I think £38, £35 and £30 for standard seats is reasonable, I wouldn't have been surprised if those seats were £45, £40 and £35 respectively. Although Premium and Centre seats are expensive i'll think find there are not many actually available following the sale of season tickets.

This is groundhog day We had exactly the same thread before the start of last season There are still 3 weeks to go before the season starts so no need to panic yet
-
Those figures are well out of date, but still low sales in Blocks 1/2, 4, 11,12 and 13 Itchen and most of Chapel, not too many left in Family Centre approx 750, Kingsland approx 1220 or Northam less than 200

I checked figures on line yesterday and showed 21,853 reserved, 6,235 still available, but as others have said how many actually sold not sure but gives you a reasonable idea for most areas. Yesterday the following seats reserved /remaining in the different stands Northam (Blocks 40 - 42) 2207 / 195 Kingsland (Blocks 28 - 39) 7721 / 1219 Family Centre Blocks 20- 27) 3114 / 743 Chapel (Blocks 12-20) 2412 / 2840 Itchen (Blocks 1-11) 6399 / 1238

Cheapest beer at the Rosebowl is £4, and it's £4.30 for Magners so St Mary's cheap by comparision

My tickets are have Block seat and row numbers on them
-
Bournemouth are lucky to take 200 to Northern games, and they didn't even sell 900 tickets for Brighton away on a saturday 2 seasons ago, so bang goes your theory

Sunderland and several other clubs from up North bring loads here because so many of their fans have either moved down to London or home counties for work West Ham do travel well up North, but they have a big advantage with road and rail links from London By train you can be In Manchester and Liverpool in just over 2 hours from London and Newcastle in 2 and a half hours, from here you talking more like 4 to 5 hrs to Manchester by train for example it makes a big difference.
-
Yes that's the case, and you can also obtain a view of the pitch from approximately the same spot as your seat (3 views for most blocks) I'm sure this will be up and running come once the season ticket sales have finished and tickets for the Wigan and Man U games go on sale
-
There were quite a few down there this morning, but 4 windows open and it took me less than 15mins to get my tickets for Saturday, a lot depends on how many are buying season tickets as this seems to take an age
-
the site gives you total number of seats plus how many remining for each block, fairly simple exercise to work out the figures
-
Abit bored this morning so checked latest figures on line Out of 28,088 tickets on system 20,646 sold, and 7,442 still available Tickets still available are as follows Itchen - 1438 Chapel - 3080 Family Area - 857 Kingsland - 1781 (mainly in Wings) Northam - 286 I think this figures a bit distorted however as it includes prees box + alll corporate area excluding boxes being sold out and also Block 3 where many think club are giving out complimentary tickets. Even so with 3 more weeks until sales end, a good figure so far and that there will not be too many match day tickets available for big games

It's the same for under 17's they too come up as Adult price

The game your think about was Carrick Rangers away in the Cup Winneres cup 1976/77 I went to the Limerick away game, on Clive Foley's coaches, it was fine in and around the town before the game, but due to IRA and anti British feelings it was realy hostile at the ground and although it had been arranged to have an event with Limerick fans after this had to be cancelled as mobs arrived trying to attack both us and our coaches. Won the game 3-0 though

He was definately at Orient away in our first season in League One when Pardew was in charge as the Directors shared the hospitality area with supporters like me. Barry Hearn was there too and very friendly and welcoming to the numerous Saints fans present, didn't get the chance to speak to Cortese though.

I thought Mark Hughes 9 - 1 formation with a change to 8- 1 formation in the second half against Man City worked quite well. This is something I believe he copied from Chelsea against v Barcelona although Chelsea changed to the 8- 1 formation much ealier in the game and sometimes employed the 9-0 formation to great effect. Although I have it on good authority that Saints were one of the first teams to employ the 9 - 1 formation in the early 70's under Ted Bates, with Mike Channon as a lone striker

Bolton and Reading are both built built close to moterway junctions, and has a station similar to the one Coventry are planning to build and it just doesn't work, apart from bar in casino or those in the ground pubs are at least a mile away form the ground. Inner city ground for more anytime rather than a souless out of town ground
-
The majority of fans are local or drive down, its only away fans that typically come on the train in large numbers and spunking out god knows how many millions for network rail to construct a platform that is at best going to be used once every 2 weeks for 40 week sof the year is frnakly a waste of money. you obviously don't travel by train The trains to and from Salisbury carry loads of Saints fans to and from games, can often be standing room only on way down, with loads of supporters from Gillingham, Sherborne in the west and Warminster, Trowbridge, Bath and Bristol too. Loads of fans come up on train from Bournemouth and Weymouth na down form Andover, Basingstoke and Winchester too. Many come in from Fareham in the east In the past the majority of season ticket holders didn't actually live in Southampton, I'm not sure if that's still the case but I can assure you a significant number travel to home games on the train
-
Have you ever been to out of town stadiums like Reading or Bolton at Reading if you travel by train the last time I went there it was impossible to get a bus back to the railway station which is 4 miles away and it takes ages to get out of the car parks. At Bolton if you drive it's Ok but it's very difficult if you travel by train with only one small train every half hour to get you away from the ground. As thousands currently travel by train to St Mary's, which is only 20min walk at most from Central Station and a similar walk to St Deny's, Bitterne or Woolston moving to somewhere out of town would cause even more congestion. Also out of towns don't generally offer the range of pubs, places to eat that city centre ground offer. St Mary's may have a few issues regards traffic and parking but I can assure you that out of town grounds have even more problems and than we experince at St Mary's and in Southampton I love the way the whole town comes to life on match days.

Saints definately were wearing Navy Blue / Sky Blue with sky blue shorts in the home leg, If it had been Red and White shorts would have been black which is possibly why they changed kit didn't go away leg so not sure what colours were worn by i've got a couple of mates who went so I'll check with them
