Premier League table in the eyes of Southampton fans
L_O_Z replied to Singapore Saint's topic in The Saints
We had one back in September http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?51186-Defectors-Watch/page8#.VLu-uctFDqB http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/attachment.php?attachmentid=1330&d=1411329603 -
What site is that? Outright was 2000/1 even quite a few games into the season (e/w top 2 paying 1/3). 33/1 for top 4 is also poor odds :s

Its weird, after we lost our manager and those players I thought we'd finish mid table, maybe 10th to 12th as we still had Fonte, Clyne, Morgan and Wanyama who I felt were all key players. I also preferred Clyne to Chambers at right back. So 10th if lucky, 12th if not (certainly below last seasons 8th). After Koeman and co were employed I felt we could match 8th or even improve on last season as I actually thought Koeman and our signings seemed like improvements. Although unproven in the Prem, most of our signings just seemed classy and last season we suffered due to lack of depth rather than first team quality. The signings not only seemed better but we now seemed to have better cover. What I completely missjudged was how bad Liverpool, Tottenham and Everton were going to be and how poor Arsenal and Man U were going to start. Now I think we can get 4th or even 3rd, but 5th or 6th is more likely. To be fair the chances of finishing 3rd are probably the same as finishing 6th, really its anyones who wants it. What does worry me is that out of Saints, Man U, Arsenal, Tottenham and maybe Liverpool, I feel we are more likely to drop points when we shouldn't (if we want UCL football next season). I think our team is better than the ones mentioned above (on a head to head basis) and that we probably are the 3rd best team in the country (wow), but I'm not sure I trust us to be clinical and take all 3 points against the teams in the relegation battle. That and one or two key players injured could be the difference between UCL and no UCL. Where would we be if we'd have put Liverpool away on day 1, if Mane hadn't of missed that open goal against Tottenham, if we'd have taken some of those chances vs Man U at home and if we hadn't of used up all our subs against Arsenal and played with 10 men... Imagine another 8 points on our total. That's forgetting Forsters error vs Villa and losing to Burnley I hope we get 4th, 3rd would be crazy, but then again so would 4th! It's funny, after the Liverpool game I would have been disappointed with 9th, now I'll be disappointed with 5th (not in a sack Koeman way, I just really want UCL football).

Took me 2 or 3 replays but it does look like he gets something on it
-
Oh come on only 1 of the Liverpool players spotted it was offside. I didn't spot it at first either
-
Lallana seems to be Liverpools biggest threat going forward. Some great turns and looks the most likely to get an assist
-
That can happen with masturbation

I agree 3rd place is where we should be, but "pretenders"
-
"The defending champions put the pretenders in their place" nice commentator!
-
Yea Man City are very poor!
-
Hasn't that already been done? Thought I saw this months ago?

And possibly an infinite number of universes, if you agree with the theory of inflation

It still can't get my head around it. She says she remembers nothing after leaving the club and the whole case is based on her not being able to consent because she was too drunk to. They were in the room at the same time. Maybe if Evans turned up an hour after McDonald left then that could be different (although she still claims she didn't consent to McDonald either) but the 3 of them were there together. If the jury feel that she went willingly (she says she was too drunk to consent) then she's either lying that McDonald raped her or she's mistaken. If she's mistaken about McDonald how can they be 100% that Evans raped her. As you have experience in this area is it normal to serve 2.5 years in prison for rape? I genuinly have no idea how long people spend inside. I have read that if there is more than one offender acting together or if the offender ejaculated then it is 8 not 5 years? Even though McDonald told Evans where the drunk girl he raped was and was present at the time I assume that doesn't count as "more than one offender acting together" otherwise he'd have got 8 not 5 years. I also assume he never ejaculated for the same reason?

But she says she doesn't remember anything after she left the club.* She says she could not consent to going back to a hotel with McDonald because she was too drunk.* Her legal team said McDonald saw she was off her face and led her away.* He took advantage of a vulnerable young woman (vulnerable because she had alcohol and drugs in her system) and then phoned his mate to join in.* Surely they both raped her? McDonald admitted inviting Evans to join in (allegedly with her consent) so doesn't that make McDonald a rapist?* If the jury don't think McDonald raped her for some reason, surely at the very least McDonald is an accessory to rape? If you believe she could consent to McDonald and not Evans then that opens a whole can of worms: 1. Is she then lying that McDonald raped her? 2. Is McDonald an accessory to rape for finding a heavily drunk girl and inviting his mate to have sex with her in his presence? 3.*At what point is she not able to consent?* Before she met McDonald she drank two large glasses of wine, four double vodkas, sambuca and she had cocaine and cannabis in her system. She was seen on the floor in a takeaway. An hour later she was having sex with two men. One's a rapist the other is an everyday citizen. How do they justify letting one off and convicting the other. I'm not saying he is innocent, just something doesn't fit. They are both arseholes anyway, but so are 100,000 other young guys and girls who sh*g strangers who are drunk and either not able to consent or who wouldn't consent if they were sober.

Does anyone know why Evans was convicted and not McDonald? From what I've read the woman claimed she got so drunk that she doesn't remember what happened and therefore couldn't give consent to either. So any man who had sex with her raped her. Both Evans and McDonald admitted having sex with her but she doesn't remember it. After she found out they both admitted to having consensual sex with her she accused them both of rape. One is convicted the other is proven innocent and Evans only gets 5 years and is out in 2... I've never heard of anything like that before. Surely the media must be talking nonsense? I personally think footballers are the worst role models out there. Using prostitutes, cheating on wives, cheating with mates wives, cheating with brothers wives, biting over players, headbutting other players, constant diving and trying to get other players booked or sent off, racial slures etc. Not suggesting that any of that is as bad as rape, just saying that footballers in general make terrible role models anyway... I'm not sure convicted rapists should play in televised matches but I don't see why they couldn't play for a football club. Although didn't Mark Wahlberg blind someone when he was younger? Didn't dirty Den from Eastenders serve 10 years for murder? No one told him he couldn't be in Eastenders 4 nights a week.
