in the last 10 minutes heard a Spurs fan saying how nobody had heard of Luke Shaw before Pochettino took over Saints and then he turned him into a £30mil player by giving him his chance in the first team, which is why he's such a fantastic coach. This must be a different Luke Shaw to the one that set up Jason Puncheon's equaliser at Stamford Bridge in Nigel Adkins' last match in charge and had already been a regular starter for months

"I was really impressed by Mane - not that we need him. Shame on me, but I knew very little about him before the game - and he was a constant threat to us (who wasn't, though). Incredibly gifted and has an eye for a pass. Not that we need him at all, of course." LOL

Clyne pictured on our Instagram page picking up an EA award, wearing a training top. The top could be just for show possibly but hopefully a suggestion he's back in training and therefore alright for Sunday!

Sadio Mané says he will be back in just two weeks

Anyone reckon he maybe wasn't injured at all? Was a bit of a strange one at the time, got his goal then got injured immediately. Diafra Sahko has suffered the same fate, Senegal aren't having much luck! -
Lallana out for a month with a thigh injury, just as he was starting to find some form. Real shame that...

He walked past me at the United game so he didn't really help us then!

I know some are going to say 'shows how important Cork is' and then others will reply 'but it was only against blah blah blah'. But what a great stat for Jack himself, not conceding a goal and averaging 3.5 goals per game when he's in the side. I for one will be very sad if this is Jack's final season with us, great professional.

If a goalkeeper faces 20+ shots a game, at this level he is bound to pull off a few good saves and look like a word beater like David Marshall last season and currently Tom Heaton. Fraser isn't getting that chance to make himself look good, so at the moment he's only being judged on the basis of quiet performances and errors like tonight. It's easy to make errors of judgement when you're stood around all game not doing a lot, and then suddenly you are called into action. Let's be honest, obviously they all end up in the same result (a goal) but it wasn't the worst goalkeeper error we've ever seen, and it certainly wasn't comparable to either of Boruc's last season in my opinion. If it wasn't for that half a second of hesitation Fraser would've cleaned that up, he looks nervous, and not surprisingly, he's still yet to be tested at this level whatsoever! Give the guy I chance, I loved Boruc but I feel a million times happier with FF in between the sticks, just his presence alone seems more reassuring.

Confirmed on Twitter, one change for tonight which is Long in for Davis

for anyone that doesn't have the club on Snapchat; Dusan and Morgan both on the video walking into Villa Park in full tracksuits and carrying wash bags so imagine they'll be featuring.

shows how high the standard is that I forgot that one!

We'd already have a pretty good goal of the season competition! Clyne vs. Liverpool & Arsenal, Pelle vs. QPR & Stoke, Wanyama vs. Hull. Some other great but not so spectacular finishes in there as well.

I have my own views on the case in discussion but they are not important. What is really important is that Luke McCormick and Lee Hughes have both been allowed to play professional football despite having killed people through driving whilst drunk, and Marlon King (ironically last attached to Sheffield United) despite serving multiple prison sentences for various offences (sexual assault included). Football set a precedent with these 3 cases before Ched Evans. Regardless of your opinion on this one I don't see how anyone could justify Ched Evans being refused the chance to resume his career, when there are convicted killer's playing.

MK Dons stole a club, so I guess they couldn't really complain haha

Perhaps it's not wanting to live in Liverpool that does it. Or perhaps, it's just that they want to play for manager's with some sort of pedigree (Mourinho, Wenger, Van Gaal, Pellegrini) who have actually achieved something other, rather than a fraud like Brendan. Seem to recall reading Sanchez was desperate to play for Wenger, can't ever imagine anyone saying "i'm desperate to play for Brendan Rodgers".

5-0 Saints. Pelle hat-trick, Tadic and Schneiderlin. Live on TV, chance to show the world what we're about over 90 minutes and not just what they see on MOTD. These 1-0 and 2-0's aren't doing us justice, we are fantastic to watch, and thats exactly what everyone will be saying after this game.

Can't help but think what a great time for Jay to return from such a serious injury. We're not relying on him to come straight in and start, or relieve us from a desperate fight against relegation or goal drought. He can ease his way back in and not be rushed, knowing the pressure is off which hopefully will prevent any potential recurrence's. Would love to see him come off the bench in one of our so called 'big games' in the next couple of months and win it though.

has to be this surely! short and sweet, funny, and to an already easily singable song

How many Liverpool fans does it take to change a lightbulb? They don't, they just sit around talking about how good the old one was.

Despite not been keen on Long whenever I'd seen him on opposing teams, and being disappointed by what we paid for him, I actually found myself thinking "we could do with bringing Long on to make Stoke have something to think about" as the game bece a little more based in our half. I would never have thought I'd be saying that back in August, so all in all he's completely changed my opinion! Well done to him, not going to be a prolific goal scorer but I can definitely see his worth to the team.

I'd sacrifice the £16mil we got for Chambers to have him back. But i'm happy with Tadic+£10mil over Lallana, and Toby(if he signs) & Gardos+£6mil over Lovren, and Bertrand(if he signs)+£20mil over Shaw. In dreamworld i'd love the Ox back, think once he rids himself of some injury problems and gets a good run of games he will be a star. Bale and Theo don't count as they were pre Liebherr, but if only aye.
-
Always maintained that we don't 'need' a £30million left back. Bertrand is doing a great job and for (potentially) a third of the price. Would rather have Bertrand for 10, than Shaw for 30. I'm obviously well aware Shaw is a far superior player though.
-
haha not a very good one, I had to google a picture just to double check it was him!
-
Saw him in West Quay about an hour ago, not that it's relevant or that anyone probably cares! But he doesn't get spoken about much so thought i'd take the opportunity.

The standing ovation he got when he left the field on Saturday was one of the best I can remember, it was goosebump worthy. Similarly when he scored his goal, just seemed like everyone in the stadium genuinely really loves Jack and was delighted for him. I will be gutted if he leaves our club, true unsung hero and a great footballer.
