ideas. If he had picked the side he wants to face Leicester last night it would have been the perfect training opportinity.

Even if we can replace the quality players sold to Liverpool, Spurs etc, with players as good or better, they too will be sold within a season or two. Thus there is no chance of developing a team capable of challenging the supremacy of the top six. Our business plan is buy cheep, sell high and hope the fan base aren't bothered by never winning anything as long as we stay in the Premiership. Bit depressing really.
-
You can argue about the merits or otherwise of Puel, but what is absolutely beyond down is we need to buy a quality striker ASAP. Les Reed should be taken outside and shot for gambling on the fitness of Austin
-
Anybody mentioned we need a quality striker to Les?
-
Some very valid points, not lest the description of our game against Spurs. How we could have spent the first 20 minutes looking like we could tear them a new one, and then scuttle back into our shell and hide for the rest of the game is anyones guess.
-
Shane Long. He might have scored Bobby goal and is a similar journeyman striker.

Leeds '79 Home Everton '84 Highbury Liverpool '86 WHT Liverpool '87 Home Liverpool '87 Away Watford '03 Villa Park AS has been said, not too much to crow about for 40 years of following Saints

Do we rotate more than other teams? I've found out so you don't have to
Morse replied to DuncanRG's topic in The Saints
It's often said by ex-pros that if the team is winning nobody minds playing 3 times a week. TO my mind the advantage he has gained by having fresher players is out-weighed by having an unsettled team. -
It's not enough, I want at least £20 to watch that ******.
-
Another lead thrown away, and another failure of the front line to score. Puel has to take a lot of the blame, as does the fitness coach, as does Reed for leaving us without an effective strike force.
-
Who the fook is Foeman ?
-
The very reason we were 'apparently' not disappointed to lose Foeman to Everton with £5m compensation was his reluctance to do just that. A certain irony to it.
-
Could have been more, but any win over Everton is more than welcome.
-
Portsmouth doesn't have a larger geographical area to draw on. Southampton has a population 50k greater than Portsmouth.
-
Emery, AVB or dB would all be welcomed from me. NOT Howe or Moyles FFS

Away fans are never going to be moved into the Kingsland corner because of where they will be in relation to the home fans when they leave the Stadium. Careful planning and consultation with the police went into the current arrangement and they would not sanction the fans being anywhere but where they currently are. However there is no such police directive into which way we kick and letting the away side kick toward their fans second half has always struck me as a mistake.

Problem is in midfield, we defend, clear our lines, loose it in midfield and put ourselves under pressure again. Big Vic hasn't had his best few games for us and we're still missing Morgan.
-
I thought city centre was was very peaceful, saw a few younger Saints getting a bit lemon but nothing out of the normal.
-
Selling MS and Clyne and failing to replace them, and failures to spend anything like the sort of money we could have is finally catching up with us, and Rk knows it.
-
I would get an invoice into RK for your travel expenses if i were you. He owes you.
-
That was one of the worst managerial performances I've seen from a Saints Manager since Ian Branfoot's days. Completely wrong team selection, wrong tactics, little or no motivation from the side lines, and the wrong substitutions at the wrong times. I think RK has lost interest.

Although I would like both the 2018 and 2022 world cups removed from Russia and Qatar and re-run without the corruption, I think the best we can hope for is the Qatar wc being re-run.
