That Matt Law is a Spurs writer and was so far off the money with all the Kane stuff, pretty much said exactly the opposite of everything that happened. Not sure i’d believe a word of what he says tbh.
-
I do think credit to him for wanting to leave to just play football, rather than leave to sit on the bench for a bigger club. Lots of young players aren’t waiting around anymore, and want to get games straight away, as we’ve seen with Sancho in particular but there’s a few more young players who have left PL clubs to go abroad for game time. It’s a shame all we saw was that horror show against United, I hope he goes on to do well.

Lots on Twitter that Brandon Williams’ season long loan is about to be finalised. Fabrizio Romano said to have confirmed it in a video.

Jannik Vestergaard - Official: Signs for Leicester
saintwbu replied to ChiefScummer's topic in The Saints
I thought Vestergaard was really good against England, stepped into midfield and won a few great tackles to stop England attacks too. Agree with the feeling towards Sam Matterface though, dreadful. Remember listening to him on TalkSport a few times and thinking how glad I was he doesn’t commentate on TV games, now he’s commentating on the biggest games in my lifetime ffs. -
Of the strikers in the Prem that are ‘available’, Tammy Abraham would be the best/most exciting probably. But as mentioned, i’m sure the figures mentioned around him have been ridiculous.
-
Well in that scenario it should’ve been don’t give it, as the lino flagged it offside. So without VAR it wouldn’t have been given.
-
Not really though - the offside was given by the linesman at the time, which looked correct. VAR took an absolute age to then overrule a marginal decision, to give a 4th goal in a 4-0 defeat in the 94th minute. Hardly an effective example of VAR in action.

He always seemed a big threat when I watched Fulham. I’d lost interest in him whilst he was at Everton but his spell at Fulham showed he’s definitely good enough at this level.
-
I think it was him being shit which drew most criticism

I agree, watching the game last night, whilst desperate for JWP to get the call up, all I could think by the end was ‘we need another CB in the squad’. Mings is an absolute liability, so it basically leaves us with Stones and Coady until Maguire is fit (might not even be fit for the group games). Disaster waiting to happen.
-
Losing the 4th right back and replacing him with a CB just shows how badly the squad was picked in the first place. Maguire clearly isn’t going to be fit for the first game, leaving us with Stones, Mings and Coady as proper CB’s. Mings is terrible, so White is definitely needed. Thank god our 4th choice RB got injured, really.

Supporting the players in taking the knee
saintwbu replied to SaintJackoInHurworth's topic in The Saints
Regardless of what Southgate or any commentator tries to say, this gesture entered football in support of BLM. It’s not questionable. It was on the shirts, it was in the stands, it was on the Sky score icon at the top of the screens. Then, when clubs (Palace maybe?) and others started to question the ethics behind supporting BLM the organisation, the Premier League rowed back and distanced themselves saying BLM didn’t stand for that. But at the same time, removed all branding etc from shirts and stadiums. That doesn’t suddenly mean it isn’t associated. I have no problem with kneeling staying, as long as no repercussions are taken against those who boo it. As the attendances increase, so will the booing imo. Some applaud, some boo. That’s the public outlook on this ceremony at the start of the game, both the conflicting receptions are perfectly allowed. I’ll be surprised if the gesture remains next season as more fans start to attend, but we’ll see. -
Godfrey was poor in both games I thought (albeit first game was short). White looked a much more comfortable player, and would prefer him to get the nod if it’s between both. Mings is shit, so could see Southgate opting for one of those two to be the 26th man.
-
And they’ve been in our penalty area more times in the last 10 minutes than the rest of the game combined
-
Think JWP has won every duel so far, and hasn’t misplaced a pass. If this game is influencing anything, it should be him.
-
He was brilliant in his season in the Prem, a real creator which there aren’t many of around at the moment, and still only 24. If Norwich could sell him at £35mil and get Pereira in for £15mil i’d say it’s a great transfer for Villa and Norwich.
-
Still southern though, maybe the family could move halfway there 🙃
-
Maybe he’ll go to Brighton once Potter gets taken from them
-
That yellow kit is lovely, the Saints badge looks a little bit off though, so not sure if that’s genuine.
-
Then what would Lingard being in there be for? I mention Watkins because he’s only picked 2 actual strikers, which seems a bit weird, but as I say i’m basing it on logic/weakness of the squad. Southgate picked 4 right backs, so i’m not sure he operates with the same approach.
-
I think Lingard may get in, but I do think based on logic/areas of weakness in the squad it should be JWP or a striker (Watkins)
-
Blimey, amazing what a good run of form over a short period can do. No one mentioned Chris Wood until about February and now all of a sudden he’s become a player everyone likes!
-
Given he was the final sub tonight, behind Godfrey at CB, I would be absolutely shocked if he’s there for any reason other than some experience and to make up the numbers. One for the future, but definitely not there on merit this season.

La Liga winner, right back in La Liga team of the year, plays in one of the best defensive teams in the world under probably the best defensive manager in the world, and was arguably our best player at the last World Cup. Wouldn’t say he’s lucky to be there!

It’s like the days of us and Exeter having Flybe on almost identical kits #mems
