  1. Born in Adelaide, Australia but lived in Lymington for a couple of years before I could remember..... Returned to Australia with a handful of Saints match day programs (including 79 League Cup final) through my Dad (who incidentally wasn't really a Saints fan), and flicked through them ad nauseam for the best part of 15 years whilst burning the midnight oil every Saturday night listening to the football on the BBC world service, and reading one inch articles in the British Soccer Weekly (a football newspaper published in Australia) during the pre-internet era. First visit to the Dell was on my own as aged 18 in a dramatic 1-1 draw against Liverpool in 1991 where a young fella with a fair bit of hair by the name A. Shearer opened the scoresheet and a ***t called Jamie Redknap came on as a late substitute and equalized on debut. Now live in London and loving the latest Saints revolution, and pleased to say I have a bit more hair that Shearer now.... just.
  2. True - mine was the 1990 Draper Tools home strip. I begrudgingly bought the Pony home strip, but had a deep seeded hatred for both that home and away strip, partly because I thought the bold v stripe was cringeworthy but mostly because West Ham had the identical version too. Pony by name, Pony by design.
  3. Yep, Draper Tools in white without a background panel, and a white collar - was one of the best looking away kits going around at the time, but hideous now.
  4. I had that blue flame strip, but think slightly different time line, as pretty sure the yellow equivalent was also with the flame effect, available for sale and for mind even worse looking.
  5. Loved the footage towards the end of the nipper taking on and body checking a guy almost twice his size. The Southampton FC PR machine is def going into overdrive
  6. Yeah, he's such a lightweight will probably blow himself over in the box and get done for simulation
  7. Already done that - is just re-enforcing it tonight. Koeman needs to get him off before we are down to 10 men and send him out in the U21s for a while.
  8. Is Cork injured or still suffering from illness?
  9. WTF am I reading here? Anyone (other than Art) know? Had a sneaking suspicion Koeman was going to play Targett and push Bertrand up to replace Mane to get more quality into the box for Pelle tonight, and also give a bit of extra cover Mane or Tadic wouldn't provide, but not so it seems.
  10. Correction... starting debut
  11. I''ve got a sneaking suspicion if Davis isn't fit to start Reed could get a debut
  12. Will away tix make it to general sale?
  13. Savage wouldn't have even written this. Will just be ghoat written by a BBC trainee from the analysts department and Robbie just puts his name to it.

    Max Kruse

One for the conspiracy theorists... Levy has been flicking through Mitchells little black book, sourced from Saints little black box and is feeding the media in an attempt to disrupt and de stabilise our recruitment efforts.
  15. Everyone except oh I dunno West Ham playing at home last game perhaps
  16. We just need to ride on time
  17. Fingers crossed, soon to be 13th 6 changes for spuds today
  18. This Lets sign him on a 5 year deal - Clyne gets to develop himself for 12 more months with an early pay rise and we get to sell him for 30m + in 18 months time - win win all round.
  19. I actually thought you were taking the p*ss as I switched off during extra time, and then looked it up. One word - farcical!
  20. He is well up on own goals where media gaffes is concerned, otherwise there's not much in it.
  21. Florin Gardos
  22. Read in the paper the other day the current owners evaluate spurs at 1bn USD
  23. So who applies for a job, but on the proviso that he doesn't report through a certain person? Those conversations only happen during advanced talks, and usually when someone is head hunted.. So, the report is a bit of ball aches either one way or another. IMHO possibilities are - - He's been headhunted as the next Director of Football And-or Levy through his media hacks are manouvrring Baldini towards the exit door in a vain attempt to appease the fans and owners
  24. There is no value in comparing like for like against last year because, unless we are playing the same team players, at the same fixture within with the same 38 fixture list, with the same players, well....put simply it isn't like for like. As for dismissing 6 points, what's all that about? They are 6 points that should be cherished, just ask the two Manchester giants if they would like to take 3 points against QPR and Leicester right now?
  25. Pretty sure if we have a succession plan for our manager, our chief scout isn't going to be irreplaceable.
