If the aim of that piece is to dissuade people, other chairmen included, that Koeman actually isn't as good as he appears, that's fine by me.

Pompey is the dodgy market stall that sells "Timmy Hillfinger" aftershave and DVDs of new cinema releases filmed on a shaky camcorder.

Tom Huddlestone said that tactically we're the best team they've played against this season... and they've played Man City, Liverpool and Arsenal. http://www1.skysports.com/watch/video/sports/football/teams/southampton/9545157/huddlestone-applauds-saints

Will Roko and the board go for broke in January!!!
Danger Mouse replied to Bermuda Saint's topic in The Saints
"Going for broke"? No. "Making Spurs pay over the odds for JRod and then spending 20m of the remaining 30m profit from our summer sales on a world class strike partner for Pelle"? Probably not but who knows?! It's exciting to think about either way! -
New Koeman Chant- to be given trial run at Hull
Danger Mouse replied to MickeyAggy's topic in The Saints
To the tune of The Flintstones Grazi, ano Pelle; He's the best striker in his-to-ry. Playing, for Southampton; Scores some goals that make you say "f*ck me!" -
He's a great keeper, but not the best at defending set pieces and corners, plus he's not the quickest at getting down and to his side to meet low shots. As for people not getting the "criticism" or "questioning of his abilities"... Once you accept that he's not yet on the same level as the Neuers and Casillas of this world, then you also have to accept that there is room for him to improve certain aspects of his game. To not discuss or even acknowledge these areas of potential improvement is just burying your head in the sand. ...but yeah, like I say, he's a great keeper and I look forward to him getting even better.

I would change the "Italian" line to... We bought a man called Pelle and he scores a tonne -
When will the media stop writing 'despite losing......in the summer'
Danger Mouse replied to Saintru's topic in The Saints
When? When the media as a whole finds creating a "narrative" less lucrative. I mean, seriously. What do you expect them to do... ignore last season and the players we had playing for us? Ignore the close season? Ignore the whole last 12 months? This season Man U, for instance, will be defined by Van Gaal and his signings, Moyes and his signings and how well/poorly they did last season. Why would we be any different. Get off your high horse, etc, etc... A person with a victim complex is really embarrassing to witness. -
West ham obsessed with us? And stoke reaction to our team/season

To register you have to register a global ProBoards account (I think), as opposed through the Stoke bit. You can do that here... https://login.proboards.com/register -
Although they forgot to update the write-up... "It was another Sunderland donation but Tadic continued to show little mercy as he fed Wanyama who smashed home from 12 yards and then set up Mane for his first goal in English football. "
-
Why do I always get the sense that Stoke, both as a place and a football team, are stuck in the 70s?

I'd invite you to watch the replay again http://www.footballorgin.com/2014/10/premier-league-2014-2015-bbc-match-of_19.html (at 11:40-ish) There is clear contact. That's all there is to it. Whether Fraser Forster was sliding along or moving in any way or not is irrelevant, his foot was raised, it made contact with the other player without getting to the ball... it's a foul.
-
Kind of embarrassing to see people claiming it was never a penalty. He missed the ball and tripped the player. Luckily for us, the ref made a mistake.

Well we got a mention on MOTD2 Extra this morning... they had a phone call with JWP and everything!

If you want to help the club attract more overseas supporters, you can come and join us at http://www.reddit.com/r/saintsfc and http://www.reddit.com/r/soccer Reddit is a big, BIG, American social-media/linkdump website if you didn't already know. /r/soccer is the largest sports subreddit in terms of subscribers and /r/saintsfc is one of the fastest growing team subreddits in percentage terms. Here's the thread for Pelle's goal yesterday btw http://www.reddit.com/r/soccer/comments/2hmdy6/pelle_goal_against_qpr/ which garnered ~4000 upvotes and may have even been the #1 link on the whole site for a while! We (/r/saintsfc) get a slow steady stream of new, mostly American, fans introducing themselves... saying they started supporting us after seeing us play on TV, playing as us in FIFA or Football Manager, etc. Asking the kinds of questions you'd expect of someone who wasn't brought up in a football culture and have no family ties to any football team. So yeah, it's a great place for local fans to connect with new fans from around the world and share their passion, make them feel welcome and a part of the saints family. -
I think it's because Chadli specifically ran over to the Arsenal fans to do it which, according to Law 12 (page 120 of the Laws of the game), is a goal celebration considered to be "provocative, derisory or inflammatory". So yeah, you can make the "shhh" and "I can't hear you" gestures all you like, but you can't run over to the opposition fans and do it at them.

When Gary Lineker interviewed him on last weeks MOTD he finished by saying "Thanking, bye"
