Not sure that Donald would agree with the Gettysburg address. A nation dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal? Doesn't sound like something he believes, quite the opposite in fact. Doubt Lincoln had to listen to fucking morons shouting 'USA!' either.

It's come to something when the Monster Raving Loony Party seems like the only sane option!

Had to chuckle when she talked about a high wage economy when half the country is on strike because they want higher wages! -
Sweden has already conducted and published its public investigation of how its government handled the pandemic: https://www.regeringen.se/rattsliga-dokument/statens-offentliga-utredningar/2022/02/sou-202210/

Unlike our last Croatian CB, let's hope his head stays in Southampton! -
Top servant, can only wish him all the best at Girona! My overriding memory of him is his header in the league cup final. I was behind it and for all the world thought it was in. When it crashed off the woodwork with de Gea beaten all ends up I feared it wasn't to be our day and so it sadly proved.

Has to be New Zealand; beautiful scenery, amazing unique wildlife and friendly locals with a great sense of humour (the fishing ain't bad either!).

Yep, big fan of Slovenia as well. The Soca valley with its beautiful clear turquoise water is always an amazing site.

It's anything but functioning at the moment. Let's face it, there are still some ministerial roles unfilled. Take science for example, since George Freeman resigned at the start of July we haven't had a science minister. My other half works at UKRI and the lack of ministerial oversight means that it's impossible to make any new funding calls or announcements. It's also unclear how much money is going to be allocated so it's impossible to begin allocating it to the individual funding bodies as nobody knows how much there is. Remember, this is all coming after the Tories bigged up how important scientific research is and how it's intrinsically linked to national prosperity. Keeping Brexit safe now appears to be the most important thing. Talk about pandering to the lowest common denominator! Absolute shambles is the only way to describe this so-called Government. -

Come on guys, he won! Time to let him get on dealing with people's priorities, like wasting tens of thousands of pounds on a consultation on whether to bring back the imperial system! -
Completely agree, good communicator, calm under fire and a really good rallying point for his country/people. Wonder how many volunteers he'll get after his call for foreign fighters. Wouldn't be surprised if there's a number from the Baltic countries, Poland, and any of the other countries formerly in the USSR.

Excellent, nothing to stop the public inquiry getting underway. I'm sure Boris will get the ball running any day.

One of the few clear direct benefits could've been to invest heavily in gene editing and genetically modified organism (GMO) research and development which is currently banned due to a ruling from the ECJ. With proper investment we could've been one of the leading lights in this field and attracted some the best scientists in the world. Instead we have have bullshit like crown marks on our pint glasses and blue passports which mean f**k all to anyone.

Wonder how many managers Watford will get through in the 2.5 years?

Absolute quality stuff from Dorries during her interview: Backing Mr Johnson, she added: "My perspective on this is that when you lead an organisation, such as the prime minister leads the government, you have to take responsibility for decisions and actions taken by that organisation. "Keir Starmer took responsibility by apologising in 2013 for what happened in the CPS during the Jimmy Savile investigation. "If you lead an organisation, the buck stops with you, you are responsible for the actions of that organisation." When the public inquiry into the government's handling of the pandemic gets underway and some of its decisions are found to have been terrible do you think Nadine will still think the same or that Boris will accept responsibility?
