  1. Thats fine by me if we play Yoshida/Vest, given that they can actually win a header. Anything else is a disaster.
  2. Isn't their success largely credited to the guy that owns them who also owns that football data company and they buy their players with the help of the data his company collects? Sure I read that somewhere.
  3. Just said he's known Les a long time in his press conference and been involved with him throughout his coaching career
  4. Yeah I would be unhappy with anybody off of that merry-go-round besides Allardyce (but granted think the general reception would be negative so probably wouldn't last with us either). For me, as much as I can't stand the guy, Brendan Rodgers is the semi-realistic dream - perhaps a new DoF and 'project' may allow us to attract a slightly bigger/better name than we would have been able to until this morning. I just feel like Rodgers needs a middling Prem success before he's worth a punt with another 'big' club. What he's done at Celtic is decent but he's still failed in Europe and their league is **** easy, I can't see a big club using his time in Scotland as a justification for hiring him anytime soon. Alternatively go back to the European route which I still maintain we didn't **** up with Puel, but absolutely did **** up with Pellegrino. Puel wanted to use the academy players, look at the overhaul he's done with Leicester (albeit the level of success is still debated among their fanbase like it was/is among ours), I think in that sense he was actually a very good fit for us and all the young players he tried to get involved regularly have gone from European nights and Premier League football to mediocre loan spells in the lower leagues. We shouldn't be adverse to taking a punt just because Pellegrino was so appallingly bad, at our level if you don't gamble you normally end up standing still at best, or regressing like we have in the last two years. We could easily become an attractive proposition once again, it just needs a few decent decisions and a bit of luck.
  5. Either your maths or your knowledge of goalkeeper transfer fees needs some work! What would Pickford be worth after playing for Everton for two seasons? Probably more than Kepa cost Chelsea. (Not to say Gunn is any good whatsoever but that sort of inflation is by no means unrealistic these days for an English 22 year old goalkeeper)
  6. Could be a few months of serious turmoil ahead as we try to adapt and combat the issues that are going to arise from this, like what do we do with the Gabbi song now?!?!? It's still relevant because he was bought under Les' reign, but are we allowed to still sing his name? Maybe there could be a poll on this too!?
  7. That seems a bit bizarre
  8. With Shearer's 100% relegation record, and Keegan's complete lack of bottle, I can tell you one spirit that would not be raised in the slightest!
  9. Do DoF type figures bring their own staff like new manager's do? Wonder if Reed is the 'big name' to go, the replacement comes in and brings a manager/Ross Wilson replacement with him like Everton did with Silva and their DoF in the summer? Here's hoping.* * I definitely don't blame Hughes for any of what's happening, but feel we could do with a complete overhaul to start fresh and lift everything/everyone.
  10. Allardyce hasn’t failed anywhere in football terms? He is incomparable to Hughes, Moyes, Pardew etc. He is extremely good at what he does, just like Pulis is. Whether you enjoy watching it is a different question. But to be quite honest I don’t enjoy watching us draw 0-0 and get spanked 6-1 either, so I am 100% sure Allardyce would improve us. Everton sacked him because they think they’re bigger than having him as manager, he left Sunderland for England, he left Palace for ‘retirement’. There’s plenty of re-writing of history when it comes to Big Sam.
  11. I thought Bednarek was quite good today and was saying as much when they read out he was being substituted, so I was very surprised by that. Weirdly we probably had more clear chances than Chelsea, despite feeling like there was only one team on the pitch for most of the game. There’s just no feeling in the stadium for the last 18 months, just silence most of the time and I don’t even get that bothered when we lose. Just a bit weird.
  12. A few of us knew that at the time, he performed miracles with a **** team
  13. This is absolutely perfect I really hope this takes off! Easy, catchy and fits perfectly.
  14. I agree, I told my brother (a United fan who obviously didn’t think Mane was that good because he played for us) in his second season that he’d be top 10 players in the world one day and I still believe that. He’s what, 24? So much more to give and just agility and turn of pace i’ve never seen before.
  15. I put Mane in my fantasy team this year, whilst most went for Salah. Mane will be their main man this season i'm sure of it, he's better than Salah and last season was a huge anomaly in Salah's career. Mane can be a superstar.
  16. Steady on, it was a pass meant for Long that he was prevented from receiving by a foul, which then deceived the next defender with the bounce allowing Ings to slip in. I'm glad Cedric had a good game, it's about time.
  17. I don't get the criticism of the only bloke who's scored any goals for us in the last two seasons despite being injured for most of them (fair enough to criticise his fitness record, but can't question his ability imo) - but I'm pretty sure he's played more than 9 minutes this season...
  18. Leroy Sane version of the one I mentioned is probably a better one than the Bolasie one because him and Redmond have the same number of syllables in their name. But this song always sticks in my head whenever I hear a team singing it.
  19. Due a song surely. Been here two and a bit seasons now, clearly the negativity around him was affecting him last year as Hughes has alluded to several times recently. If he responds positively to support then would be great if we could sing about him. As I'm lacking anything original then the old 'Yannick Bolasie runs down the wing for me' song would be a good fit (especially now he does seem to want to actually run down the wing!) if there isn't anything better. Very impressed by his improvement so far this season.
  20. He’s pathetic, people are so blind if they think we can’t do better than him. That ‘defending’ today was Sunday league stuff, absolutely baffling.
  21. Can anyone tell me anything that Cedric does even remotely well? I can’t think of a player so regularly at fault for goals we’ve conceded in our history.
  22. Cedric  I’ve heard Ali Dia’s been asking him for tips on how to trick people into thinking you’re a footballer
  23. Thought it was weird Yoshida wasn’t fit for last weekend. Find it worrying that he’s not in the squad this weekend! Whats going on?
  24. Burnely are the only prem club that would sign Vydra, that's the level of player they sign, Championship level players than Dyche manages to get the absolute maximum out of which creates a decent team. You only have to look at the players that have left for 'better' teams and not done a lot like Michael Keane and Andre Gray. Hendrick, George Boyd, Robbie Brady, Ashley Barnes, Nahki Wells are all Championship players. Vydra would have been a terrible signing for us.
  25. Yoshida Vestergaard (may be better than Yoshida but it's early days) Bednarek Stephens Every other CB in the club, down to U7's Hoedt
