I don't think there is any truth to this article. The current left footed central defender of Feyenoord (Terence Kongolo) is much better and someone Koeman knows very good as well. He just needs a bit more experience and an extra 10kg to be a superstar. He played a similar 5-3-2 system with Feyenoord last year as well in difficult away matches. Louis van Gaal copied the same system at the World Cup after seeing Koeman doing this. I'm not sure about Alderweireld though. He is physically not very strong, not very good in the air but he has good passing skills and a very good long shot.

The Austrian league is not very good but the Red Bull team are full of quality players. Ronald Koeman saw Sadio Mane play last year in the Europa League against Ajax where Salzburg completely humiliated Ajax in their own ground 0-3. Koeman was very impressed by their team then and criticised ajax coach Frank de Boer in the press for not having a Plan B game. I guess Mane stuck in his mind and that he's now trying to get him in.
