The home grown rules create a premium for English players which can only grow if rules changes are made requiring more home grown players in the future.

I think it is two soon to give up on "Hoj" especially given his age. And with the current prices, he may be a steal even if you are right.
-
I think he is a very useful player late in a game if we like the current score or if we have no choice but to attack on the counter.

This is obviously part of an interview. Is there a way to find the whole interview on line?

And you are a time traveler from the year 3737?

You're right. I was accused of be Ralph or Ronald, not Les. It was the RK initial thing.

I am always skeptical when someone accuses a poster of being a PR plant or actually being Les Reed because I was accused of both when I first started posting here. Yet, no one has accused me of either in years. I assume my real world identity has been sufficiently established that the unlikelihood of my plant status has been generally accepted (by anyone who cares). But I digress. My point is that the accusers have no idea what they are talking about and pretty much never do.

But if Gao is thinking this way, doesn't that suggest that there is no intent to invest further in the club? After all, under Liebherr profits from player transfers have been fully reinvested into new players and increased pay for older players. I recognize that I might be reading too much into the way you phrased things here.

Sorry for missing that, but given that someone else linked to a Samuel article saying that FFP had ended, I think I can be forgiven. In any case, here are some links to relatively recent articles that sort of demonstrate it is still on going. Also, I am not a septic. https://liverpooloffside.sbnation.com/liverpool-fc-transfer-news/2017/6/19/15828876/mohamed-salah-liverpool-transfer-uncertainty-roma-financial-fair-play-porto http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/transfers/liverpool-transfer-news-mohamed-salah-35-million-roma-jurgen-klopp-tadic-keita-werner-solanke-a7785676.html http://www.espnfc.com/uefa-champions-league/story/3141170/porto-are-only-club-punished-for-breaking-financial-fair-play-rules

I don't know what Samuel is talking about. FFP has not ended (or if it has, the news coverage of the ending has been remarkably muted). And Everton has not accomplished anything yet. He makes it sound like Everton has locked up regular appearances in the Champions League. Samuel has always hated FFP for good reason, but this article seems to leave reason behind so that he can assert as true what he wants to be true.

No it didn't.

This change is literally very distressing. My head is figuratively exploding. Meat for thought, I guess. I mean this literally.

On the second one, the point for me was that he moved his hands towards the ball. That makes it deliberate. Tough as it might be, he was supposed to take that one straight to the face.

If we sell to Barcelona we should insist upon a buy back clause.
-
I would be curious to see how they would train for that this week.

I have only read some of the posts so perhaps I have missed the relevant ones, but I am surprised that no one is talking about the missed penalty calls. Based upon the TV replays, it sure looks like we should have had two penalty shots. Had we converted them--admittedly not a sure thing if Tadic is shooting--it would have been an easy victory.

The 2017-18 Pundits pre-season League Prediction Thread

Especially at the same time.

I watch the show regularly and Dan Thomas rarely lets a hint of his fandom come out. He was ready to give the prize to one of the other shirts and seemed surprised at the audience actual response. That being said, the whole thing was quite irregular in every sense of the word.

ESPN FC has chosen the new Southampton home kit as the best one in the league. Warning, this is kind of stupid. http://www.espnfc.us/english-premier-league/23/video/3175978/watch-premier-league-kit-fashion-show

I wonder why I have not seen the same level of detailed fanaticism in US sports. It probably exists but I was satisfied with my own level of fanaticism. Speaking of which, today's post has led to (by far) my second highest day of page hits ever. Alas, my blog is not monetized.

But to be fair, some surprisingly sensible ones as well. I didn't read ahead. This point has been well made.

That's me, although I prefer to think of myself and the author of Griffin Mountain and Snakepipe Hollow. http://grognardia.blogspot.com/2010/07/retrospective-griffin-mountain.html https://www.rpg.net/reviews/archive/12/12938.phtml I sort of assumed that the craziness was equally everywhere. Certainly, the small amount of reading I did of Liverpool boards (following links from here mainly) supported that. I do wonder if other clubs hate a rival as much as Southampton and Portsmouth hate each other. I mean, you people hate each other more than I hate the Los Angeles Dodgers and that is not easy. As for your points about my points about Long, I mostly agree. However, I think there would be a problem with our first two strikers if suddenly they were are second and third striker, especially if we are only going to play one striker at a time. Also, at current prices I don't think we could afford a new best striker unless we sold VVD. The financial problems are probably a confused reference to the tax issues with Markhus Liebherr's estate.
