  1. I actually spend an embarrassing amount of time on here lurking and not posting but these days it is rather difficult to know what is going on - I tend to skip a load of the in-forum arguing so perhaps i've missed out on confirmation that perhaps people are in fact spouting nonsense and not the truth. Who knows eh?
  2. Is this actually for real? What is happening with the ones that were seemingly close? On evidence of yesterday we really do need some strengthening, we're a few injuries / suspensions away from a worrying first XI
  3. Sorry, I forgot it only cost £20 - bought it ages ago and the ticket says £30. It has gone now, sorry.
  4. I've got 1x ticket for tonights game - i'm not feeling well so can't make it. I work in Notting Hill so am nearby if anyone is keen on it - £30. Nice one.
  5. So Guan mentioned that RH started to get cold feet and we're talking about a manager who admitted he was on the next Arsenal manager shortlist as well as being denied the opportunity to speak with Bayern Munich when he was at Red Bull Leipzig. So, if we were to tempt him round to accepting a job which let's be honest is risky role - we must have promised him funds in January which goes against what the other Ralph has said previously.. Could this be the new ownership taking their own risk and funding RH in Jan in an attempt to keep us up and their latest asset profitable? Or am I being too optimistic?
  6. He's gone! Quique decision on the next manager?
  7. New manager syndrome...
  8. Does anybody actually still have decent links with the club? Does anyone know what the thoughts are from within the top echelons of the club? I know everyone is clamouring for Les and Ralph to step down (me included at times) due to a series of what seem to be rather catastrophic decisions but my question is, who actually knows what is going on? I'm not suggesting that everyone is wrong on this, if anything, I completely agree with you all but a question popped into my mind today, would Les and Ralph and especially Les be happy with what is going on? You can't be a major part of steering a club from League One to 6th in the PL and be happy with what is happening now. Do we know for sure that Les is being destructive and not actually somebody who is staying on as he wants to get things back to where they were? For all we know he was dead against the sale to Gao Family and is staying on as some form of consistency to ease the transition from Liebherr to Gao. This could be wishful thinking but Les's reputation could end in tatters - why wouldn't he just step down post Puel? If Hughes is to go which in my mind he should, the squad is poor but he looks tactically inept with no other plans then why wait until Watford? We beat Watford and then what? We carry on being poor and then he gets the heave ho in a month or so.. Get him gone now, bring in a new guy to work with the squad for 6 weeks so he can what sort of player(s) he wants to bring in in Jan. It's not rocket science is it? Ramble over.
  9. Sky reporting deal is now very close to being done at £18m... Would seem we're getting that Norwegian lad, Elyounoussi, into replace him. Dusan will be a massive loss on and off the field - big character and very well liked in the dressing room i'm led to believe.
  10. I've heard from a mate who is associated with the club 'don't worry about all the negative media stuff, it is happening (Hughes) and will be announced soon' Not claiming to be ITK - just what I heard.
  11. No truth in it.
  12. Surely there must be a genuine ITK who has a little more knowledge on the situation? I wouldn't have been overly concerned if it hadn't been for the classic mouthpieces of the club letting us know the deal was imminent. As has been said on here many times over on this thread there wouldn't have been an overwhelming clamour of appreciation for Mark Hughes at the beginning of last season but we are where are and as it stands it seems the players have responded very well to MH so it makes sense to give him the job whilst we consolidate. Any reluctance from Mark Hughes part at this moment should be seen as rather worrying because from Ralph and Mark - there was nothing other than to suggest this was a formality and if this is no longer the case then it means that we're moving the goalposts (excuse the pun). MH won't be offered a better opportunity than this in the near future so surely he'd be chomping at the bit to get this over the line... That being said, he might be on holiday, this is all done and dusted and they're going to announce asap and we're all losers for spending time on here panicking when we should be at work.. Cheers then.

  20. VVD's picture with a Liverpool shirt had a bloody Christmas tree in it - that is how long Saints have been pottering about. 'Difficult Market' - not that difficult that clubs around us have managed to strengthen - Guido Carillo might well be excellent but he would only be part of the puzzle. I've not felt this frustrated in a long time about Southampton Football Club - we shouldn't be where we are and we shouldn't be waiting until 11.11 on the last day to realise that the Promes deal won't happen. Pretty sick of it to be honest - will always support and follow SFC but today can be marked under an annoying one to say the least.
  21. This is so so frustrating - we are crying out for pace and we've known this for months, why wait until the last day. If Spartak had a caveat that they wanted to replace Promes before selling then we should have been looking for other options too - safe in the knowledge that we would be able to bolster sufficiently. Classic.
  22. I don't want to be pessimistic but i'm counting down the hours until Adam Blackmore tells us it'll be a quiet night for Saints as their transfer business was wrapped up nice and early.
  23. What a load of pony
  24. Well that's that then.
