I was going to say that sounds like a likely cause of any problems. I would assume, however, that the contract probably had a provision that one language's version was the official one. That is why one language should be designated as governing. I know nothing about the relevant procedures in Spanish or English law. In California, it would not be too difficult to get a temporary injunction stopping the transfer if the contract were clear enough. If Southampton has a valid contract and has made the Spurs aware of it, they are doing something wrong--particularly if they are using inside information from Mitchell in the process. I think it would be pretty pathetic to pay more for a player than we are legally obligated to do. Maybe Roma should do the honorable thing and refund us 5 or 10 million pounds from the Osvaldo deal since we clearly didn't get what we thought we were buying. Because we are causing the hated Tottenham problems after last summer where they caused us problems.
  2. I wonder if this means that we could get just as much for him next year if he plays this year in the Europa League and does well.
  3. I did notice that the older reports are only 100 pounds each. Sadly, I am seriously considering buying the year old report just to assist my blogging. Anyone want to try to talk me down?
  4. Turns out Deloitte does publish the information I need for a mere 1000 pounds. http://www.deloittestore.co.uk/Annual-Review-of-Football-Finance-s/1951.htm
  5. I should, of my many options, have elected not to respond to this thread.
  6. I think it is the same book I linked second. The American edition is "Money and Soccer" http://www.amazon.co.uk/Money-Soccer-Soccernomics-Unterhaching-S****horpe/dp/1568584768/ref=sr_1_10?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1435972134&sr=1-10&keywords=football+analysis http://smile.amazon.com/Money-Soccer-Soccernomics-Unterhaching-S****horpe/dp/1568584768/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1435979917&sr=8-1&keywords=money+and+soccer The English version is Money and Football http://www.amazon.co.uk/Money-Football-Soccernomics-Unterhaching-S****horpe-ebook/dp/B00TT1VP50/ref=tmm_kin_swatch_0?_encoding=UTF8&sr=8-1&qid=1435919888 http://smile.amazon.com/Money-Football-Soccernomics-Stefan-Szymanski/dp/1568585268/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1435979955&sr=8-2&keywords=money+and+football I just realized I linked to the amazon smile url rather than the general American amazon url. On the other hand, everyone should be using amazon smile whenever possible anyway. In any case, I have already started to read it.
  7. We need to figure out what football club Becker supports so we know who is tapping him up.

As an attorney I advise you not to answer that question.
  9. To be fair, it only guides me to info on 20 clubs when I am also looking for info on whole leagues. So it was a useful, but not compete, response. So lets hold off on the sticky. But someone should feel free to add a poll to this thread.
  10. Thank you.
  11. It is an interesting approach. I remember reading somewhere--it might have been in the book Soccernomics--that someone had done a study like this and found that salary paid corresponded to performance, but transfer fees paid did not. Here is a link to the book. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Soccernomics-England-Australia---Iraq--Are-Destined/dp/1568584814/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1435919888&sr=8-2&keywords=soccernomics When checking for this link, I just noticed that the author has published a new Soccernomics book. My reading material for the weekend has been selected. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Money-Football-Soccernomics-Stefan-Szymanski/dp/1568585268/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1435919888&sr=8-1&keywords=soccernomics I have to say that QPR's position on the bottom of your list has to be the least surprising news ever.
  12. I shall have to be careful to use the right signal otherwise I might get a response from Batman. But never mind, I am sure MLG reads all my posts since I use his FM information on my blog.
  13. Does anyone know of a source of information concerning the gate receipts for the top European clubs and/or leagues?
  14. I just posted "Miscellaneous Other Salaries According to Football Manager 2015"
  15. But to be fair when you put all our forward players together, you get this big awkward blog with way too many legs, arms, and heads.

Not really. In football manager you can tell that he is injury prone and, therefore, should never sign him.

For European purposes he would only count as association trained so his home grown status is not that helpful.
  18. It is worth noting that Southampton took 6.51 million pounds for impairment of intangible fixed assets in 2014. Presumably, not all of that was for Osvaldo, but some of it was. There may have also taken some additional impairment for the fiscal year ending in 2015. For accounting and FFP purposes, that means that some of the loss has already been taken. In fact, if they knew he was going to be paid off and released July 1, all of the accounting loss may have already been taken this past season.
  19. He was born a little less than a year after their last league championship.
  20. congrats on being ITK.
  21. Can't speak to always, but clearly this year it is at least partially based upon popularity. Also, aren't there going to be the same number of category A games no matter what so if these two games were not category A some other two games would be. Isn't the club generously giving lower prices on those other two games rather than ripping people off on these two games? Not Aston Villa.
  22. Liebherr might has said no to more "temporary" cash flow assisting loans.
  23. true except that we might not have signed tadic if Lallana hadn't left. Not entirely sure we would have signed Pelle is Lambert had stayed.
  24. Not exactly. When Bush was riding high in the polls, they portrayed him as a good leader doing a good job. When things starting looking bad for Bush, suddenly the books made it look like he didn't really know what he was doing. Of course, he published Maestro in 2000 essentially portraying Alan Greenspan as a genius who had solved the pesky problems where the economy might ever go off track. Woodward may also be skeptical about Schneiderlin transferring to Manchester United. I am not sure.
  25. Perceived value disappeared. Much of the true value remained and was on sale cheap, while the rest was overvalued all along. Of course, I don't claim to be able to see, in advanced, with certainty what is what. Thank you. It seemed that way to me but I couldn't really be sure. Of course, I suppose I should not assert surety based upon your reply alone. Life is so confusing.
