I've noticed one or two commentators using the word "smuggled" quite a bit, it seems like a fairly recent addition to the tater's dictionary. Unless I'm mistaken. "He's smuggled the ball into the net." "The boy's tried to smuggle it through the gap." Smuggling?? Are they shoving it up their shirts or disguising the ball to look like turf?

Already mentioned but footballer's grammar does my head in, how come so many of them speak the same way? "He's one of them players." "He's came out for the ball."

It's a win win situation for them. If Puel bombs they get to shout about how they predicted this would happen and if he's a success they get to complain that the club did nothing to keep him and should have matched his ambition.

That pretty much sums up my feelings. Seems worse this Summer. Perhaps as the club progresses with each season, the number of ball-less, lily-livered, poor-excuses for grown men increases? God help us if something serious ever befalls this country if some of the eunuchs on here are representative of our adult population.

We looked absolutely terrible for a while after they scored, but it's nothing new, I remember some rubbish performances during the first half of last season. The second half was a lot more positive, thought we played some nice football and looked dangerous at times, just couldn't find the clean finish which is no surprise with 10 men behind the ball. Loved the build-up to Redmond's offside goal, would have been a beautifully worked strike had it stood. Thought Cedric was awful. Pied looked better going forward but can't judge him yet as he had no defending to do. Pierre Emil H looks total class to me - calm, controlled, intelligent, he oozes quality. Redmond had a much better second half and could be great for us. Shame we couldn't grab all 3 points but felt a lot more positive after the second half display. At least we didn't lose

Think we went to pieces after they scored, but fought our way back into it. Watford are able to stick everyone behind the ball after gifting them that early goal so it's very hard to break down. Think Puel may have a bit of a shock at how physical the Prem is. For me I'd play Redmond where is is used to playing, out on the wing, I think he'd be far more dangerous. Cedric has been pretty awful, his passing has been shocking. Wonder if Pied will come on in his place. Come on Saints!!

I imagine it would be pretty difficult to appear inspirational when he can't speak the language. You can see he is having to use all his brain power just speaking basic English. Must be tough. However, I don't know him or have any inside knowledge as to what his character is like...so maybe he is a bit like that anyway. As mentioned above, as long as the players do what's required I couldn't care less.

They were talking about him on Talksport today, bloke from Evening Standard (I think) said that it was David Pleat who was behind the Dele Alli signing not Paul Mitchell.
