  1. That "We've won it all" chant sums the club up with banners like Crawley Blues. The reason they support Chelsea is they have won it all. The coaches from various parts of the south east I followed up the Avenue shows the poor souls need a Disney football club rather than a local Quentin Tarantino one . Let's enjoy the ride where ever the Saints take and torment us.
  2. I agree, the victims of the sprinklers were JWP and Tadic, everyone else managed though. Then they put the sprinklers on again at HT.
  3. At least we don't have any Jobs for the Boys players, like Redknapp Junior in the midfield putting in a 20 minute shift before his knees tired, but staying on for at least another 50 minutes
  4. Use Newport Beach as a base and you can travel to SD and LA as well as Palm Springs and enjoy the beaches.
  5. Loved the comment from Bertrand in the post match interview about not starving the forwards of the ball.
  6. I don't think any team has won the Super Bowl at their own stadium albeit 49ers and the LA Rams won in their own city at a different stadium. * I stand to be corrected *
  7. Never got us out of Div 1
  8. First 'Liebherr era' Premier League manager to answer questions at press conferences rather than talk in riddles.
  9. Good news. Hopefully he will get more out of the players.
  10. HKsaint, I don't understand the question. Supported them since I moved down here in 1987 and both my sons do. Once a Saint etc. Alex Crook commented on twitter some weeks ago that Saints have made themselves unpopular outside the SO postcode. Who cares.
  11. After listening to his pearls on wisdom travelling home yesterday, surely Dave Merrington must be on the short list. He would be ideal for advising the players what they should have done.
  12. A34 southbound liable to individual error in difficult conditions causing tail backs M3 southbound past Winchester clear and little traffic.
  13. Sit down with Matron over a nice cup of cocoa with an extra tea spoon of sugar and let her assure you that relegation doesn't mean that Southampton no longer exists as a city, and the football club will carry on, just in a different division for a while until the ghastly owners have gone away.
  14. Is that not what social media / fans forum are all about ? - Stay at home keyboard warriors.
  15. High in the Kingsland at about 70 minutes we were pondering whether the managers agreed to call a truce at half time - settling for 2-0. Minimum effort from us leaves Liverpool unscathed for their European week ahead; and we don't get torn to shreds, as anticipated at half time, by them picking us apart as we commit men up field who cant be arsed to track back.
  16. On the button
  17. We've three season tickets since St Marys was built, reduced to two more recently. Will continue regardless next season, but hoping Gao shows intent to expediently return to the Premier League rather than asset strip. On leaving the ground today couldn't help but notice the TVs in the concourse had the league 2 table on the screen as we passed and spotted Coventry . There but for the grace of God...
  18. I agree with Duncan's comments. The Liebherrs have done very well financially with the vehicle that is our club. Any sustainability and progress beyond the initial five year plan disappeared with Markus sadly passing away. The discord between LR and the coach will never be more evident that our bench last night. Appalling team / bench selection, rectified at half time, but by then the damage was done. I would add the lack of any comment from Gao, if not a set of targets or plans then at least an introduction as to why he has paid out £200M and what he would like to see as a progression, if not negligent is bizarre.
  19. Just realised it was five years today, disappointed that the club had fired Adkins with expectations of staying up beginning to increase, and with no idea about the unheard of Poch, we watched a 0-0 with Everton. Similar scenario of little expectation today. COYR
  20. Why stop at LR in the chain of command ? Pellegrino/ Reed/ Wilson , (Krueger) can only work to a budget. Previously it was used to repay some of Katrina's loans. If Gao spends £200m to buy a football club, sells VVD for say £60m, gets relegated and sells Bertrand etc for say another £50m, and pockets the parachute payments then he has bought a large building site for development including a relatively new football ground for a decent price. QED.
  21. The Watford cup game is an obvious time to protest - vote with your feet and enjoy a football free weekend - I am !
  22. But totally contrasting emotions - The anxiety of the final minutes against Sheffield when we defended the edge of the penalty area against a never ending barrage of crosses, and the joy and dancing around after Gabba's equaliser
  23. The usual Saints smoke screen ?
  24. Upper East Centre, with my sons. Great day !
  25. I reckon the Camara winner against Norwich, the stadium was rocking until well past the final whistle after the initial roar.
