  1. Dad took me to Bristol City 1966 at Easter Saints won 1-0 on their way to promotion, cant remeber too much about the game but can remember stood down the side of the groung where the Dolman Stand now stands.
  2. Only game I missed was Villa Replay couldn't find anyone else who wanted to go as was too young to drive, went by Car to West Brom, Special Train to Bradford still remember walking up the ground past several pubs with front windows smashed out, Coach to Semi and Car to Final, followed by Plane to Marseilles but thats for another thread.
  3. 1976/77 Ian Turner. Steve Middleton, Peter Wells, plus Colin Boulton and Jim Montgomery on loan from Derby and Sunderland respectively
  4. Dave Jones is definately still with us, I him saw him in the Hospitality area will Nicola Cortese before the Orient game
  5. I'm happy with our current form and performances, but we must not get ****y or complacent. Everyone got carried away before the Orient game but we almost mucked it up, on our day we are certainly one of the top 3 teams in this league but we shouldn't take things for granted, we need to work hard and be consistant if we are to continue our cuurent excellent run.
  6. Do you have Mick Lucas, Robin Richardson and the sadly departed Bob Weekes on your list, London Saints one and all who definately did every game
  7. I'm so sorry I know how Gordon Brown feels now !
  8. Spoke to AP in hospitality before Orient game, told him how good I thought Antonia was, he agreed and said doing all they can to extend loan, which they did early last week. I'm sure if he maintains his current form we'll buy him in Jan (he's out of contract at end of the season)
  9. Im sure we were given 1300 on our last 2 visits
  10. Talking of ex-P*mpey players, I was in the Hospitality Area on Saturday with London Saints before and after the game, the host looked like a big ex-heavyweight boxer complete with broken nose, but he turned out to be a footballer . His name was Paul Went who played for P*rtsmouth in the 70's, I saw him play many times and he was a quality centre half, and took the stick we gave him very well. He told us that he was due to be transfered from them to us in 1975 in a Swap deal, but the deal fell through because one of the two players from Saints who were going to be exchanged didn't want to go to Nottarf Krap. The player in question was Bobby Stokes, so who knows what might have happened had the deal gone through, but one things for sure Bobby would not of scored the winner at Wembley or be the hero he still is for many Saints fans. Bobby did go to P*mpey later in his career but i'm glad it was after May 1st 1976
  11. Flight to Newcastle from Southampton was £69 return when our group booked in Sept not sure of current price
  12. Tickets go on sale for this game next monday with 2100 initially available + another 600 if required. http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/TicketNews/0,,10280~1844380,00.html After the great turn out Saturday it would be great to get at least 2000 for this match
  13. When collecting my Rovers tickets lunchtime had chat with member of staff who informed me that Barry Fox Club Secretary was leaving his post today after 31 years at the club. I've dealt with Barry many times over the years and he has always been very helpful to both me and London Saints. Yet another link to the past gone, and his leaving was voluntarily or a retiremnet I understand.
  14. According to their travel planner its open
  15. If the game goes ahead on Jan 2 think there will loads of trouble regards tickets as away end only holds 1600, so makes problems we've had with Orient tickets seem minor in comparison.
  16. 20 London Saints going to Hartlepool, hotel already booked for overnight stay, I think we'll actually get a good turn out of 500+ for this game. By the way Orient's official site has lots of information regarding tickets for Saturday, if you haven't bee able to get a tcket from Saints. http://www.leytonorient.com/page/NewsDetail/0,,10439~1838764,00.html
  17. Good point, next Saturday away game is Walsall Dec 5th given current interest we should be taking at least 2,000 up there, given we are taking 3,250 + to Orient and had over 900 at Carlisle and Oldham.
  18. Mate went this morning, he failed to get ticket, all tickets now sold out He does work by the way, but is a teacher so off this week for half term
  19. I think this was the 1976/77 season around christmas time, I was on one of the two coaches that day, run at that time by Bernie Watts and Rolly the predecesor of the Foley coach. We went to watch Reading v Palace at Elm park instead that day where there was allsorts of fun and games in the ground before and during the game. The Orient game was finally played midweek later in the season when I'm pretty sure we won 3-2
  20. The corner was closed for the majority of games last season, I sat with my mate in Block 35 many times last season and Block 36 to 39 was always closed. This season they started by opening block 36 and from Bristol Rovers game had it aqll open, it has been a great atmosphere in this area all season, and it's good for those with kids like me as you don't have to stand up all game so the kids can actually see the game !!
  21. I was at Newcastle game along with 7 other London Saints, and was surprised how many other Saints fans I saw either on train up or in pub before the game, some blagged hospitality, others like us got relatives who lived locally to get tickets for them. Must have been at least 30 up there. For Luton had Newcastle mate who lived in Dunstable who lent me his membership each year, I even lent it to som ep*mpey fans one year so they could get in at Luton. I would say we always had at least 50 probably more there, in our 4-3 win there you can clearly see the Saints fans dancing around at the current away end as the goals go in. The worst support I have ever witnessed must have been away to Everton in 1992. Which I think was the tuesday after the ZDS final. I would be surprised if we even had 50 there, days after we had 30,000 + at Wembley.
  22. Just checked on Leeds website they were given 2000 tickets for tommorows game, be surprised if they actuially give any teams more than that on crowd safety grounds
  23. Having seen Real Madrid's defending last night v Milan I think you are being most unfair to liken us to them ! But I know where your coming from we are along with Leeds, Norwich and possibly Charlton the teams to beat in this league and everybody seems to raise their game against us, but at the moment we are handling it well. Certainly with the team we have at the moment we shouldn't fear anyone in this league, we are making steady progress, and a win in front of a big crowd on Saturday would be yet another step in the right direction.

    Leyton Orient

No different really to what they now charge at St Mary's (Channon Suite £50 + VAT, no drinks + hot snacks), but if people can't get a ticket and desperate to go might be an option for some.
